    Beautiful evening
Very enjoyable concert in a beautiful setting. Heard some Mozart, Haydn, and one or two other composers. The only hitch was that the website said the performance would be 45 minutes long, starting at 7pm, but the concert started at 8pm and was 1.5 hours long, which threw off my sister and I’s plans for the night. Maybe we were looking in the wrong place on the website? Regardless, the concert was still a highlight of our time in Salzburg.

    Fantastic Mozart experience
My wife and I went to see a concert at the Mirabell Palace on the final night of our short stay in Salzburg. The concert room and the atmosphere were excellent and the musicians were incredible. We highly recommend to all.

    Outstanding
This is how classical music used to be performed and how many pieces were written for. Roughly 150 people were in attendance for this performance and the acoustics in the marble hall were excellent. A great value. You really felt like you were hearing the music the way it was originally intended to be. Even if you’re only a casual fan of classical music, this is worth the visit

    Concert great… Dinner poor…
Concert at the Schloss Mirabelle was wonderful…v evocative in the Marble Hall… Unfortunately the dinner at the Sheraton was distinctly mediocre and overpriced which was a shame… Strongly recommend go for the concert and give the dinner a miss…

    Moving concert in breathtaking locale
A must-see if you're spending a night or two in Salzburg. A few tips for those going: 1. There are refreshments inside. However, during the summer months and (especially on weekends) there's a beer garden just outside the Mirabell Palace. Come an hour early for a glass of wine in the palace gardens in the warm summer air. 2. Dress at least semi-formal. Jeans and a t-shirt might be too casual. But if you dress it up with a blazer and nice shoes, it should be fine. For ladies, a simple dress with flats should be fine too. 3. No photography or recording once the concert starts. Take all the pictures you want BEFORE anything starts, but be polite to other concertgoers and the performers by respecting the rules. 4. Be sure to take full advantage of the bathrooms before the concert starts. The room is fairly small and intimate, so it's HIGHLY noticeable if someone gets up mid-concert. 5. Enjoy!

    Great entertainment!
Beautiful concert, and rather small venue, which makes the experience more intimate, plus sound quality was great. Before it all started, we had been greeted warmly by Katharina.

    New Year concert
We went to the concert on new years and were blown away by the music and the performance. We are not classical music buffs but this was rousing and inspiring entertainment. A must do while in Salzburg.

Full disclosure- I know nothing about classical music however I loved this concert. The passion and enthusiasm of the musicians made me love this concert on Christmas Eve. I highly recommend attending this event

Memorable Concert in An Elegant Palace Hall
Mozart's hometown Salzburg has many attractions, and Mirabell Palace is one of the major attractions. Although the exterior of infamous Mirabell Palace building and its breathtaking garden are open to public, the elegant Marble Hall of the palace is not open to public except for special events. Mirabell Palace Concert is one of those special events when the concert goers can have a chance to enter the elegant and charming Marble Hall. Listening to light classical music by Mozart and other composers in such an elegant palace hall was an unforgettable experience. I ordered the ticket for one of the palace concerts via "Viennaconcerts" online site in advance, receiving an e-mail confirmation. There were 2 categories of tickets: Category I ticket (Numberred seats for € 40 per adult) & Category II ticket (Open seats for € 34 per adult: Seats behind or sides of Category I seats). I bought Category I ticket to get a good seat. On the day of the concert, I entered the palace through the side entrance of Mirabell Palace 35 minutes before the concert time, and walked up to the Marble Hall's waiting room. There were many people already standing along the walls in and out of the waiting room. Instead of standing behind them, I passed them, and walked straight to the counter with "Tickets" signs inside the waiting room. There, I showed my printed e-mail confirmation to a ticket agent behind the counter, who looked at the confirmation e-mail and gave me a slip showig my seat number. Then, I waited alongside a wall with other people who had already received their seat slips. When we were called to enter Marble Hall, I went in and sat on my designated seat. The walls and ceilings were so elegantly decorated, and the chamber music was so delightful. It was a marvelous and memorable experience.

    Evening concert
Spectacular quartet on a very rainy nice. The concert hall was beautiful and intimate and the 4 young musicians played their hearts out for us. One of the best things we did in Salzburg!

    Concert at Mirabellplatz
Wonderful music (not all Mozart) from the young, extremely talented musicians. The beautiful hall lent itself to a memorable evening.

    Rude staff, negative experience
I was with my wife, we paid extra for Category I but they gave us two seats in the fifth row on the far side (places 1 and 2) when the directions said: Category I: numbered seats, central seats. Category II: seats not numbered behind and on the sides of category I The ticket attendant gave no explanation and was rude. Result, we could hardly see the head of a single violinist, also because in front of us we had four other rows with very tall people sitting, and since we were in a side seat we could not see anything considering the diagonal. Very frustrating for those who are used to listening to classical music and go to a concert for the pleasure of seeing the musicians play, otherwise listen to a good system at home. Very frustrating experience, never again will I repeat such an experience.

