Michael, our guide, welcomed us warmly into our first day in Salzburg. He gave an in-depth experience of Salzburg, Hallstatt, the surrounding area and local architecture, as well as interesting historical facts. He was very a great source of ideas for sightseeing, points of interest, as well as outdoor activities. He was wonderful and we felt like family!

Carlos was a fantastic tour guide! He’s extremely knowledgeable and is clearly a fan of The Sound of Music and loves Salzburg. We had an intimate tour for the three of us and I would highly recommend it. Not only did we enjoy the main highlights, but Carlos was able to drive us up to the hills to explore extra hidden gems, like the Sound of Music picnic spot up in the hills. It was obviously different scenery at times covered in snow, but Carlos had clips from the movie to show how each place was exactly the same place, as well as explaining some filming trickery. Carlos is entertaining, knowledgeable, friendly and provided an incredible experience.

Michael was a great guide. He took us to everything that we were interested in and his knowledge of the area was great! I’d highly recommend him!

View was amazing but the our guide/driver was quite quiet so he didn’t share that much information during the drive, and when he did he was so soft that only the one at the passenger seat could hear him. In Hallstatt he also just dropped us off for 2 hours, but I guess there was no parking so he had to deal with that.

Such a wonderful experience! We absolutely loved exploring the area with Michael as our guide and driver. He was knowledgeable and entertaining. He also made sure to take us to all the best spots for photos and sound of music filming locations, and he was happy to take pictures for us. The experience was well worth the price! This was the most incredible tour to see some of the most amazing places but the best part was Michael! He had such vast knowledge of the areas we hit on the tour and was able to provide unique insights on the culture, history, and lore behind it all. He accommodated every request we had and more! He also had key insights to when attractions would be busy to help us plan accordingly. Michael even went as far as to return my scarf I had left in the vehicle to Munich! He went above and beyond to say the least and really made our stay in Salzburg and our tour special.

The views were lovely and Michael was a very friendly and accommodating guide. He made sure to give in-depth explanations about the places we went past and visited and he was very cheerful! If i could give 6 stars i would. If you’re in the area you should definitely get this tour.🙏🙏🙏

My aunt and I had the most wonderful private tour visiting The Sound of Music filming sites and Hallstatt! Despite the less-than-perfect weather, our guide Michael ensured the day was nothing short of magical. Michael’s knowledge about the filming locations was incredible, and his enthusiasm brought the movie scenes to life. He shared fascinating behind-the-scenes stories and even pointed out little-known details we would have otherwise missed. He made us feel like family, which added such a personal touch to the experience. A highlight was our food stop, where Michael went above and beyond to accommodate my vegan diet—a small detail that made a big difference! Hallstatt was breathtaking, even in the rain, and we loved how Michael tailored the tour to our interests, giving us plenty of time to soak in the sights. This was one of the best tours I’ve ever taken, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Thank you, Michael, for making our day so special!

Michael Toth with Salzburg Private Tours was absolutely AMAZING! He was incredibly knowledgeable and so very kind. He answered all of our questions and shared so many great details. You can tell he loves meeting new people and sharing the history of the region. Despite snowy weather this morning making it hard to see the lakes he helped make things enjoyable. I was quite pleased with the courtesy and flexibility Carlos granted me throughout this epic "Sound of Music" tour in Salzburg and environs. Carlos picked me up at my hotel on time and expertly guided me from Nonnberg Abbey until the finale at the Mirabell Gardens. The highlights were taking me to Marketshellenberg, Mehlweg; Rossfeld, Werfen; a stop by Mondsee where Maria and children rode bikes as featured in Do-Re-Mi; Mondsee Cathedral, etc. A full 8 hour tour made me The Happiest Man In All the World! You will not be disappointed in this tour!

I don’t even know where to start! We booked a private tour to Hallstatt with Viator. Our driver/tour guide Michael Toth was beyond fantastic! The itinerary was just perfect and he customized the stops based on our preferences. He was so knowledgeable, friendly and funny! He gave us recommendations for things to do after our tour as well that were spot on. We had a wonderful lunch in Hallstatt (an adorable town) with the perfect table right in the water thanks to Michael! If five stars Is the top rating I give this tour and Michael a 10! Worth every penny!

Carlos was the best. He is a man who knows his history and had great ideas of what to do along the way. Truly a delight. His English is excellent and he knows several other languages. Will use again in the future.
