- Curious731700 contributionsMalta for just half a dayWhat a fabulous time we had, Pierre was so informative and his passion for Malta and its history was infectious. He was entertaining and considerate to our groups needs, whilst drawing us in with his enthusiasm. It was a great trip. Thank youWritten September 18, 2023
- omarfX955LQ0 contributionsGreat guide! Great tour! Great experience!I was looking for a tour to visit the most relevant Jewish historical spots in Malta. The team was very fast to respond and propose a customized half day tour. My guide, Dennis has a lot of knowledge of history, art, religion, and of course Malta. Therefore, the experience was above my expectations!!! Thank you!Written January 21, 2020
- Guide3766300 contributionsOur Malta TourOur guide Alfred and driver Allen were spectacular. Alfred was amazingly knowledgeable about any subject we could quiz him on about Malta's history, geography, or just about anything we could throw at him. These two made our time of Malta one of the highlights of our trip. Our highest recommendation!Written November 12, 2019
- Seaside6416570 contributionsBest Day in GOZO followed by Best Day in MALTA! Two full days! Our wonderful hotel Casa Ellul suggested we try My Maltese Guide for our private tours. I had quite the list of things that we wanted to cover. We were not disappointed! We were picked up by Gertrude and John and headed to the ferry to Gozo. We began at the Church of St John the Baptist, then Ggantia Temple and the windmill. We were able to stop at some other churches before making it to the Gozo salt pans, Dwerja Cliffs and site of the collapsed Azure window. We made our way to Xlendi Bay for an amazing lunch and gelato. We were able to see Ta Pinu and also the citadel and Gozo Cathedral in Victoria. Thank you Gerturdue and Luis for an amazing day. We followed this the next day with a full day in Malta! We began at the Mosta Dome then headed to Rabat and Mdina. Paula, and Mario made our day amazing. We were able to see the St Pauls Grotto and visited catacombs, lovely walking tour of Mdina and toured the Cathedral and museum as well. Mario even took my husband to tour his home village while Paula and I walked. We then proceeded to see Lawrence the Bird man to visit his Harris Hawks and also a surprise Blue Grotto overlook before continuing to Marsaxlokk for a fresh fish lunch and to see Church of Our Lady of Pompeii. Even met Stephen in Costa Coffee! Thank you to everyone at My Maltese Guide for an Amazing two days. Can't imagine doing all we had down without you all. Can't wait to return. We did Valletta on our own to maximize our tours, times and guides!Written September 28, 2019
- WestHills_NancyD0 contributionsA splendid day in MaltaWe had only one day in Malta and decided upon a private tour with My Maltese Guided tours. We hit the jackpot! We were greeted just off the ship by Stephen who took the time to review the highlights of Malta, offered us a map, and decided on a game plan for the day to see as much as we could. We saw so much, but never felt rushed. Stephen's knowledge of the history and local hot spots was fabulous. We had time to stop for photos in some of the best places, were taken down back roads and out of the way spots we never would have seen on our own (or with the ship tours). We even stopped into a local restaurant to taste some pastry treats which some claim are the best on the island! We got to nearly all the island and loved every minute of it. Will definitely be back to Malta - and take another tour - it was fabulous! Top-notch tour company for sure. This company cares about doing it right!!Written September 26, 2019
- mcmsf120 contributionsOutstanding Tour of MaltaAlfred was an excellent tour guide and Leo an excellent driver for the 4 of us, all adults. We enjoyed our tour of historic Valleta, but most enjoyed our visit to Mdina, where we also had lunch at Coogi's, much recommended. Alfred was very knowledgeable and also responsive to our requests. You can't go wrong w this service.Written September 23, 2019
- DLVPerth0 contributionsMy Malta ExperienceStephen Place (My Maltese Guide) Stephen was recommended to my husband and I by a fellow passenger on the plane when we were flying to Malta to pursue our family heritage. We found Stephen to be an utterly charming man, with an encyclopaedic knowledge of Malta. Stephen and his guides turned a good holiday into a thoroughly memorable one. Thank you so much Stephen. We unreservedly recommend “My Maltese Guide” to anyone going to Malta.Written September 17, 2019
