Disappointing outcome to the day out
It was an interesting trip with an extremely knowledgeable guide Unfortunately my partner hurt her knee stepping down from the high exit step of the bus onto the sloping and rough ground that the bus parked on, causing a painful rest of the day with all the walking involved Also in Famagusta 3 members of the trip were missing at the agreed leaving time meaning we waited 45 minutes before leaving without them this caused the visit to the deserted no go area (the main reason I booked the trip) to be cut short not giving any free time to veiw the buildings.

          A day well spent
Wasn’t sure about booking this trip as a long day out, but so glad I did. I learnt so much about the Island of Cyprus and its rich history. The guide was fantastic at sharing his knowledge and pointing out things you might not necessarily learn any other way. Driver was great, coach clean and air conditioning very welcome. If your interested in both past and more recent histories, I would highly recommend this trip. Offers great value for money.

          FANTASTIC ❤️
Absolutely fantastic day, albeit a very long one - but so worth it! Mr Vasos was an amazing guide, and we learned so much about the history from the very distant and not so distant past of Famagusta. Mr Adamos took great care of us, and on what ended up a lengthened journey, due to some passengers going missing for some time, he drove with great care. Would highly recommend this tour - worth every single cent/penny/lira. 👌

Pretty much a glorified bus, go to these places but have to pay to get in them. Cheaper to hire a car for the day and visit the places especially if there is more than one of you going

          Historical trip Paphos Cyprus
Booked a trip to visit some sites in Paphos. The guide Sofia was excellent, very knowledgeable and helpful. George was the coach driver. Visit to one of the oldest potteries, 5 domed church with amazing frescos, all explained by Sofia. Then a visit to another Sofia's house where we tasted homemade bread, halloumi made on site. Salad and amazing coffee. The trip ended with own time in old Paphos. A great trip.

A thought provoking day that brought history to life.
This was a trip that has been put off for many years but it was absolutely worth waiting for. Although a long day, timings were great with sufficient time to view all the sites that we visited. The guide was extremely informative and brought a good deal of local knowledge and passion to the day. The visit to the ghost city of Famagusta was extremely thought provoking and certainly makes you reflect. It brought to life the tension that still exists on the island and the sad consequences of the war in 1974. This was certainly the most memorable aspect of the tour and worth going just for this.

          Famagusta the main attraction
Very intriguing and interesting. Famagusta looks like it was a very lively place when it was open. Shame how it's been closed down. They call it the ghost town.

          Interesting day trip
The price of the trip was good The bus was on time - full coach of people, over 1 hrs to collect everyone up and down. The guide was very professional /I observed the guide can be very abrupt with answers. Not enough time in Nicosia 2 1/2 hrs. I expected more time to spend there. She was very one sided about the history and made us afraid to cross the Turks side. She said that you MUST be on time if not the coach would leave us. Most people came back at the coach very early.

          Historic religious sites and sweets!
Places visited were excellent. Especially the monastery. Guide gave detailed explanations at the church and monastery which greatly helped to understand the religious significance. Would highly recommend this tour. Journey times are short which leaves more time for visits.

Fantastic trip, at a great price, with a lovely, informative guide
My wife and I, both of us in our mid-sixties, booked this trip through our Mercury Holiday’s rep at our hotel for a cost of €26 each, which we thought was amazing value for this all day tour. The coach arrive shortly after the pick-up time we were told, which wasn’t a problem as the weather was fine. The coach was clean and comfortable, and we were soon on our way to Kourion, which was our first port of call. Sofia, our tour guide, was excellent throughout the day giving us an endless stream of information both on and off the coach. We spent a fair amount of time at Kourion, and Sofia made it interesting with her dialogue on what we were viewing. We got some wonderful photos of the ruins and the amphitheatre. Then it was on to Kolossi Castle, where we decided not to go in, but instead had a coffee and cake at the small café beside the castle for a very reasonable price. After the castle we made our way to Limassol where we all broke off on our own to explore the city. My wife and I had a lovely walk around the city, and lunch in a great little eatery called Petros, which we can highly recommend. After lunch we took a stroll alongside the harbour until it was time to get on the coach again. Finally, before returning to Paphos, we stopped off at Aphrodite’s Rock, which broke the journey back up nicely. All in all it was a really great day out for a fantastic price, and we would both thoroughly recommend this trip.

