We really enjoyed this afternoon and learned a lot. The dough for the strudel had been prepared in advance as it needs to sit in the fridge for hours, but we were shown how to make it at the end of the class. The instruction was clear and easy to follow. The groups are kept small so that the teacher has time to also move around and help you. Johann is a great guy and a patient teacher. After preparing the strudel and cookies, we had a bowl of gulasch soup for lunch and then enjoyed what we had cooked for dessert. Drinks are available for purchase while you cook and eat and you can also purchase a cookbook at the end for a very reasonable price.

My only suggestion would be to start the class at noon or 1pm rather than 2pm. Since there is a soup included for lunch, it would be better to start the class a little earlier. Had a great afternoon though and will return to learn to cook something different with Johann on the next visit to Salzburg.

Our family of 5 did this together - my sons were a little reluctant, but they ended up enjoying the experience. You do quite a bit in a short time - roll pastry, make strudel filling, form cookies, eat goulash, and enjoy your strudel all in an hour and a half. Beer, wine, coffee, etc are all extra cost so be sure to bring some euros. We enjoyed it and plan to at least make the cookies - not sure we'll be able to make that amazing strudel pastry on our own!

We had a great time learning how to cook apple strudel and vanillekipferl. It was fun being able to chat with other travelers too. Johann is a wonderful host and made baking seem not so intimidating. A delicious lunch and drinks were also provided! Guests washed hands, showed proof of vaccination, and wore masks with the exception of drinking and eating. Would recommend!

An absolute must! Our family of seven had a private class with Alicia. Completely hands on with Alicia’s guidance. She was both charming and professional and the strudel and cookies were delicious. We will definitely make them back home in the states. The goulash might have been our favorite and Alicia shared her recipe so we hope to recreate that as well. This was one of the highlights of our trip!!

This was a great cooking class, learning the tradition strudel and kipferl. There was ample time to learn and get assistance with stretching the dough! Great goulash to finish it off.

Johann was very personable and provided clear directions and demonstrations. Our teen wished we could have done more of the steps but we understood with time constraints some things had to be prepared ahead or done by Johann. Now we are home we will definitely be testing out the recipes and enjoying the results! A memorable way to spend boxing day, thank you.
