- dbranscu00Absolutely the best tour around!I cannot recommend a better tour or a better tour guide, Carlos! Everything was fantastic from start to finish! While the weather (and elevator) didn’t cooperate, we made the most of it and really enjoyed our time with Carlos! He’s super friendly, knowledgeable, funny… just a super good guy all the way around and will make sure you get your money’s worth. If we are ever around Salzburg again, he will be our go-to guide for sure! Thank you!
- Mariana S00An unforgettable tour with Michael Joth! Our trip to Eagle’s nest and the Sound of Music with Michael was amazing! We will never forget it. This because Michael was so learned and entertaining. We sang the songs together and had so much fun. Michael was so knowledgeable of the history of the place and such a fine gentleman! We absolutely adored him and our tour. We would strongly recommend Michael to our friends.
- edscott442500Amazing sceneryExcellent scenery, 1900 meters above sea level, 👍our tour guide made the trip; thank you Michael Toth, he even added a extra tour of the Salt mine, a must visit
- kevintS5282YS00Salzburg Private Tours-Carlos-AMAZING GUIDE!It was a drizzling day with poor visibility which would hinder the vista opportunities of many tours, especially at elevation but this tour was special in other ways. Carlos was likable from the beginning. His love of Salzburg and the surrounding area was obvious. He had an answer for every question. It was clear in the first hour of the tour that he was very knowledgeable. He conveyed his knowledge with great rhythm and tempo as to easily understand what he was trying to convey…just as a good teacher would. I would HIGHLY recommend Carlos as a tour guide for all things Salzburg! It was a wonderful experience. ❤️
- Daydream29746700FANTASTIC!!! AMAZING!!! A MUST DO TOUR!This tour was absolutely fantastic!! If you are a lover of The Sound of Music, you MUST take this private tour. Carlos was our guide, he is so knowledgeable! We definitely felt like we made a new friend in Austria. We went so many places that the big tours do not go. The best being the mountain where the film opened with Maria singing The Hills Are Alive! The big tour groups only get to wish they could see it! If I toured Salzburg again, I would book all my tours with Salzburg Private Tours. You pay a bit more money, but the quality of the tour is well worth the investment.
- elizabetheH2227UO00Excellent tour of Eagles NestWe chose a private tour to avoid the buses and herds of people. Luciano, our guide picked us up at our hotel and took us on an adventure. It was a wonderful day. Great views, history lessons, and some details about Salzburg in Hollywood!
- 504masaakiy00Private tour to Hallstat and GosauseeThanks Mr. Luciano for perfect and very kind private tour to Hallstatt and Gossuser. We had really enjoyable and memorable time. See you again in Salzburg.
- rosslN3303DM00Michael Toth Was GreatWe had a private tour with this gentleman and it was fantastic. It was just my wife and me and we were a little reluctant at first to be the only ones going on the trip, but it turned out to be fantastic. Mr. Toth was very knowledgeable, energetic, helpful and enthusiastic about the trip. I am not sure if he does this for everyone, but he took us on a side trip to Ramsau bei Berchtesgaten and we fell in love with the little town. 10/10. Definitely recommend this tour guide for your group, couples or solo excursions in western Austria Salzburg.
- AAdi140500OverratedWhile the cave is very very impressive, we all felt it had much more to offer, so we came out quite disappointed. The tour in the cave itself takes about 70 minutes. The level of guidance is very poor, and they have one goal: to have you out of the cave as fast as possible, to enable as many groups as possible, in. The gimmick of using a traditional lighting does not enable you to admire the full magnificence of the cave. You pass through the various attractions quite fast, and instead of sufficient time to stop and admire this nature wonder, you are busy walking and climbing to the next short stop. I wish the stops at each site would be much longer and the lighting system would be better. The point is not just to go through the cave, but to have enough time to tour, to look and marvel the sights.
- his192800Job well done!!!Michael was a star!! He was so passionate about ever aspect of the tour. He was energetic, amusing and knowledgeable. We enjoyed every minute!!
- Sarabeth5900Magnificent, but challengingThe ice formations in the caves are a magnificent natural wonder and the guide inside the cave (Mikel) was exceptionally pleasant and knowledgeable, but at 63 years old and semi-fit (each of us 20 lbs overweight) the hiking portions to reach the caves, and the 1,400 (+/-) steps up & down once inside the freezing caves was a bit much for my husband and I. We knew going down the mountain that many overweight folks on their way up were not going to made it. In fact, we ended up not doing the salt mines portion of the tour later in the day because our knees and hips were shot after getting down the mountain. Your fitness level, joint health, and weight are important factors for this tour.
- danyv15700A unique place to visit but be prepared (warm clothes and tough climbing)A great experience but some recommendations - 1. Bring warm clothes but during the climbing don’t use all of them, because you will probably sweat a lot. 2. Be ready for a tough climbing, very tough, more or less 40 minutes plus 700 steps in the cave The visit is worthwhile.
- davidgO6533CB00A hot day in the mountains!Pick up by Luciano was early/on time He gave us lots of information. We had time at Konigsee to do our own thing then Eagles Nest trip was very well organised although we did not realise we had to pay extra for tickets on top of what we had already paid. Thanks to Luciano for looking after our party of 7 family members so well. Weather was suberb!
- maliac8800Worth the tour !Very productive tour with a great guide Luciano. He was really patient and funny though the trip. We arrived the site on schedule and he was able to guide us though without getting caught into larger crowds. Although he is Italian, he gave us a great perspective from his view. We definitely saw more that we anticipated and saved lot of time compare with larger tour. Thank you Luciano and we should be seeing you in our next visit
- Freedom64454600The Real Story Of One FamilyThe day was amazing, and that eight-hour adventure was worth every second of it. Hills were really alive, and the sound of music was everywhere. Tour guide Carlos told us really great stories about The Sound Of Music, Salzburg and everything what's around. So if you plan to spend a day in Salzburg, it's definitely one of the best ways to spend it.

Not being a fan of large tour groups but wanting to see the lakes, this tour was perfect. Scenery was amazing and Carlos was very knowledgeable about the history and geography of the area. Easy to chat with in the car and happy to stop for a pic as well as suggest places to eat and what to see when we stopped at different spots. Communication was excellent both before and during the trip. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend!! We were staying in Munich so took a morning train to Salzburg (1.5 hr ride) and our guide, Thomas, met us at train station. He was very knowledgeable , friendly and accommodating. He drove us in a comfortable, spacious Mercedes van. For lunch, he made sure to recommend a stop where the food was great and not touristy. We saw the beautiful Lake District esp Hallstatt and some of the Sound of Music sites. A very well organized and comfortable trip.

Hi ther
Thanks for posting your review. We are also staying in Munich and will be getting a train to Salzburg. We would like to see Halstatt and do a few sound of music sites. How long did your trip take? We are going in December and would like a couple of hours after tour to be in Salzburg and explore the Christmas markets. Do you think we could do this in 4 hours
Thanks
Nicola