Booked the day before on-line for myself and 87yr mother. Pick-up 7.30am on time from hotel. Comfortable aircon coach. Got back about 7.30pm. A long but worthwhile day. Excellent trip. Lots of ancient and modern historical sights. Everything it says on Tripadvisor. Polite, professional, efficient (passport collections, etc. at border), knowledgeable guide. Good clean toilet and coffee stops. Safe and cheerful driver.

An experience that will stay with me forever.
This was a fascinating day! Full of information about the varied history of the island. You cross the ‘line’ into Turkish Cypriot occupied territory. This crossing has only been open for a few years, previous to this it was not possible to access the area , which has many historical sites. We passed through the British base at Dhekelia to get to the crossing point (passports are needed). First point of call was the Monastery and tomb of St Barnabas, who apparently brought Christianity to the island. We then went to the ancient city of Salamis, situated looking out to the Mediterranean. A wonderful site , we saw the pillars and marble floors of the Gymnasium, the baths and reconstructed Theatre . All this only a tiny part of the overall site. Archaeological work stopped in 1974 when the island was divided. Then to Medieval walled city of Famagusta, and on to the ‘Ghost City’ of Famagusta which is empty of original population, and remains as it was in 1974 before the Turkish Invasion, a truly moving experience!!! What a day,

It is a trip which worth to go. Crossed the green line, the culture is quite different from the south cyprus. The tour guide is full of knowledge and very experiend. Stongly recommend this tour. Coach is cheap, safe and comfortable. 通过这个旅行团,过了绿线,就到了土耳其领地。带好护照,坐在大巴车上,导游会收集护照,检查完后,还给你。 一个理解塞浦路斯历史的好线路

It was a great tour and at a very competitive price as compared to similar day tours from Paphos area. The tour guide was very informative and friendly. The monastery visits and travel through the Troodos mountains was nice. There were 4 stops - Omodos The Holy Cross Monastery, The famous Kykkos, Chrysoroyiatissa Monastery and a random restaurant near a small village middle of nowhere.
There is only one complaint and feedback I have - the lunch stop was a very poor one. A huge restaurant made of glass and steel - does not feel either traditional or welcoming. The food was poor and prices very high for the quality. We were asked for 13 euros for a green salad! The views and ambience were not nice at all. One is stuck with that restaurant as there are no other there. Instead please let the tourists have a lunch break in Omodos village. There are lot of choices for eating, it is a beautiful village and setting to have lunch and the food is not atrocious.

Thank you for your feedback. We always welcome reviews as a foot for thoughts and imporvements. However need to clear some points -13 Euros per person is for nice buffet lunch with variety of dishes not just a green salad! It seems that there is a misunderstanding - ref restaurant, in our view is a new, modern and is located on our way, just about lunch time. Omodos is a nice place very traditional but is too far to be a stop for lunch.

We had been on a Troodos trip before however it was a few years ago and we enjoyed it the first time and wanted to return. The bus collect us from our designated pick up point more or less on time at 8.15am. Minor disappointment that the pick up point wasnt closer to our apartments, however wasnt too far away.
The guide, I think her name was Sophia, was very informative, sharing history and local information throughout the entire journey.
We stopped at Chrysorrogiatissa Monastery and Kykkos Monastery and has some time to look around. We werent able to visit Throni thomb as the road was closed for repair.
We stopped at a lovely restaurant for lunch which wasnt included in the ticket price, however there was a lovely buffet meal already prepared and ready for us. It was 15 euros for as much food as you liked, fresh fruit and some cypriot cake. There was fish, chicken, salad, vegetables, bread, hummus, couscous, potatoes. Drinks were reasonable prices also. We only has an hour for the lunch stop and felt a little rushed.
We then went to Omodos which was a lovely village with nice shops, restaurants and cafes. The guide took us to the church and gave us some history about it and then we had over an hour free time. Felt that this was too long and we could have had a longer lunch stop. We walked around the village shops and then stopped for a drink.
We then made our way back in the bus to Paphos.

It was a really enjoyable day, Sophia the guide was very informative and was a great guide. The price of 24 euros is very reasonable. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

Had relatives visiting so gave them some choices of things to do/visits and this tour was one of the things they wanted to do. Thought the price was really good value too. Opted for a pick up at the harbour bus station as parking is easy there.