- jbg740 contributionsIncredible Tour with an Outstanding GuideWe had a great guide - Miriam - for this tour. She picked us up from our hotel in Valletta and took us to the ferry to Gozo. Once in Gozo we had a comfortable van where Miriam and our driver took us around the island. We visited Ggantija which was spectacular then had a great meal at a little restaurant in Xlendi which has a nice little harbor. We went to the Inland Sea/Dwerja and had a great boat ride. This is where the Azure Window was location. After that we saw the beautiful Basilica Ta'Pinu and visited La Cittadella in Victoria. Miriam speaks fluent English and has a lot of knowledge of the area. She is an excellent tour guide and I highly recommend her.Written September 16, 2019
- TravelXpertJill0 contributionsMalta left us SpeechlessWe added one extra hour in order to accommodate most of the Malta highlights we wanted to see while in Valletta from our cruise ship. Which sailing into and out of Valletta is absolutely breathtaking. Be sure to be on your deck to witness the magnificent splendor of Malta! We visited: • World UNESCO Heritage Site, Valletta, Malta’s capital city • Visited the Marina • Took the 25-minute boat ride along the sea caves at Blue Grotto • Had some cake at Fontanella Tea Garden while sitting on the terrace and enjoyed the views • Enjoy a guided tour through the medieval streets of Mdina and Rabat Thank you so much for providing such a highly qualified tour guide in Dennis. We were all captivated by the beauty of your island and Dennis educated us about your country's history and culture. We were all so thankful for Dennis's knowledge, ease of adapting to our extra hour of our tour and his remarkable personality. We entered Malta in awe of it's beauty and left wanting to visit many more times and quickly became our favorite destination on our Mediterranean vacation. Dennis went above and beyond for all of us and never missed a beat in describing all details in our travel spots. I highly recommend your company and most of all, Dennis. Dennis was professional and amazing! Thank you for getting this together for me and you should be very proud and confident in the service Dennis provides. As a travel agent in the USA, I will highly recommend your company to my colleagues and clients and tell them to ask for Dennis! Malta left us speechless!Written September 12, 2019
- MaryN9780 contributionsFantastic tripWe had a lovely guide Ciara and driver. The guide discussed with us what we wanted to do and first of all we went to a beautiful fishing port and strolled around a local market. She told us lots about the history of Malta and explained each place we went to. We then went to the blue grotto where we got a boat to see the caves which were very impressive, then we had time for a swim. Next stop was Mdina which was a stunning hilltop medieval village (Game of Thrones) which she walked round with us and explained all about its history and the locality. Despite being a bit longer than we had booked nothing seemed too much trouble and everything was at a relaxed pace. We were dropped off in Valletta with lots of information about where to go and what to look for. A memorable half day trip enjoyed by the whole familyWritten August 25, 2019
- GWMS630 contributionsGozoVery informative well organised, highlight was the boat trip from the inland sea. Thanks to Miriam and the drivers for a most friendly and enjoyable day.Written August 14, 2019
- Yasemin B0 contributionsExcellent tour of Malta- highly recommendedWe had a wonderful day with Dennis and Maria. Dennis is an amazing guide and a true gem of a person. He was so passionate and knowledgeable about Malta and it's history ! Maria was an excellent driver who was right there at every stop with a nice cooled down car. We can't wait to come back to Malta as we would love to spend more time on this beautiful island.Written August 12, 2019
- m1andm30 contributionsVery InformativeWe had a private half day tour/shore excursion for 6 which was great. We waited a few minutes for the guide after disembarkation, but the rest of the day was smooth and she certainly gave us great attention on the tour. She tailored the day to our preferences and was extremely knowledgeable about Malta. There was no language barrier and we saw everything we had hoped to see. Highly recommend at least a half day tour of this interesting island.Written August 6, 2019

