      Amazing!
Johann was amazing, he put together an excellent lesson for us to make an apfel strudel, before serving us 4 other courses paired with beers that were absolutely fantastic. We finished with the apfel strudel that we made, that was incredibly delicious. He accommodates food allergies, intolerances and preferences as well. The experience was so incredible and I highly suggest anyone spending time in Salzburg to go here. His location is perfect, being inside a mountain, so the rock walls and ceiling give a unique vibe there. Overall it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.

Probably the best meal I had in Austria! The beer pairings were fantastic and Johann was very accommodating. The space is also gorgeous!

      A Must Do in Salzburg!
Made Apple Strudel and Salzburg Nockerl desserts with great instruction! I was surprised the unique techniques for each and could never have figured them out via YouTube videos. My husband and I and are 2 adult daughters LOVED this hands on class and the instructors were excellent. Don’t miss this when in Salzburg! We are bakers and cooks in our family and this was an exciting surprise in how to make! Have fun!!

Amazing Cooking Course, Strudel & Salzbuerger Nockerl
This was an amazing Cooking Course, well-planned and explained, made Apple Strudel & Salzbuerger Nockerl in less than 2 hours, then ate them, delicious! Agnes and her assistant were brilliant, very good English and very helpful.

A unique experience not ot be missed
My 2 daughters, 2 granddaughters ( 7 & 5 ) and myself had a wonderful afternoon preparing and cooking apple strudel and vanilla kipfel. We had great fun preparing the strudel pastry. The lunch of goulash followed by our own homemade strudel and kipfel was delicious. Johann explained all of the steps clearly and included the children in every step. The venue in itself was an experience being a shopfront opening into a cave.

      Dinner Class and Concert
Our family participated in the dinner class and concert. We highly recommend this fun and engaging Salzburg experience! We had a private class for our family of 7 due to it being an off season. We enjoyed our evening learning to make authentic Austrian dishes. Johann was a great instructor, he was patient, knowledgeable, and answered any questions we had! We made pretzels, dumplings, and apple strudel. We enjoyed our meal while listening to live opera music performed by a soprano that goes to the school of Mozart. The opera singer was friendly, interactive, and so talented! We were able to purchase beer and wine throughout the evening. Highly recommend!

3 Cheers for Edelweiss Cooking School!!
We had the most delightful afternoon at our Strudel Baking Class. We were visiting our Daughter in Germany and took a couple of days in Salzburg. She really wanted to do a culinary experience and found this class for us to learn how to make Strudel. We were there with two other groups of two...... so just 7 students and our wonderful teacher Selen [hope I remembered how to spell that:) ]. The instruction was fun, informative and, of course, hands on. While the Strudel was baking we enjoyed delicious soup for lunch and conversation with our fellow classmates. We also made a bonus dessert that you will see on menus all over Salzburg.... The Salzburg Nockerl! Fun to see how it was made and get a taste of that one as well...... although I think we all preferred the Strudel which was delicious and warm, straight out of the oven. Selen was a wonderful host in this charming cooking school in a "cave". Highly recommend this for a nice relaxing afternoon!

      Don’t miss this experience!
Extraordinary experience making our own strudel and nockerl. Easy, fun, and we feel confident we could do it on our own now. Lunch was also provided along with our own strudel & nockerl and was delicious. Highly recommend this experience. Conveniently located to old town or across the river.

What a fabulous way to experience a city! We are a family of four traveling with our adult children. The class was fun, organized and delicious! We highly recommend this fun way to learn some new baking techniques and learn a little history of Austrian desserts. Goulash and lentil soup were tasty too!

      Fantastic experience for multi-generational trips.
We loved our experience with Edelweiss Cooking School. My three teenage daughters and I were able to share a table and prepare both Apfelstrudel and traditional cookies. All the girls are excited to share what they learned with family back home. The goulash soup was an extra added bonus during a busy afternoon.

      A brilliant experience
My husband and I had just the most fantastic evening here from start to finish! The girls who were helping and the chef who was demonstrating, were amazing. We had lots of fun and laughter. Met some really lovely people and learned how to make Pretzels, Dumplings (with cheese and some with meat) And Apple Strudel . We then sat and ate together whilst we were entertained by the most beautiful singing by one of the helpers who was studying opera at the Mozart school of music. All in all a really tremendous experience and cannot Recommend highly enough

The atmosphere for the school is amazing. Carved from the side of the mountain, the space has been in use for hundreds of years. It’s worth going just to spend time there.

Johann was informative, patient, and an excellent teacher. I’ve been baking for decades and learned so much from him. Another member of our group is a relative beginner at baking and we are now calling him the strudel king!

I highly recommend this delightful class!

We had a great time learning how to cook apple strudel and vanillekipferl. It was fun being able to chat with other travelers too. Johann is a wonderful host and made baking seem not so intimidating. A delicious lunch and drinks were also provided! Guests washed hands, showed proof of vaccination, and wore masks with the exception of drinking and eating. Would recommend!

Johann and team weee wonderful but I expected a much more hands on experience for the price paid. Very little work for you to do.

I was traveling solo and was paired with a young boy and his mom. What passion this young man had! But even with the mom’s persuading to allow me and her turns, we did very little of the things we actually were allowed to do. Our tasks were only to season the sliced apples, stretch the already made dough, fill it and fold it.

Not recommended for a solo traveler - you will get paired up. Not recommended for an experienced baker.

I personally felt the value I paid did not reflect what I received during my 90 minutes in the class.

I'm not sure if we really learned how to make strudel, but it didn't matter, we had a great time! Our class was fully booked, so there were four to a table. We each took turns and managed to get a strudel in the oven, along with Christmas cookies. And then goulash for lunch!! I would absolutely recommend this class to anyone of any age, whether you're interested in baking or not! Just go and have fun!!!

My wife and I signed up for the class and thoroughly loved it. While it was (naturally) full of Americans (because what Austrian doesn't know how to bake strudel and traditional Christmas cookies?), the experience was wonderful. There were 13 of us and both the head baker and her ?sous-baker? kept things marching right along. We prepared the strudel and then made the cookies. While everything baked, we ate delicious gulash and then had our strudel and cookies for dessert. Along the way we were served beverages (small extra charge). Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Our family of 5 adults went to this cooking school yesterday and loved it. A nice relaxed fun event to do on our first day in Salzburg after an early start and long day travelling. Host chef was entertaining and jolly and the hands on lesson in stretching the waffer thin dough was something we look forward to trying back home.

Fun class, nice food and is an event I positively recommend other travellers experience.

This cooking lesson was one of the highlights of our time in Salzburg! Johann was friendly, accomodating and explained everything exceptionally well. The strudel was easy to make and delicious to eat. The cooking class size is small, which we really enjoyed! Highly recommend!!

An absolute must! Our family of seven had a private class with Alicia. Completely hands on with Alicia’s guidance. She was both charming and professional and the strudel and cookies were delicious. We will definitely make them back home in the states. The goulash might have been our favorite and Alicia shared her recipe so we hope to recreate that as well. This was one of the highlights of our trip!!

This was such a fun activity and a nice break from walking tours around the city! We opted for lunch to be included which was nice since it was over lunch time. My husband and I love cooking classes (have done many) and this was no exception! Easy to follow instructions, engaging chef lead class, resources to use to make at home, and so much more 😀