We were kept well informed of sights etc along the way by the guide, which was great and with no worries about driving we could take in all of the sights without worry. We were unable to reach the first venue as the road was closed so had to turn around and head back to Kykkos Monastery, very impressive and well worth a visit!

Stopped for lunch at a roadside restaurant and suspect the food had been cooked a little while as the potatoes were quite cold (buffet style and on second helping they were hot) but the meats were fine. You could help yourself to what you wanted and tea/coffee/beers served to your table.

Had really great views along the way, have to say the driver was excellent looking at some of the places he was able to drive along. Final stop was at a lovely little village of Omodos, very quaint indeed. Had a coffee in the main square and looks to see and plent of gift ideas. Would go back to this village under our own transport for a second look it was so nice.

We were well looked after and would go as far as to say would be happy to do this again when next relatives visit in June.

Although most of the time was spent on the coach, we thought it was anyway very good value for the price. Sofia our guide was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions. We stopped at Kykkos monestary and Omodos village (the stops were a little too short for some on the tour but OK for us and we had to keep to a schedule). Sofia provided background and historical information prior to the stops as well as at the actual places (optional as you could spend the time exploring on your own if you wished). She also informed us about various places of interest and the flora and fauna as we drove through the Troodos mountains. Really excellent and professional guide. We stopped for a buffet lunch (not included in the price and optional). The local food and service was very good but we were shocked at the EUR 8.50 charge for a litre of sparkling mineral water!

Good amount of religious stuff to see & the scenery was stunning. Itinerary advertised was accurate.
Lunch was €13 for a buffet of Greek food but not mandatory as you chose if you wanted to join the buffet queue or order from the menu or eat outside food you’d brought.
        Would recommend.

After 3rd Visit to Paphos decided to do the the trip to the Troodos and Monasteries. Great guide Sophia who was both knowledgeable and informative. I felt her passion both for the job and the religious visits. Made us feel part of the experience. Driver Photis also made us feel safe on the mountain drive. This is primarily a mountain and forest trip with long drives along high twisting roads but it is well worth the twists and bends because the scenery is stunning. The stops at the Chrysoroyiatissa and Kykkos monasteries are well worth the visit with amazingly ornate interiors. The stops and timings are about right throughout the trip although the lunchtime stop was a little disappointing. The visit to Omodos village was interesting and we even had time for a coffee. Our guide was lovely and gave us lots of information throughout the tour. This is a great tour if you want to see parts of rural Cyprus and learn about some of its rural history.

My wife and I, both of us in our mid-sixties, booked this trip through our Mercury Holiday’s rep at our hotel for a cost of €24 each, which we thought was amazing value for this all day tour. We had already been on another day tour run by this company, so we knew that we were going to have a fabulous day out. The coach duly arrived, and we were really happy that Sofia, our guide from the previous trip, was today’s guide also, as she is pleasant, informative and so good at her job. The day was equally as good as our previous trip taking in beautiful monasteries and villages throughout Troodos. Lunch was optional and cost €15 each for quite a fair amount of buffet style food, so worth the money. Again, as before, we had an awesome day out and would thoroughly recommend this trip.

This was well worth it apart from feeling sick from the winding roads on a long stretch. However, the monasteries are fantastic if you like things like that. I was a tad disappointed to find out that most of them have been rebuilt, so there is very little history in the actual stones, but the history surrounding them is very interesting.

The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly (but stern if you did something you are not supposed to, like taking pictures where not allowed). And the driver or the coach was really friendly as well.

Really good tour overall, but READ THE EXTRA INFORMATION!

        1. If you have motion sickness, DON'T GO. There is an hour section around winding and hair pin mountain roads and despite taking anti sickness tablets, I felt awful by the time we got from one of the destinations to the other. Thankfully, that is the only long section of winding road. The others were bearable.

        2. Don't wear short shorts or skirts. Shorts or skirts need to fall to the middle of your knee at least. And if wearing sleeveless or spaghetti strap top, make sure you have a wrap or something as you won't be let into the monasteries, which is pretty much the point of this trip.

Sofia and Adamos were brilliant. We felt safe with Adamos driving us up and down the windy mountain roads . Sofia made the trip interesting. She told us a lot of history but did not overload us with too much information. There were just enough stops including a lovely lunch (price not included). All in all, a wonderful day out. Very convenient pick up and drop off close to our hotel. Very good value for money.
