What to expect
This photography workshop focuses on capturing what many argue is Iceland’s most beautiful corner. You will be able to immerse yourself in Vatnajökull National Park, the Skaftafell Nature Reserve, the Diamond Beach and the iconic Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, and shoot their many wonders beneath the light of the midnight sun. You will not only have opportunities to photograph the iconic sites that make this country famous, but also hidden gems that are much lesser known, such as the Fjallsárlón glacier lagoon. Your portfolio, by the end of the tour, will, therefore, be full of unique, diverse images. Your two nights of accommodation will be pre-organised before your arrival, as will all transfer to and from your shooting locations. Your photoguides will be with you throughout, guiding you towards the best vantage points and the most interesting lighting. Do not miss this opportunity to photograph Iceland in summer, with a focus on its most beautiful region. Check availability by choosing a date.

4-day Photo Tour around Vatnajokull National Park
Feb 2020 • Friends
I had the pleasure to join 4 other photographers and our guide Jon for a 4-day photo workshop in the South of Iceland in the second week of February. Despite the rainy and overcast weather which lasted for half of our trip, Jon made sure we always had a backup plan and that we got to visit most of the places on our list. His on-site guidance has also proven very valuable in places where we had to use non-standard photography techniques, like the ice caves, Diamond Beach or the Gljufrabui waterfall. My only disappointment was not being able to see the Northern Lights but thanks to our group I left Iceland with good memories, photos and a desire to return there soon!

Best Photo Tour
Feb 2020 • Solo
My niece and I took a photo tour with Iceland Photo Tours, led by professional photographer Jon Hilmarsson in Feb. 2020. The tour was incredibly well run. I was especially impressed by their communication prior to the trip. Our van was first rate and comfortable. Jon made sure that we were seeing the best spots before other tours arrived. His constant smile and upbeat attitude made the trip! On our tour, we went to Iceland’s south shore, shooting places like Black Sand Beach in Vik, Diamond Beach, multiple glacier lakes, waterfalls, wild horses and reindeer, and we even got to see the Northern Lights. This was a bucket list trip for me at it didn’t disappoint!

4 Day Photography Workshop
Mar 2020 • Solo
An amazing experience! This was my first time travelling solo and my first photography workshop abroad. I would recommend this trip to anyone who is interested in either Iceland or photography... or both! Our guide Jon was very helpful with shooting techniques and guiding us to smaller, hidden, locations for some pictures of Iceland that I haven’t seen anywhere else online. I was in a group with 3 other people, so we got to know each other and Jon well by the end of the trip. The hotels were great too, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m already hoping I can be back again another time soon!

4 day photo tour
Feb 2020 • Solo
The weather was awful! We got snowed in at the Hali glacier hotel and all roads were closed. So we couldn’t make the caves and had limited time at the beach and lagoon. But our photo guide, Brynjar, did an outstanding job of opening our eyes to the hotel areas we did have access to. He taught us to think outside of the box and get awesome pictures of the small things in life. He taught us how to use creativity, simplicity and space. He put our safety as the number one priority and when the roads opened, he got us there for the photos shoot. Due to weather, I may have not shot all the locations I wanted to but I gained a different perspective on how to shoot and edit. This truly changed the way I shoot photos. Many thanks to Brynjar! I plan on returning and I will use this company again.

Awesome Photography Tour of Southern Iceland with outstanding guides and vehicles
Feb 2020
In mid-February, I went on the 5 Day Winter Photo Workshop in Iceland | Aurora and Ice Caves offered by Iceland Photo Tours. You can’t do better than this company for your Iceland photography experience!!! The tour featured access to multiple photo hotspots, with a well known and talented guide, Lurie Belegurschi. As a surprise, we also had a second great photographer aboard as a guide, Daniel Kordan. All participants had easy access and support from both guides. This tour hit the A+, Excellence marks on many counts. Lurie and Daniel were outstanding in knowledge of Iceland, advanced photography techniques, post processing and general savvy about how to shoot different locations for best effect. Our vehicles were incredible – roomy, comfortable and could go anywhere we needed despite rain, snow and icy storms. We got to many spots ahead of the crowds with time to explore and take photos. There were many instructional sessions offered by Daniel when weather was bad or we had free time. Lurie was always keen for our safety and gave much advice on how to manage conditions on the beaches and climbs. Kudos to Lurie Belegurschi for his company that creates excellent experiences for photographers at all levels. Look no further – this is the best Iceland photo tour!

