Matla .... You want local? This is it!
Feb 2020
Christian was incredibly generous in bringing us to local spots around Malta. From going to a local coffee shop in Rabat and trying delicious pastizzis in all the while embracing the vibe of locals, to wine testing with Marc (an awesome character that I enjoyed having a few glasses of wine with and a great conversation I won't forget). A taste of Malta breads from a traditional oven made us go back day after day. The tasty olive oil from the branches you get to touch, was a learning experience for me and I'll never taste olive oil the same as I did before this tour. This is an experience not to be missed if you want to get a touch of local Malta foods and artisanal small scale productions. Grab a ride with Christian. He has a lot to share. And yeah.... Go with an empty stomach. You won't regret it.

Fantastic!
Feb 2020 • Friends
My friend and I had an incredible day doing the shared farm tour. It's a great way to see parts of the country/culture that you wouldn't get to otherwise, and the guides go above and beyond with their hospitality. Everything is taken care of for you, you get to meet some local characters, and the food and wine provided is very generous. Highly recommended!

Excellent Way to Spend a Day in Malta
Dec 2019
We spent a day travelling about Malta, outside of the urban areas on the east coast with this tour. Its a great way to encounter the rural part of Malta and the smaller towns. All of our hosts on the tour were engaging and enthused about what they produced. Food was good and the experience was better. It will be the stand out experience of our week in Malta. We wholeheartedly recommend this tour -- full value for the money

The Real Malta - Food, Wine, and Local Charm
Nov 2019
Magnificent small tour. Christian is a top-notch guide. We experienced local food, touring a historic house, a bakery, winery, and an olive farm. This tour was magnificent and is a must do. It's away from the crowds, very educational, and insightful. We had a fun day seeing and learning how the locals work and live in Malta - away from the mass tourism. In short, a culinary and cultural delight. Very enjoyable.

We appreciate so much your kind words. Glad you immediately grabbed our concept and the importance of positive-impact / sustainable tourism! The farmers and artisans within our network benefit from such tours, and without them, we would not be able to taste and enjoy so many delectable items and exclusive venues! So it's a win-win. Thanks again!

Delicious journey away from the crowds
Oct 2019
This food and wine tour was the perfect way to break away from the tourist crowds and get to know Malta's cuisine and culture. Christian and Chiara were excellent guides for our small group. It was clear they had forged relationships with local producers of pastizzi, olive oil, wine, and other foods, and it was through those relationships that we were able to enjoy an authentic, local Malta experience. The people I was traveling with all agreed that this tour was the highlight of our time in Malta.

This was an excellent small group tour. We had a great time making pastizzis, touring an historic house, stopping by an olive press and sampling the olive oil, enjoyed an excellent lunch with wine outdoors with incredible views and truly enjoyed the organic winery tour with more wine tasting. Christian is an excellent guide. The best tour we did in Malta!

Great way to experience the real Malta
Oct 2019
Very professionally organized tour, Christian and Lu picked us up right on time, and all visits were really interesting. The olive producer was first and best, with loads of olive oil sampling, and wines, bruchetta, and cheese that made for a full breakfast! The other visits were less elaborate, but included olive oil pressing, sheep and sheep cheese production, a bakery and a winery. By the end of the day we were getting hungry again, and Christian brought us all Maltese pastizzi and Maltese soft drinks before we were returned to our lodgings. A great day which included sightseeing, on the Victoria Lines and the Dingly Cliffs. This was one of the highlights of our 2-weeks in Malta!

A highlight of my trip
Sep 2019
A perfect day in the Malta countryside. We visited an olive farm, olive oil processor, a sheep farmer, baker and vineyard with wine tasting. Everyone, guides and locals, was warm and welcoming. It was a great way to see another side of life in Malta. And the food was delicious!

Great way to explore the other side of Malta
Booked on this tour during a short stay in Malta and it was great. The initial booking was a little confusing - as they only have space for a maximum of 10 people on the tour you have to email them rather than booking online. But once booked it all ran very smoothly. I was collected from a meeting point in Sliema and a small group of us were taken to Buskett Woodlands to meet another small group from elsewhere on the island. Here a retired baker talked to through baking the local delicacy - ricotta or pea pastries, which we were they able to sample.

Our guide Christian was very knowledgeable and passionate about eco-tourism, sustainability and low impact. He was helped by Chiara who was the person I had been in communication with by email prior to the tour.

Buskett woods are apparently the only wood on Malta. Planted by the knights. We then visited a farmer making sheeps’ cheese which was very tasty, and as it was olive picking season we were also able to visit an olive press and watch that in action. Along the way Christian pointed out some areas of interest, including a drive along the cliff tops. We went to a bakery where we could taste (and buy) some wonderful Maltese bread, and a local vineyard for lunch. The owner makes only natural wines, and is an interesting character. Our final visit was time on a local farm where there was more olive oil and wine tasting as well as a local dip made with beans, and local coffee made with chicory. It was a fascinating tour and I can highly recommend this to anyone who wants an alternative to more traditional sightseeing.
