- camnowik980 contributionsA moonscape airportWhat really impressed me most on the ride to the Reykjavik airport international was the landscape. At either side of the road the land was craggy and dark tar-like,as some outer space landscape running for miles along either side toward the airport. Then, once inside the flughaven/airport it opens up into a huge area that can only be compared to a shiny wooden floor of a gymnasium. Instead of the usual cubby seating areas near the gates that are common in the States, there are only posts of elastic taped barriers which lead to buses ready to drive passengers to the aircraft for boarding. This scene scape both outside and inside the Reykjavik airport is quite surprising and something peculiar to remember of my time spent in Iceland.Written December 31, 2024

- craigwY6767KV0 contributionsAppalling service not enough transportWe booked online prior to arrival for a specific time of 16-15pm transfer (clearly stated on our ticket). We arrived at the bus stop at 16-10pm to be told the bus was full. We were then informed it would be another hour before the next bus. Simply Awful service, it cost us £58 to go with FlyBus as we were not prepared to wait an hour in very cold weather.Written November 1, 2024

- MaryannL5210 contributionsConvenient and ReasonableWe scheduled the trip from the airport to our hotel before arriving in Iceland. Booking by phone was very easy. We arrived early for the appointed time and the bus driver was kind enough to open the bus for us. We were taken to the bus terminal where we boarded a smaller bus. Not all buses can drive to all hotels because of road restrictions. We were dropped off several blocks from our hotel. A young lady offered to help with our bags and directed us on the short walk to the hotel. We did not use this service for our departure. Be aware that If you choose this option, you need to allow plenty of time for pick up and transfer. We would recommend 4 hours. Taxis are extremely expensive but do offer a more convenient ride to the very busy airport.Written August 24, 2024
- 262dineshd0 contributionsMixed experienceRequested hotel drop off. Instead got an offer to be dropped at a bus stop. Luckily before boarding the bus, the agent at the airport was such a great guy that he even turned his computer screen towards me to show how I should proceed to the hotel from the bus stop. If not , we would have been stranded ! Even after that, it was not easy dragging luggage up a hill road after nearly 24 hours of travelling. Therefore if being dropped at a bus stop , think twice , unless u are sure of the way to the hotel after being dropped off.Written August 14, 2024
- MatrixBGD0 contributionsReliable, fast but doesn't come cheap.Ticket office just after your clear the customs. It isn't cheap but it's reliable. Next time I'll just rent a car, because in some cases it is cheaper, especially if you go on a holiday with another couple.Written August 9, 2024
- romadaro0 contributionsEfficient ReturnThe return from the city to the airport was very efficient, probably because we kinda knew the drill of where the Bus Stop was, in addition to having to transfer buses at the City Terminal. Once you know how it works, it's easy. The bus was within 5 minutes of the pickup time that was designated on my confirmation and the transfer bus to the airport was at the terminal when we arrived, so the driver transferred our luggage and we just got on the bus for the final leg to the airport. A very different experience from arrival due to a very rude driver who acted as if we should know the process and off loaded our luggage in the middle of the Central Terminal parking lot even though some of the transfer buses hadn't arrived yet. So, fortunately, the return was fast and efficient.Written August 1, 2024

