Out of the 2 hop on hop off bus options, my friends and I opted for the Malta Sightseeing company purely as we were approached by them first as we boarded the ferry to Gozo. “Big mistake” as confirmed by a waiter at a restaurant in Gozo. The bus schedule was a myth, coming and going at its own convenience. When it was actually on time, the driver decided to stop and take a smoke. When told to come 10 mins late for the next one, we were at the stop promptly on time with other customers only to find it came earlier and left, leaving us waiting for another hour (as the next one was 15 mins late). Because of these delays we spent more time waiting for buses then actually seeing the sites we came to see.

There are a choice of two open top bus tours on Gozo, the Green Bus and the Red Bus. Both buses have the same frequency and stops but go in opposite directions round the island so how do you choose? When we arrived at the ferry touts were available to sell you your ticket. On the day that we travelled both were offering a 'special' rate of E10. If you don't buy there, booths are available when you arrive. We chose the Green Bus because their leaflet looked more professional and they offered free WiFi.
Both buses were waiting when we arrived in Gozo and were due to leave at the same time. I was picking up a WiFi signal from the red bus but none from my Green bus and we were not issued with a Password. The red bus left on time, whereas it was only when we were due to leave that someone turned up and started issuing tickets to everyone on board. This meant that we were nearly 10 minutes late leaving. This late running turned out to be a common theme during the day whereas when we passed the red buses they appeared to be running on time.
There was no real excuse for late running because one of the advertised stops was missed out because, we were told, the road was closed.
Commentary is given through plug-in headphones. Nobody told you which channel broadcast in which language and on one bus it was not working.
The last bus that we decided to take should have got us back to the harbour in plenty of time for the ferry but even though the ferry was running late we were the only passengers allowed to board (first off the bus and running) with everyone else having boarding refused at the barrier even though they could see us having just gone through 'next ferry, next ferry'
Whether the red bus tour would have been any better, I have no idea; but it couldn't be much worse.

Total waste of money. Don't start until gone 11am and last bus about 3pm. If you get off once and have a decent look round your next bus is the last to get you back. Commentary on neither bus we were on actually worked at all. In summary we paid €70 for 2 adults & 2 kids to travel from Bugibba to Valletta and back. Local bus would have been €12.

What a disastrous company and experience. We purchased hop on hop off tickets to get a tour around Gozo. In the middle of the trip (centre of Victoria) our driver told is they can't make the full tour because the road is closed. He advised to wait for the next bus (45 min.) however the next bus didn't arrive for next 80mins. In the meantime two buses from 'gizo sightseeing ' (includid bus with our original driver) arrived in branded buses with private groups telling us we still need to wait - very ugly behaviour. Do not trust this company, do not buy tickets. Use local transport to save you money, time and nerves. Could give 0 score but 1 is minimum. No more 'gozo sightseeing '.

We booked this at a kiosk. Captain Morgan and it is the worst tour of my travelling life and I have been travelling for 59 years
No map or info was given on boarding the boat
Arm bands of different colours were put on with no explanation of meaning
The boat had loud unpleasant music
There were not enough buses on arrival so we had to wait in the sun standing for 15 minutes. The bus drivers were very rude and unhelpful
The sheet describing each stop was so brief you had no idea what to do once you got off the bus
The audio told you what was coming up but as you were not there yet it made no sense Were we you to remember all that detail for 15-30 minutes so when you arrived you knew what was up?
If you arrive in the small villages 1:00-4:30 nothing is open and you will be lucky to get a bottle of water
So for fun in malta look elsewhere

Update the buses with at least new seats. Audio system non-functional. Although earphones are given out they did not work on any of the buses. This also applies to Gozo buses. Waste of money and time. Public transport cheaper and more informative.

It was so so great, we are from London and we was just about to get on the ferry to Gozo when we came across a lovely guy called “Sacha” he explained the bus tour very well so as soon as we got off we went on and it was fantastic. Malta is fantastic and the bud tour staff were very friendly, information was constantly being told to us by head phones we were given and I am really happy by the experience.

Got tickets to explore Gozo but found the journey time long. Bus didn’t go to all stops on route. Very expensive. We got off at one stop to explore and got a bolt service to join it again later. Wish we had just explored the island that way as bus didn’t really go to the highlight of the islands. Wouldn’t recommend unless perhaps you don’t want to get off. The commentary is also very boring

Absolutely brilliant and bus drivers are amazing drivers my heart was in my mouth going through the small streets but overall got to see all of gozo will worth doing if you visit
