Didn’t have the wow factor
We had a nice day out and can’t fault Qualiday, from booking right throughout the day all of their staff were friendly and helpful. The guide knew lots of information and was very knowledgable.
The trip itself is a long day ( I wouldn’t recommend it for young children as a lot of us sat on a coach)
The time given in each destination is perfect.
We personally just found the trip around historic Cyprus a bit bland.

Thank you for your comments. Indeed is a long trip, in fact crossing the island! However, we try our best to make it as comfortable as possible.History of Cyprus is so rich that you could talk for ages but definitely we concentrate to more essentials

Very informative tour
Booked this trip before flying out to Cyprus. Communication with Ruslan travel was very good and helpful. We were one of the last to be picked up by the coach outside the Athena Royal, so sat at rear. As other reviews have said this is a long day and a lot of time on the bus, but you do get to see some interesting areas of the Turkish side of Cyprus. The information provided by our guide was very good and informative. Cyprus has a very intersection history having been controlled by a number of different rulers. The Ghost City is very strange with occupied properties on one side of the street and deserted buildings on the other. Well worth doing if you like history, but it is a long day.

Excellent full day out
We were staying in Pathos and booked this trip via Jet2 on the recommendation of a friend.
This trip is a must do for anyone with an interest in the island of Cyprus.
Yes the journey is a long one and two thirds of the time you are sitting on the bus. It is an 11hour day from pick up until drop off.
There were a few other pick ups, as to be expected and a couple of coffee/toilet breaks en route.
Famagusta is a living tragedy and has to be seen to be believed.
Having seen it, Famagusta leaves you bereft.

Our guide Lisa, was excellent, and quite possibly the best guide we have experienced in all our years of travelling.
I highly recommend this trip.

Pick up was slightly late but the journey from Paphos to Famagusta wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. The coach was big, with aircon, and even WiFi and USB! Lots of information about Cyprus history and passing locations was given on the way. A coffee break at a small cafe was scheduled, going out. Border checks at Famagusta were easy. Don't forget your passport! The historic sites visited were interesting. A monastery and ancient ruins. I particularly liked the drive around the 'ghost' town of Varosha. Would have been nice to walk around, but I don't think that's allowed. Famagusta itself is lovely. Lots of places to eat and drink. Euros accepted. Climb the Venetian walls, and enjoy the peace in the mosque. Lovely day, very well organised.

Did this trip after brilliant trips with ruslan before
The guide was amazing with so much information about the areas history etc
A fantastic day and the ghost town tour was fascinating shame we couldn't go in that would have been brilliant but with posters all over saying that if you took photos you could be shot by the Turkish military it was fine
Highly recommended tour definitely one not to be missed ruslan is by far the best company for trips from paphos you can book all over the place but they have an office in the bus station at the harbour
We booked with Georgia at prestige travel next to fat mamma's she's great and so helpful

History and Personal Stories
Oct 2019
Salamis is an extraordinary archaeological site in its own right. Famagusta is a historic fortified port and town. Combine this with their ancient and modern history and the occupation and you have an enthralling trip.

The ghost city, Varosha, and the DMZ bring home the reality of the occupation of the North.

This is a great trip and much can be learnt. Add to this a brilliant tour guide who can share personal stories about the North before, during and after the invasion and this become a must do. Our impressive guide, Eva, had a poignant story to share about the occupation and a mass of knowledge to impart on the history of real Cyprus.

Excellent from start to finish.

We had a very interesting day which had we gone on our own we
would have missed many important facts and history. Our guide Eva because of her own experiences especially the 1974 invasion was exceptional in portraying that period of history and its consequences. Would recommend this one day tour.
