i really enjoyed this relaxed trip, loved seeing the countryside, and the towns, but, without a doubt the highlight was crossing into the turkish republic of northern cyprus through the checkpoints. just so cold war!
we stopped for coffee, and ate warm olive pie, which was like a giant sweet olive scone..YUUUUM! salamis was not the most exciting ancient site ive ever been to, but the amphitheatre is impressive, and it was a lovely day just wandering around the ruins. but, by far, the highlight was being in northern cyprus, like a different world, and famagusta with its huge norman cathedral, turned into a mosque. driving through the ghost town of varosha, which was abandoned during the invasion in 1974, was sobering, and sad, and its probably just as well that you are not allowed to get off the bus. i thought this was a really nice trip, a great guide, and very easy pace with both ancient and modern history of cyprus in heaps. well worth the money.

Excellent guide Evia, excellent driver Nacho.
Loved the archaeological perspective of Salamis and the human perspective of the invasion.
Recommend for any history and culture junkies.

This site was included on a trip we went on from Pathos. As we understand it was excavated before the Turkish invasion and whilst it appears to be maintained to a degree, it is desperately in need of further work. It is a very historic and interesting site but lacks signage on site. Pathways need to be improved and there is masonary lying about which needs to be tidied up. Substantial weeding also required which would make it look more impressive. I am not sure I agree with the method by which numerous pillars have been restored but we were glad that we were able to see this site.

The pick up location was changed a few days before by the tour provider and was no longer at our hotel. The new location was about 45 minutes walk from the hotel. Subsequently, the tour bus did not show up at the new location. We called the operator and they kept telling us the bus was coming. In the end when we called the fourth time, the bus was supposed to have been at our location to pick us up and we were not there. Which was an utter lie, since we confirmed we were at the right location with the operator during the first call and we were at the road side the whole time. I would not recommend this unreliable tour.

I am reporting this local company to Cyprus police for fraud. They got the money and then simply did not pick up the phone nor replied the emails to confirm pick up point and time. They did not showed up to pick us up. The next day I had a trip to Nicosia with them as well and was THE EXACT SAME thing. The lady on the phone that day kept saying “bear with me, I will send you via email” and then STOP ANSWERING THE PHONE. Please do not book this trip, this is a SCAM. You will ruin your holiday.