Excellent trip with all four seasons!
Jan 2020
I recently concluded the 5 Day Iceland winter workshop. We were advised a day before that Iurie was ill so no longer leading it which was a shame as he is one of the main reasons I selected this trip. However our 'replacement' guides Jon and Garder were fantastic. They were available for advice when we needed it but as our group was fairly experienced they allowed us time to explore things ourselves too – the perfect balance. They were great company too which made for a very enjoyable time. As is typical with Iceland in the winter, the weather was every changing and they planned the days accordingly. We had a mixture of amazing light and sunsets and rain, snow, sleet etc where we spent some time processing. The accommodation was excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable trip.

Awesome Photo Adventure
Jan 2020
Photographing Iceland in the winter has been on my bucket list for some time. Even though the weather was somewhat challenging we kept to our itinerary. Jon, our guide was beyond helpful and always glad to be of help. I expressed an interest in photographing the Iceland ponies and he willingly stopped and gave us enough time to accomplish what we wanted, even to the extent to put snow on one of the ponies for me! Thank you Jon for an amazing photo tour and an overall great time!

EPIC - The best experience I have ever had!
Jan 2020
Iceland was my one hundredth country. For the past ten years, I have been focused on photographing in war zones and refugees. This course really took me out of my comfort zone and I learnt so much. Siggi was our guide and the breadth of knowledge he had across all makes of cameras and drones was beyond impressive. Iceland is without doubt the most spectacular country I have been to and one of only a handful I would consider returning too. The locations we visited were awe-inspiring. I would definitely do another workshop with Iceland Photo Tour. If you're serious about landscape photography then this is a must.

9 day Autumn Photo Workshop in Iceland
Oct 2019
I just concluded a 9 day autumn photo workshop in Iceland with Iceland Photo Tours. I travelled with a friend and our photo guide was Kaspars Dzenis. It was a well organised tour. We travelled in a comfortable 4 wheel drive and we had plenty of space. We visited all the sites of photographic interest on the way. Kaspars is very knowledgeable about Iceland and photography. He helped us immensely to improve our photo composition and we learn't a lot during the tour. The accommodation was very good and we stopped at good restaurants for our meals. Kaspars paid attention to the weather forecasts and was able to get the best lighting conditions for our photos. I would highly recomment Iceland Photo Tours to anyone planning to visit Iceland.

11 Day Iceland in Autumn Photography Workshop
Oct 2019
I just completed an 11-day Autumn in Iceland workshop with Iceland Photo Tours and highly recommend their tours as a great way to see and photograph Iceland. The tour was very well organised with a flexible itinerary covering fantastic locations. We stayed in good quality accommodation and travelled in comfortable transport with free wifi and more than enough room for us to spread out with our camera gear. Our small group of 7 participants was expertly guided by two talented photographers, Albert Dros and Oli Hauker. It was a pleasure to benefit from their enthusiasm for sharing their knowledge of photography and Iceland. They had no problem catering for a range of photography experience and were always helpful with advice on camera settings and composition ideas at each location. Albert & Oli were always well informed on the current weather conditions and were ready to amend the daily itinerary to get us to the locations at the best times. Daily travelling time was usually short with plenty of comfort stops along the way. They organised reservations for us at fantastic local restaurants, so we never had to wait. I really can’t think of anything negative to say about the tour. Thank you to Iceland Photo Tours, Albert and Oli for a fantastic trip and great memories.
