We’ve been on several tours in Iceland by the time we did a private Landmannalaugar tour with Friend in Iceland and their tour was easily our favourite. Saga Jen was a fantastic driver and guide, safely navigating us through the highlands in a comfortable 4x4 car (Toyota Land Cruiser). As it's Iceland, be prepared with "all-weather gear". It would be a good idea to bring your own food too but Saga Jen dropped us off frequently in stores and shops so we never ran out of food and drinks. I would happily go on another private tour with Friend In Iceland again!

We had an unforgettable trip! Gunnar is incredibly knowledgeable and was able to show us so many places in Iceland that we never would have seen if he was not our guide. By hiring Gunnar, we were able to just sit back and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Iceland. This was the best trip that my family has ever taken and so much of that has to do with the fact that we hired Gunnar to be our guide.

We did a pre-cruise 2-day private tour at Reykjavik, followed by a 1.5 day tour at port stop Akureyri, amazing experience. The tour company is so knowledgeable & accommodating. We did a private South Coast tour, and I have to say it was one of the best tours I have ever been on. Our driver, Jón, was amazing and very informative. We had so much fun learning about Iceland, seeing so many beautiful sights and making wonderful memories. I would highly suggest using this company for your tour in Iceland, you won't regret it!

Gunnar and Saga were our guides, they were very kind, patient, thoughtful and accommodating! Even though Iceland weather was unpredictable, we had fun on rainy days, and still went to all the outdoor locations when the weather permitted. Gunnar and Saga made the experiences extra fun! A very memorable experience! Thanks to Gunnar, he was really attentive. The arrangements were great, loved him so much! I had an unforgettable birthday here and saw very, very beautiful scenery. Gunnar was our guide for an eight-day private tour in which we navigated the South Coast, Highlands, Golden Circle, Diamond Circle, and several places in between. He even revamped our itinerary on the fly to include a hike to the Fagradalsfjall volcano eruption site. Our family of five - my wife, three young adult children, and myself - had an extremely memorable and special time. Gunnar is extremely friendly, knowledgable, and very accommodating to the needs of our family. Our time with him was extremely educational and loads of fun. He showed us how Iceland is a truly magical place, and we look forward to returning. My husband, 15 year-old and I did three tours with Gunnar: The Golden Circle, The South Coast and the Snaefellsness Peninsula. Not only did we enjoy the rides but also Gunnar's company, reliability and thoughtfulness. He is punctual, drives carefully, and surprises you with extra touches. For instance, when I mentioned that I would love to try Icelandic beef soup, he bought me one. He also made stops along the way to buy us fresh mushrooms, strawberries and ice cream. If we ever return to Iceland (and I hope we do), we will not hesitate to hire him again.

We booked a private 2 day tour down the south coast of Iceland together with Gunnar. He is such a nice guy that knows everything about Iceland and can tell you a nice fairy tale about every rock or waterfall you pass by. Most important for us was, that we are somehow off the tourist tracks and Gunnar fulfilled this wish. Sometimes it felt like we were the only ones on the island. This trip is absolutely worth it. We had a wonderful time doing a two day private tour with Gunnar to the south coast. Gunnar was very responsive and helpful with planning the trip, and recommended an excellent hotel to stay on the south coast. We learnt a lot about Icelandic history and culture from him. He is reliable and drives very safely, even in deep Icelandic fog! Gunnar also organised a great ice cave tour for us. We’d go again without any hesitation!!!

Gus is 10 stars!! We could not recommend Friend in Iceland more. We spent a couple of days in Iceland at the end of January/start of February 2022. As we did not have a huge amount of time we opted to book with Friend in Iceland and are so glad we did. Thanks to Gus we were able to see a huge amount in a short space of time. Gus is super knowledgable and very attentive. He was fabulous with his recommendations and went out of his way to make sure this trip was a special one for us! Which it was!! We can't wait to go back to Iceland and book in again with Gus!

Xiaojuan is a very nice tour guide, she is warm and careful. She arranged the schedule very well and drove very smoothly. He also shared with us a lot of Icelandic customs, legends and stories, and took us to see some scenery that tourists can't see. It was a great trip! I look forward to visiting Iceland with Xiaojuan again in summer.

We rented a car via Friend in Iceland Tours and their customer service was second to none, would highly recommend them for your excursus or other needs when visiting Iceland.

I stopped in at the last minute and Friend In Iceland found me a reasonable rental car for my drive to the volcano (Name of which I won't try to spell). They were very friendly and accommodating and I would certainly visit them again for any future travel or sightseeing needs!