Great music in an incredeble setting
We attended a beautiful Chamber concert on a sold out night . It was Mozart and Haydn night. The musicians were wonderful and it was a very entertaining and animated concert. The sound in the Marble Hall is amazing. This concert was magical and at the end they played us a surprise. We really enjoyed our evening

    Mozart? No way!
Mirabell is nice place but music... really? Last night we were attending a concert played by “Orchestra 1748” or something. They tried to perform Mozart but it sounded really bad. Out of tune, lots of mistakes,... Like a bunch of music students trying to earn some money for a summer vacation or skiing. Lots of people left after first set. We were stupid enough to stay till the end. Anyway, if you like Mozart don’t go there. Maybe in couple years. Just maybe.

What a shame that our trip to Salzburg had to end like that. Friends of us visited a year ago and liked Vivaldi’s Four Seasons here so much that they recommended we visit, since they know that we love classical music.
Unfortunately our experience was completely different from theirs:
Tired, uninspired musicians. Bad acoustics. 100% tourist audience. A soloist of student level, the ensemble even less than that. Mistakes all over the place, but nobody seemed to care, just kept smiling and went on to make new ones. At some point I saw one of the musicians yawn while on stage! My husband wanted to leave already after the first half but I convinced him to give it another chance, but no, more of the same.
I don’t know what changed in the last year, but this is definitely not what was described to us. Avoid at all costs, for what you are getting with the (overpriced) ticket you can do much better things in this town.

Horrible. Not because something bad happened, but because of what didn’t. Totally boring playing by bored musicians just killing time until they can finally go home. The soloist in the four seasons, as bored (if not more) as everyone else, was playing less loud whenever anything in the music was difficult. Still couldn’t hide the wrong notes unfortunately. The rest of them were just purely bad. I wonder how in the great music city of Salzburg one couldn’t find better people to put on stage. But then again, they properly are somewhere else, playing proper concerts.

If you have ever visited a classical concert, don’t do this to yourself. If this is the first time, definitely don’t. This is just a tourist trap with masterpieces being milked for money, not the real thing.

Five excellent musicians playing Mozart Divertimenti KV 136 and 137 as well as a skilled and energetic soloist added for Vivaldi's Four Seasons (complete). Marble Hall in Mirabelle Palce is ornate in the Baroque style. It was very meaningful to be where a young Mozart and his sister performed. Only suggestion is to open windows during an otherwise hot, stuffy atmosphere produced by so many people.

The concert was absolutely fabulous, exceeded my expectations. The trip advisor directions for obtaining tickets are unnecessarily complex. The app says you have to take your electronic voucher to one location and get it exchanged for the ticket then take the ticket to the marble Hall concert location. This is not the case. You walk right up to the door of the marble hall, show them your voucher and they hand you your ticket and you walk in. There’s no need to go to two different locations and it’s terribly confusing

This was a highlight of our week-long holiday in Salzburg. Five talented musicians including an excellent guitar soloist played popular music in the Marble Hall, where Mozart played as a young man. We had front seats in an intimate gathering of probably less than 100 people. We'd booked a few weeks earlier online so we could have the best seats. A lovely night out.

This concert was absolutely beautiful! I was so impressed with the musicians and the sound within the Marble Hall is great. I went on September 19 and they performed an encore with the oboe player, would love to know what the song was. It was so lovely and had many of the people in the audience in tears.

I have never been more disappointed in a concert. I am a classically trained musician and adore classical music and music of all types. I was planning for and expecting a good experience. The hall is beautiful and the setting very nice, and it is fun to imagine the concerts that have taken place there over history. However, the performance of Mozart pieces that we saw was simply uninspiring. The first violinist played so quietly that you couldn't even hear the melody when she was playing it. In general the performance was flat and there was very little energy from the performers. I was wishing the first and viollin players switched as the second violinist was a stronger player and I would have been happy to hear the violin melody. We ended up leaving at the intermission since it was too painful to hear such important music without a first violin part. We went to 4 concerts on our recent European vacation (2 in Prague, 1 in Salzburg, and 1 in Venice) and this was the only one that was not excellent. Not recommended unless you don't care about the performance.

Seeing classical music in the Mirabell Palace is a lovely experience. The sextet was tight and joyful, playing a range of composers, in a gorgeous setting. We were there in winter without the usual tourist crowds, and if/when we return we will definitely see the gardens in bloom.

Thank you for taking the time to write us feedback. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your first evening in Salzburg with Concert & Dinner. It is a very good idea to perhaps visit Salzburg again in the spring, as the city has a captivating charm. We would be very happy to see you again! Perhaps under the magnolia trees near Mirabell Castle ...

Beautiful venue, sumptuous surroundings and good sound quality. The performance of the musicians, and particularly, Baroque violinist, Florian Moser, was both a pleasant surprise and totally mesmorising! That guy belongs in the Royal Albert Hall!

I'm not sure how there can be (some) negative reviews about these concerts - I assume that the Reviewers were just unlucky with the musicians/concerts that they saw. Our experience was the exact opposite - an amazing performance by hugely-skilled, joyful musicians. Absolutely wonderful performance in a wonderful setting.