- CoryR6780 contributionsGreat Introduction to MaltaWe contacted My Malta Tours at the last minute after a recommendation from our Airbnb host. Stephen was very responsive putting together a four hour tour based on our interests. Nick arrived with a driver and we spent four hours getting a crash course in many things Malta. Nick took our interests into consideration and walked us through history, geography, the various occupying forces, the culture, the language and any questions we could come up with. This is just what we asked for and he knew so much. This was our first trip to Malta and I would highly recommend Nick and My Malta Tours as a great way to be introduced or learn more about this fascinating country.Written July 27, 2019

Well, you really can't experience everything on Malta in a day of course since the island is so packed with sights, history and things to do. However, with the Malta Loop tour you can certainly cover extensive ground, see many of the top attractions and definitely figure out what you want to come back to if you have more time. Our guide was Miriam and our driver Noel. Both were perfect. Miriam was full of great information and details on everything we saw and tried to make sure we got the most out of our day. She couldn't have done that without her teammate in this adventure, Noel. He was always dropping us off in a perfect place and the pick-ups were easy. You simply cannot see as much as we did without a private guide and driver like this. Sometimes in the past we've had guides who maybe go overboard with history, or the opposite and seem to have little knowledge. What was great about this tour is we had a perfect balance between information, time to explore and some personalization of the itinerary. Highly recommended.

Our private full day tour of Malta was on 4th October 2018, and our tour guide Nick was just the best!! We were two couples, and were staying in Valletta and had spent the previous day looking around the wonderful city. When Nick met us at our hotel he outlined the day he had planned for us, starting in Valletta. My husband said that we’d already seen everything Valletta. Nick dismissed that, and said he would show us Valletta. Well - he sure did! And that was just the beginning of a fantastic day. Nick has a great personality, and sense of humour. We had lots of laughs, as well as learning SO much about Malta and it’s history!! It was such a full day - touring Valletta, learning all about the Knights of St John. We then went to Marsaxlokk, a pretty little fishing village, then to the Blue Grotto. Although nice and sunny, the sea was too rough for the boats to operate. Never mind - on to Hagar Qim, the ancient ruins. Then Mdina, and the great view over the tiny island of Malta. Then we went to Mosta, to see the church hit by a bomb during WW2 - wow!! By the time we got back late in the afternoon, it was pouring rain. We drove through the Three Cities, but didn’t get out of the van. No disappointment at all. With Nick as our guide, the four of us had an amazing day. Nick’s knowledge impressed us, he made our day so interesting, and we learnt so much about the beautiful island of Malta. Big thanks to Nick for making our day so great! I must also mention our van driver, Andrew, who drove us safely around all day. We can highly recommend My Maltese Guide. It has been a very friendly and professional experience – from the time of my first email enquiry back in January, all communication, booking the tour, and the tour itself.

Excellent day. Had a driver and personal guide, both spoke excellent English. Saw many highlights of Malta (main island). Alfred was quite knowledgeable and Andrew was an excellent driver. Schedule had to be adjusted, and both were very accommodating. Would highly recommend My Maltese Guide....just book direct with them on their website vs. using a third party or cruise ship. You won't regret the investment in this quality company. Jim and Betty, Kentucky, USA

We have booked and paid $650 on April 18 for this private, full-day, free-cancellation tour scheduled for April 23. We were traveling to Malta on April 22, departing from Croatia in the afternoon, with transfer through Germany. We have a valid EU Digital Covid Vaccine certificate, having been fully vaccinated with the single-dose Janssen vaccine approved by the European Union. We have checked reopen.europa.eu for Covid travel restrictions and have confirmed that both Germany and Malta allow entry to travellers who have been vaccinated with EU approved vaccines. To our knowledge, we have done everything that could reasonably be expected to prepare for our trip and we were happily on our way.
Unfortunately, we were informed at the airport that Germany now, and as of recently, requires the Janssen vaccine to be supplemented with a booster, or a single shot of another vaccine, and so we were denied boarding. I have contacted the tour operator to advise them of the fact that we are unable to arrive, requesting a refund or rescheduling of the tour for a later date. This was in the late afternoon on April 22. The operator replied the following day (the day of the tour) and told us that she will get back to us on Monday (April 25). On April 25, we have received a follow-up reply from her advising us that she cannot issue a refund "because of the policy of Viator and the expenses for the guide and the transport. This services were organized and pre paid in advance."
Let's put this in perspective. The tour was booked during off-season. The tour involves a private guide driving us around Malta in a private vehicle. NO COSTS HAVE BEEN INCURRED. The tour allows free cancellation with at least 24 hours notice. So, technically, yes, the tour operator did not need to refund the money, or offer to reschedule, because we were a few hours late cancelling the booking and so I commend My Maltese Guide for securing such a well-earned profit. Well done!

