Great trip! Knowledgable guide and good driver. The views are amazing - just like I expected Austria to be. Hallstatt is a beautiful, if rather busy, village on the shores of the lake. The funicular railway trip is good for the breathtaking views at the top.

Had a great tour guide for both; Zoe was excellent and a lot of fun. Walter was also great. Loved the Salt Mine.

Very well organized! Only problem is the lift was broken. We had to walk to the top. It wasn’t the tour operators fault and they offered to refund the money. The walk was challenging but worth it

Just finished the Sound of Music tour in Salzburg and had a great experience. Zoe was the best tour guide I have ever had . She was very informative, knowledgeable and made the tour extremely fun. Hope to do it again someday and I would love to be on the bus with Zoe and Fernando again.

The tour guide and driver were very nice and did a fine job. That's where the accolades stop. There is truly nothing special about this tour. Basically, you are paying for a ride and someone who knows where the movie landmarks are. Other than that, most of it is a drive by. You don't get any special access to any of the places where the movie was shot. The places are either totally off limits to the public or totally free to the public. Note: the opening scene of the movie was shot in Germany, not in Austria..... Again, guide and driver fantastic. Tour itself - skip.

We had a wonderful half day trip from Salzburg to Hallstatt. A lovely ride to and from the town. Our tour guide, Barbara, was engaging and entertaining with lively stories and history along the way. She made the ride very enjoyable. The landscape is stunning and worth the trip. The town, charming. A wonderful place to spend time.

The only thing this tour gets you is a trip up the mountain in a bus with 60 other people and entrance into The Eagles Nest. There was not much information given at all, and I will never book a tour with this company again. Avoid the tour bus crowds!! SPEND the extra money and take a PRIVATE TOUR of the Eagles Nest (there will be other big tours there at the same time, but you will get much more history with a private tour). DEFINITELY book through salzburgprivatetours.com. We did another tour with these guys the day before, and it was the highlight of our time in Salzburg.

DO NOT DO THIS TOUR IF YOU LIKE THE SOUND OF MUSIC, THIS IS A TOUR 1 HOUR SOUND OF MUSIC AND 3 HOURS OUTSIDE SALZBURG. DO NOT DO THIS TOUR IF YOU TRAVEL WITH ELDER PEOPLE. My mother has movability issues. They LEFT US after the first stop. We had to fight to get a car from then to pick us up because they expected us to take a taxi to the second stop and HOPEFULLY arrive in time to take the bus again IN WHERE WE HAD OUR BELONGINGS, INCLUDING OUR DOCUMENTS. HALF OF THE SPOTS FROM THE MOVIE YOU WILL NOT SEE THEM IN THIS TOUR. Things like the abbey, you see them from far (with the bicycle tour you can go there and enter the church). They don't go to the Rocking school which is the front of the Von Trapp Family. They don't go to the horse pond, neither the horse statues. They dont go to the Do Re Mi bridge. The last stop In where you are taken to a place to eat strudel; the place is crowed, only two people serving, and they only give you 40 minutes (minus 20 minutes walk to the bus go and back) to eat but they never serve you so its a waste on time to go there. This was my first and LAST time with them. They have millions of people on each tour so expect to be just a number from them. NEVER AGAIN.
