The highlight at the end of our holiday in Vienna. We booked with Expedia before we travelled and it was worth paying a few extra pounds to get reserved seats nearer the front of the beautiful but large church. The musicians played with so much energy and skill and the lead violinist was mesmerising. The counter tenor was a pleasant surprise and we were able to buy a CD on our way out for a reasonable £10 of a recording of what we had heard. All very organised with vouchers, tickets and plenty of staff to guide you. We would go again in a heartbeat- wonderful.

I was visiting Vienna for a few days & wanted to hear some live classical music . I am so pleased I booked this Vivaldi concert . The venue is beautiful the acoustics are excellent . The performers were excellent the lead violinist was phenomenal recalling the majority of the program without the use of sheet music .
I would highly recommend this concert & venue

Lovely performance in a beautiful setting. Though, to be fair, the acoustics in a church are not ideal and the pews were not designed for anything other than the punishments of religion. If you have a family with young children or adults, this is a great opportunity to expose them to classical music because of the location and relative low cost.

I was a loose ends one evening in Vienna and decided last moment to attend this concert. I got a pretty cheap ticket (12 euros) which meant I didn't get a chair and got to stand in one of the apses. I didn't mind at all. The acoustics of the church are amazing! And the singer was of a calibre a step above what I would have expected. The interpretation of the Vivaldi pieced ranged from inspired to divine. The only drawback was that is was cold. Very cold. Blankets were provided and that helped but that is something to be considered if you are going in winter.

The lead violinist was incredible. All musicians were good. Nice concert in a small setting. We paid for top price ticket but felt the seating was no better than lowest priced. All had a good view. Would recommend signage for redemption area. It was not clearly marked.

The Orchester 1756 was brilliant; wonderful music and a great performance; very entertaining. The setting was also superb. The a acoustics would be better in a concert hall, but still wonderful. The organization was also well done for Covid times.

What a setting! Very romantic if not a little chilly. They give you blankets though so you can stay warm enough. The sound is mesmerising and really a night to remember. We managed to get tickets but the show sold out quick so book ahead if you can. Ignore touts selling other shows, they will tell you this show isn’t on till March but it is. It’s not as mainstream as the other shows but really can’t be missed if you are lucky enough to be in Vienna. Enjoy!

My husband and I have just walked back to our hotel after attending the concert performed by Orchestra 1756 on Baroque instruments. We had been a little concerned about the quality of the performance as it is just one of so many nightly performances touted around Vienna. However, the quality of the musicians is top class, especially the young woman playing the recorders who gave a virtuoso performance in several of the movements. We had paid to have numbered seats and it was so worth the additional cost. The setting inside the church is sublime but I do wonder if those at the back of the church (and it was packed out) would have been able to properly hear the full sound of this marvellous small orchestra. Tonight was the highlight of our one week stay in Vienna.

Well organised and beautifully played by the 8 piece strings orchestra accompanied by piano. The addition of a great singer made it even more special.
There are no toilets in the church - so bear that in mind! Although you are able to use the university toilets just across the square. Worth the money and we paid for catagory/section 1 where you have a numbered row & seat.
One other thing - you must exchange your printed or mobile ticket for an official ticket from the little stand next to the queue before hand or you will just have to rejoin the queue after you get to the front and are sent off to do it!

Excellent venue (not too sure about the mirrorball ??) and a beautiful concert. Took a little while to realise the conductor also took on the vocals as well.
Runs for approx 75 mins in total which is just about enough for sitting on unpadded church pews.
Only criticism would be the ticketing and seating arrangements. When you order online, it is only for a voucher. Then there is a scramble at the church to exchange this for your open seating ticket, followed by a race to grab the best seat available in your allocated section. Tip, pay the top price for section 1 and run like the clappers once you get your ticket..all a bit vulgar, I know. Oh, and don’t focus too much on the pianist who looks as if she keeps dozing off and falling into the piano.
Classical aficionados will hate me for this review.

Is there a processing fee for online purchases? Are tickets readily available at the venue? What is the best way to purchase tickets?

I’m not sure if there was a processing fee as I paid in AUD, however, you can purchase tickets at the venue on the evening of the performance.

My friend and I are in our late 60’s and walked back to our hotel after the concert. We felt very safe and were told my our tour director ( who is Viennese) that Vienna is a very safe city. We were only 1/3 of a mile from the church so it was a short walk and we had already explored the area so we knew were we were going. I suggest you look at a map and check the distance from your hotel to the church. I’m sure you will be fine,

I thought I remembered a ramp, however when I googled it, it says 11 steps but wheelchair accessible and to ask staff for assistance, Once in the sanctuary the chairs are lined up in front of the stage so you should be able to put a wheelchair either in the sides or back . All seats have wonderful sound and most would have clear vision of the stage.

Hello, I have bought the online ticket but it says it needs to be exchanged for a real entry ticket. I believe that I understand the performance is at 8:15 PM. What time should we plan on being at the ticket window to make the exchange? And, I bought tickets for the front section so does it matter what seat you are assigned based on how early you pick up your real ticket?

Hello
You can go to the front entrance of the church and exchange your paper copy for a ticket about an hour before the start. You start going in about half an hour before the start of the concert, and then pick your seat at the front of the church. We sat in the pews and had a good view.
I hope you enjoy the performance!

We bought a Vienna pass for public transport and with this pass you get discount on places of interest. Do you get discount on this with the Vienna pass? If not, then I can already book a ticket..