Hi Zbigniew,
Firstly we are sorry for your bad experience in Germany. However, it seems clear you had issues with your travel documentation, which we of course had nothing to do with us.
You also agreed that you cancelled way past the free cancellation deadline, so we are unsure on this attempt to damage our business. Your title reads "you are just a number", but I believe this refers to your experience in the German airport and not with us. We had a very personal 1 to 1 communication with you and all our clients, so you are certainly not just a number with us.
To clarify the incorrect assumptions made in this "review", it is not low season here, a guide and executive vehicle were booked and committed to your tour, hence they did not take other business, so full costs were incurred.
We suggest you retract this misleading and malicious post.
Wishing you a lovely weekend

We booked a full day Malta Loop tour. Malta is a stunning country. It was the second time we have been there and we still fell like we only scratched the surface. Our guide Sylvia was amazing. Her knowledge was endless and her enthusiasm for her job was great. I would highly recommend booking a tour with My Maltese Tour Guide.

We used this company to do 2 tours - walking tour of Valletta and a full day Malta tour. Both were excellent and planning and booking with Stephen - the owner - was like dealing with a friend. Our day with our guide Nick was particularly informative, entertaining and a wonderful day well spent. No Malta stone was left untouched. We loved it!

I'll preface this review by mentioning that it is my first visit to Malta, and I am traveling with my Dad, and we both have traveled a fair bit in different places, mostly in Europe. Several years ago we realized that good, private tours were the way to go, while expensive, the time is much better spent getting the full attention and interaction of the guide, as opposed to spending half the tour loading and unloading people from busses from one of the big group tours.
We booked the Full Day Malta tour a few months before our trip, having great communication with Stephen about the various details of the trip. The day before I received an email that our guide, Nick, would meet us in the hotel lobby in the morning. We descended to the lobby a bit early and found Nick already waiting for us - a few short minutes after an introduction to the tour, our driver arrived, and we set off. Now, in our 8 hours with Nick, we saw many sights in Malta, from coast to coast. I won't go into the details of the sights, but suffice to say that we saw a lot. Along the way, Nick filled us in on not only the rich history of the Island, but also on geography, religion, and aspects of life in modern-day Malta. Of course, the running theme was the history of the Island, as we view sights such as the ancient Temples and natural wonders like the Blue Grotto.
I have always said that a good guide makes the trip. Nick was an excellent guide - picking up on places we wanted to spend more (or less) time and gauging the tour based on on conversations and interests. Nick was a dynamic guide and the history and his way of talking about the history is truly immersive. He is very good at what he does, and seems to enjoy it. We never felt rushed, and at the same time not a moment was wasted. This delicate balance made it feel that the pace was perfect - my dad is a retiree and Nick was mindful of warning us both of the sometimes uneven terrain.
One of the best parts of having a good private guide is the "insider" information they provide - the information that doesn't make it into the tour books and postcards. Often the most fascinating aspects of a historical event are those that aren't widely publicized - but give keen insight into what was going on in the world at the time. My dad is a voracious reader and read many books about Malta before we made this trip - and he was amazed (as was I) about the interesting aspects of history that Nick shared with us that never made it to those books - facts backed up by almost "secret" details in a statue, painting, grave marker, etc. It's this aspect, along with the personal attention and genuine friendliness of a guide like Nick that makes the cost of such a tour well worth it.
I give Nick and My Maltese Guide the highest rating possible, book them if you can!

Malta is a revelation and using My Maltese Guide private tours is the best way to explore this wonderful island country! Miriam took great care of our group of 16 friends cruising the area together. We were able to capture so much of the breathtaking scenery, fascinating history and stunning sites in Valletta, Mdina and the countryside. Hiring the team at My Maltese Guide is an absolute must for anyone wanting to explore this fantastic part of the world - we'll be back! ERIC

What vehicle will you use for 2 pax?
Written August 6, 2019
What car are they going to use for 4 pax?
Written May 26, 2018
I don't know about a 4 person car. We had 6 people and they used a small van. We had a driver and a guide who said up front so all the clients sat in the two rows of seats behind them. And as I said in my review the guide turned sideways to talk most of the time and those of us in back had trouble hearing her. But we are all in our 60s so maybe your hearing will be better than ours.