- Ashinyla0 contributionsTerrible Customer Service, Very Rude, Very Expensive, LiesAfter a snafu with canceled flights, we found ourselves in the position of needing to stay in Iceland for an extra day. Since we had already turned in our car, I asked the hotel I just booked if they had a shuttle. They recommended one of the options at the arrivals hall. When I approached the counter, the 2 people were talking and didn't even acknowledge me for a second. I said we would need a round-trip ticket to stop number 9. There was no courtesy, just a straight face as if she was bored and annoyed that I bothered her. I set the pick-up for 8:30 the next morning. Then when she said the cost, I was shocked. $123.78 for 2 people round trip?!?! It's just a bus trip!! Having little choice, I paid. At this point, I'm out around $500 between this and a last-minute hotel room. The next day my husband and I waited in the hotel lobby outside stop number 9 until 8:25. Then we stood with the crowds watching for busses. The paperwork said we needed to be there at 8:30 for pick-up between 8:30 and 9:00. We were definitely there with all our luggage. The paperwork says a green SmartBus will pick us up. Every bus that stopped, large or small, or even a van, had either blank sides or a logo for a tour company. Every driver got out and called for people on their list and none were for us. My husband asked every single blank bus if they were an airport transfer, regardless of the green color. Not a single green color bus stopped. Even the orange city busses never stopped. Countless tour buses came and went. 9:00 comes around and we are starting to get worried for our noon flight. At about 9:05 I called the company, which took MANY rings to get through. The man said a bus came at 8:30 and we missed it. This was a LIE. I asked for a refund for this leg of the journey so I could get a taxi. He said, "You can TRY, but you have to email them. Since YOU missed the pick-up, it probably won't work." SO RUDE! We got rescheduled to a 9:30 pick-up. The driver was so rude to people who were asking him where he was headed. The lady at the next bus was the same way. Finally, we arrive with 10 minutes to spare. It's tourist season, this company needs to have hospitality courses for their staff!Written July 23, 2024

They could be a little clearer with instructions, but overall was a good process. Locals take the bus too as a taxi could cost you 200 euro just to get the 45m to the city. Bus is right there when you get out of airport and drops you off at a central station which then you go to the other side of the building for the smaller shuttles to the bus stops around the city- there is no hotel drop off!!! The city does not allow that.

Price was right and took about 45 min as advertised. Only slight thing was our hotel shuttle bus was full with people/luggage but we got off first so we were happy

I purchased an airport transfer and paid more for "hotel drop off"
First, the big bus from airport was nice enough, but it went to an intermediate location to disperse riders to different smaller vans. We had to move all the luggage into the van ourselves, and there was mass confusion as to who was going where in these various vans.
Then the driver dropped us at a bus stop, not our hotel, with verbal instructions to walk to our hotel which was a few blocks away. We had lots of luggage and it was up a fair hill. Not at all what I was expecting. Won't use them again if I ever go back to Reykjavik.

Thank you for taking the time in writing us about your experience with us.
Please note that due to traffic restrictions input by the City of Reykjavik, buses are not allowed to driver on certain streets. Therefore if you hotel is locate on one of these streets your drop off and pick up location will be to and from designated bus stops (see https://busstop.is/).
We recommend for your next transfer to book the Premium service which is door-to-door.

I would avoid this company.
In May, 2023, I booked a “Premium Transfer” for 8 of adults, directly from KEF airport to our hotel in Reykjavik in an 8 person mini-van. No large bus from the airport, and no transferring at their Terminal. After holding my money for months, they sent an email claiming an “operational issue,” downgrading my service with no cost reduction. They were going to keep my money, now calling it “Economy Plus.” It is, in fact, just their “Economy” service which is available on the website for far less money than we had paid.
In fact, on the website, there is no longer “Premium Service”, just “Economy” or “Private Transfer (but at 4 times the price we paid.) They simply changed the name of the service from “Premium” to “Private,” When downgrading my service in the email, they offered no reduction in cost. However, after I emailed them, they claimed "All our customers who were downgraded were provided with a partial refund for price difference between services." I was provided no refund.
In spite of the high ratings on Trip Advisor, I am disappointed that upper management decided not to honor their existing obligations. Calling this an “operational issue” is a catch-all phrase that confirms they think the traveling public is ignorant, and will accept whatever poor treatment they dish out.
They acted in a shameful manner to make a extra buck. I canceled my booking and found a different highly rated provider. One I have used successfully several times in the past for private transportation and guided tours.

