If you are visiting Iceland and want to know about Iceland's history, this walking tour is a great way to do it. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, weaving together Iceland's Viking roots, folklore, and modern culture with passion and humor. The pace was relaxed, and we learned so much about Iceland's rich heritage while enjoying seeing historic sites and getting a little exercise too!

Our guide (Lalli) gave us a fantastic tour of the city centre as well as telling a great story about the entire history of Iceland. Would definitely recommend for anyone of all ages!

My fiance and I had a wonderful time with Lalli as he led us through downtown Reykjavik and shared history from the beginning of settlement at Iceland to the modern day. He got us laughing and packed as much info into two and a half hours as could be possible. Our tour group also stepped into a few buildings (City Hall and a fun market) just as folks were getting a bit cold, so we were able to stay warm and happy :). If you're contemplating choosing this tour we could not recommend it more highly, we enjoyed every minute of it!

We had an amazing tour of Reykjavik with our guide Lalli. He not only provided a great narrative about the entire history of Iceland while tying it to city features, but was also able to answer all the questions we asked. Even better, he was able to adjust the tour for some treacherous weather conditions. Highly recommend!

Great walking tour with Lalli, he was knowledgeable about the history and took us to see Lokastígur street (named after the Norse god Loki), the Einar Jonnson Scultpure Garden, City Hall and others (don’t want to spoil too much!) It was so interesting to hear about Icelandic history and how everything developed. Lalli was a talented story teller, kept everyone engaged and had some good jokes in his back pocket. Would recommend for anyone interested in getting a deep dive and quenching their thirst for knowledge 😇

Lalli was a great source of information, combining historic with personal bits to weave a intrigate web of Iceland. All filled with the good bits...food and drink. Lalli was a great tour guide who taught my girlfriend and I a ton about the history of Iceland. We had a great time talking with him. He is a wealth of knowledge about Icelandic history and the current state of the island and her people. Even though the weather was rather tough, we didn't care because we had such a great time.

If you do any tours whilst in Reykjavik this one is an absolute must! Our guide Lalli was interesting, funny, passionate and very knowledgeable about this amazing country! I mean, who better to tell you about Iceland than one of the direct descendants of some of its very first settlers? The hot dogs were incredible too! This was an awesome way to start our trip to Iceland, and I highly recommend that anyone starting in Reykjavik start with this tour! It ended up being just us and Lalli the guide and he was great- funny, informative, and we learned so much about Iceland and the city. 10/5 stars!

There are plenty of tourist tours around, where they suggest you go into the "puffin" stores with stuff you could buy on Amazon and tell you easily google-able building histories. This is not that tour. Lalli is a great storyteller, and through your walk you get the whole dark, gritty, blood history of iceland with personality and perspective, all questions addressed, and historical context for the rest of the world. If you want a real meaty true city tour with depth, this is your tour.

We took this tour on our first day in Reykjavík, and it was a fabulous introduction to the history of the country and Reykjavík. Lalli has a great sense of humor which kept us engaged despite our jet lag. He gave us great tips for the rest of our trip and the lamb hotdog at end of our walk was an unexpected treat! Would definitely recommend!

We booked the Funky History Walking Tour. Our guide was Lalli. He was really great as he took us on a tour of Reykjavik while telling the whole history of Iceland from the beginning. He has the perfect personality for this and he really enjoys what he does. The pace and length of the tour was perfect.
