What to Expect
The 'Marende' is the traditional charcuterie plate which is enjoyed in the alpine area during the day as one of the bigger snacks and mainly as lunch. A lot of austrian families also have it as dinner with a wider selection of cheeses and charcuterie.
The typical marende consists of different cheeses, speck (famous bacon) along with homemade dark bread, finely pickled gherkins and peperoni such as different dry-cured and smoked sausages. You will enjoy this savory treats along tipical freshly grated horseradish, a selection of the finest local cold cuts and of course, even more Austrian cheese. You will be guided trough the tasting by a professional chef and sommelier, who tells you everything about austrian cuisine, tipical product, their production and about austrian food history while you can enjoy the best quality selection of fine foods in Salzburg at the Tastelier, the first tasting atelier.