Thank you, Allan, for taking the time to write us this review.
We would like to assure that Premium, Economy and Private are 3 different services.
We have been selling all 3 of these service until this summer when we have ceased the operation of Premium. All customers were rescheduled to Economy Plus (with hotel connection) and were refunded the price difference. Since you did not book directly with us but through a booking agent, the partial refund must be provided the by booking agent as they hold your payment information.
It sadden us to see you consider this change was made in a financial manner whilst all our customers were refunded for the service differences.
We hope you enjoyed your time in Iceland!

This is not a direct bus to hotel as advertised. Buses are slow and old, and the Drop-off-bus in Reykjavik is even older and cramped. It takes for ever, is really uncomfortable and costs more than advertised. Do not expect to get any information after you have paid. Thouroughly unprofessional businessm will never use again,

Terrible, terrible! Use the other companies. We were told to wait by the empty bus until 7 am when the driver would arrive, load our luggage and drive to Reykjavík. We and about a dozen other passengers waited in-12 F weather until the driver showed up at 7:30. People were very angry, driver offered no excuses and apology. Not a good way to make a good reputation.

We were picked up from right outside the airport and swiftly transported to Reykjavik.
The driver was friendly and helped everybody board and stow their luggage.
The coach was comfortable quiet and with just enough legroom... I'm 6 foot 2 and it was just about ok for the 45 min journey.
Note that the bus from the airport takes you to the terminal and then you have to swap to a different bus to get to your hotel. This is not well organised or communicated and as a result a large bewildered but polite crowd gathered at the terminal until we figured out the system for ourselves...
I.e. drivers turn up seemingly at random, then randomly pick a bus and route at random. You run after them and jump on their bus.
Good service overall but you have to pay attention!!

Efficient transfer from the airport to our hotel. Booked online before our trip. The instructions made it clear that the main service is to the bus terminal and then you change to another smaller bus to be taken to your hotel so we knew what to expect.
On arriving at the bus terminal, the smaller bus was ready for us, there were no delays and there were clear instructions on which bus to take. Buses were clean.
Used service on way back to airport too and it was just as efficient and we were pleased that the buses were going as there were high winds and the flights were delayed. Drivers all friendly and polite.
Seemed expensive on booking but due to distance, door to door service and general high prices in Iceland, this was ok. Would use again.

I had an excellent experience with this company and have no complaints at all. I used them for airport transfers both to and from Keflavik Airport and found the process seamless and well-organized. Booking online was simple, and the instructions provided were crystal clear.
Here’s what to expect based on my experience:
When I landed, I had to wait about an hour for the next bus (we arrived early), but the wait was manageable. The airport has a small shop where you can grab coffee or breakfast while waiting. The bus departed on time, but I appreciated that they made sure everyone with a booking was on board.
The ride from the airport to the main bus depot took about 45 minutes. At the depot, I switched to a smaller bus that dropped me off at the nearest stop to my hotel, which in my case was Bus Stop 1 - City Hall, just a 4-minute walk away. They also offer a hotel drop-off option for an additional fee if needed.
For me, the bus stop drop-off was ideal because many Reykjavik tours pick up from these stops, making it easier than navigating narrow streets with large buses.
There’s no Uber in Iceland, and taxis are extremely expensive ($140–$160), so this service is a great alternative. Despite the steps involved, it’s a convenient, clean, warm, and comfortable option. I’ll definitely use this service again when I return to Iceland!

The bus company was punctual for pick up at the airport. The drivers were friendly and very helpful. They were not able to deliver us directly to our hotel from the airport. We had to transfer from the large bus to a smaller van at a terminal outside the city. After a short wait at the bus terminal, we were taken into the city and dropped off about a 5 minute walk from our hotel. Getting our luggage from the drop off point to the hotel was a bit of a challenge.
I would say that the transportation was relatively effective, although a bit confusing and slightly less comprehensive than we had anticipated.
Certainly, the lower cost of this transport made up for the minor inconvenience of the experience. I would choose this option again.
