About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- D874FFfionab0 contributionsEducational and enjoyableA fascinating trip. Guiseppe our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us a real insight into the current geological activity. He is a great communicator and made sure everyone in the group was looked after. Although it was snowy, the hike was reasonably easy for anyone of average fitness. I learned a lot, saw wonderful views and thoroughly enjoyed the experienceWritten January 9, 2025
- Julie B0 contributionsVolcano hikeGreat trip with a great guide (France). Lots of information on the geology and some great views/photo opportunities. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone with even the slightest interst in geology.Written January 2, 2025
- 598lucm0 contributionsAn awesome experience !!!I happened to be there during the November eruption and went on the tour with Giuseppe as the guide. It was a small group and it was perfect <3 We managed to get a great view of the eruption and Giuseppe (volcanologist from Italy) explained how volcan works.Written December 30, 2024
- 864israelk0 contributionsGreat hike! This was a great, small excursion with a fantastic geological expert. It was about a 5 km hike roundtrip and was steep in some areas. Very doable but could be a little challenging for some. Highly recommended to see inactive but warm lava flows and great views from top.Written December 29, 2024
- tomaszkM8386RM0 contributionsSimply AmazingHighly recommended. We took our tour 30.11.2024. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and explained everything about volcanos, lava flows and everything in between. To my surprise, he took us fairly close to the erupting volcano (safe distance obviously) but close enough where we could smell and see the boiling lava inside of the erupting volcano, and the lava flow. It was amazing. I am really glad we booked this tour and would do it again in a heartbeat. From the parking lot we hiked about 1.5 hours to the site and 1.5 back. The hike is easy, but you do have to be prepared for the weather. when we hiked the temp was about -8 Celsius with 30 km per hour winds, but the views were definitely worth it. as long as you have layers of clothing and something to cover your face it's not bad at all.Written December 3, 2024
- 7kathrinl0 contributionsBreathtaking!! Trip of a lifetimeVery passionate and knowledgeable guide. Small group, almost one on one experience. The picture opportunities were amazing. Would definitely recommend this tour.Written December 1, 2024
- Richard S0 contributionsVolcano HikeBooked the tour several days before the eruption occurred on Wednesday 20th November. What luck! This was a small group with geologist France. A fantastic hike and great view of the eruption. Learnt a lot about the geology of the area and in particular lavas. Truly an experience to remember. France thanks so much for your expertise.Written November 28, 2024

- Jaime K0 contributionsAmazing, fun-filled caving experience in a natural Lava Tunnel with an awesome tour guide! This Lava Tunnel Caving experience was absolutely amazing and is one of the top highlights of my holiday! The natural Lava Tunnel was untouched by man-made modifications like ramps or lights, which made the whole adventure feel more authentic and immersive. Being so close to ancient rock formations was incredible, and the different rock formations, like ionization or dried lava on the walls, were absolutely captivating. Our tour guide France was fantastic from start to finish. Her fun and energetic vibe set the tone right from the pick-up and continued throughout the entire experience, even during the drop-off. As an experienced geologist, she enriched the tour with fascinating insights about the cave's history and geology. She also did an excellent job supporting the whole group which was made up of several different ability levels, such as pointing out more challenging spots for the more experienced or athletic people, and showing easier paths for the others. If you're looking for an adventure that combines nature, geology, and a bit of a workout, this is it! Highly recommend this as a must-do for a trip to Iceland, and if you're unsure, I also tried the "famous" Lava Tunnel, and this was far better, had more opportunity for photos, got BETTER photos, and was more interactive and felt more personal with a smaller group.Written November 15, 2024
- Chris K0 contributionsAwesome and knowledgeable!Very interesting. France, our guide, was very knowledgeable and explained things in understandable terms. She was pleasant and very eager to answer questions. Thanks France! Highly recommended.Written November 5, 2024
- Mi-shell270 contributionsEnriching HikeThis was such a cool tour! We had a small group so we moved quickly and had more time for questions and exploring. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and a great teacher. I recommend taking this hike with a geologist specifically, because if I had not been with her I would have just looked at rocks and moved on. It added a layer of depth and understanding. It’s very interesting how lava varies based on exposure to different elements. So glad I went on this tour, it was one of the highlights of my trip to Iceland!Written October 22, 2024
- L9079BOjimm0 contributionsVolcanos 101 plus a great hikeAn awesome tour but don't expect to see orange lava flowing down a mountain like the picture! Of course not but this was still a great hike. Our tour guide Guiseppe was a great host and educated the group on all things volcano. It was like taking a field trip with a professor. The hike is not strenuous for anyone that is somewhat fit. There is a steep climb but the trail is well defined and there are no rocks or slabs to climb over. The lava field was very interesting and features steam and heat escaping from under the lava field. Ample time to explore and have lunch. Bring your own snacks and water. Guiseppe stopped to and from the trailhead for a WC break at a very cool bubbling thermal area. Great value.Written September 26, 2024
- paolopQ7928GU0 contributionsGreat way to learn about volcanoesFantastic outing. Geologist France, our guide, is incredible knowledgeable offering much insight into the volcanic eruptions, rocks lava fields we walked through. We learned so much and had a great time.Written July 11, 2024
- DABLJB0 contributionsWonderful tour, very knowledgeable tour guideAmazing hike that took us to lava flows from 2021 that still are venting warm air. Our tour guide, France, who is from Australia was incredibly knowledgeable and is an experienced geologist and volcanologist. It’s obvious she enjoys guiding the tours and it was a pleasure to be with her. My daughter who is a rock hound was in heaven on this trip.Written June 20, 2024
- A7037JEmichaelw0 contributionsGreat experience hiking on the volcanoWe had a great volcano hike. Our guide, Giuseppi , was passionate and knowledgeable. We got some good exercise without it being too strenuous and got some great views from the top. Hiking in a lava field was like hiking on another planet, then we found a crack that was still warm 2 years after the lava stopped flowing. Other times, it seemed more like hiking on the moon or Mars. One minor problem: bathroom at the base camp parking lot was closed. We had a lots of fun!Written May 28, 2024

What more could you ask for. A knowledgeable guide, great history and beautiful scenery. It is obvious Jasmine loves what she does, very enthusiastic about the complicated geology of the golden circle area but at the same time makes it easy to understand. I highly recommend this tour, but only if you don’t care to be on a bus /van with a lot of people and want to learn a lot

The geologist tour guide was fantastic at explaining the geology of the national park, geysers, waterfalls, and volcanic cones. She also knows the history of Iceland and the places we visited. Her patience with our physical condition (not the best for me) on the hikes was heart warming. Highly recommend this tour!

To the Thingvellir National Park to see Europe and America being pulled apart, the Geysir Strokkur which are amazing - even if they did not perform to their full height , the Gullfoss Waterfall with ice was astonishing, and the Kerid Crater very beautiful as the sun was setting. Our Geologist with us all the way.
The only thing that lets this down was the tour vehicle was just was not big enough for 6 adults ... having to unfold ourselves from the bench seats.

Jasmin's tour was awesome! So fascinating learning the geology of the area by someone so passionate about volcanoes (and Iceland).
We visited the 4 major stops of the Golden Circle and spent a perfect amount of time at each.
The group was small so perfect for plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Some hiking so be prepared.
Three recommendations for future participants - wear sunscreen, bring a refillable water bottle and something cushy to put behind you as the seat belt in the middle back seat is quite uncomfortable.

It was incredible. She showed us so many cool things in Iceland. She even made time for me to see Bobby Fischer’s grave. Which originally was not on the tour. Excellent!!
