This was a wonderful tour that covered most of the Ring Road highlights. Lots of beautiful waterfalls a hike on the glacier whale watching and more. Every day was packed full of adventure Our guide Diddi was terrific and provided lots of information about Iceland and it’s history. The hotels were very adequate all with private baths. We were warned in advance of the cost of food and it was by our American standards outrageously expensive. A bowl of soup and bread at lunch was often more than $20 and the dinners were very expensive. So just be prepared. But that cost will be the same with every tour company. Overall this tour was well worth the cost and I highly recommend it. I was also very impressed that when our minibus broke down in miserable weather in the middle of nowhere another guide from a different company came and rescued us and drove us around for the next two days until Arctic Adventures could get a new bus to us. What wonderful cooperation between tour companies. If you are thinking of visiting Iceland don’t hesitate to book with Arctic Adventures

This tour is everything you'd want and more to see the whole country. Now I will say, I think I got a little lucky - the weather ended up being perfect every day and because of the time of year (after the holidays and COVID) we ended up only being a group of 3. This basically made for a private tour around Iceland.
Being a small group allowed our tour guide, Hjalti #666, to kind of cater the group towards what we wanted to do and see. He was able to throw in some extras that weren't part of the normal itinerary including a visit to an amazing farm where he knew the owner. Because of this, it felt very personal and I felt a real part of the country.
I do believe that the way the tour is set up though, this kind of "catering" is available for the larger groups too - it's set up to allow the tour guides to add their own flare to the trip when there is time, and there's always time.
Regardless, the guide and my time in the country was amazing and I actually cried when I had to say goodbye to the little temporary family we created throughout the week.
Highlights:
(1) more personal
(2) you get to see all of Iceland (each day was a different area that presented a completely different picture of Iceland)
(3) definitely active (you're on a bus a good bit, but there are various hikes and activities to keep you active)
(4) the schedule wasn't too set and allowed for a lot of flexibility based on the group
(5) very knowledgeable and down to earth guide
(6) great for solo travelers who don't want to be alone as you eat with the group too
Cons:
(1) It is a bus tour, so you ride a lot, but honestly it allowed for a nice break between the adventures
(2) I think with a full bus it would be a little crowded

This tour has it all, breathtaking waterfalls, many hiking activities, incredible landscapes, beaches, glacier, ice caves, whale watching, delicious food (many of them homemade which I guarantee you’ll love). Specially that fish soup in Dalvik… the best in the world! I traveled with my partner and had an unforgettable trip. Fortunately we got to see the Northern Lights, I believe the company chooses strategic places to stay, which certainly increases your chances of seeing them without having to move far away. And last but not least, we had the best tour guide ever! Ronan was such an enthusiastic guide, always going the extra mile for us, detailed oriented and his love for Iceland is very noticeable. All together this makes your experience more incredible than what you could imagine. Had so much fun with him. Highly recommend!

My wife and myself had booked for the 8 day tour of Iceland, supposed to be from 8th August 2020. We had paid £ 2727.81 for both of us. Due to the Corona virus pandemic, we could not go on the tour and we cancelled the trip 1 month before the scheduled date. We were promised that we would get 90% of the ticket price but later the company went back on its word. They have not paid the refund so far and they are offering us a voucher to go on a future tour. We are shocked that a company can behave like this - not honouring their terms and conditions which state clearly that refund should be paid.

First I want to say is that this tour allows you to see everything you could want to see in Iceland, with that said this will be a honest review. If you have issues hiking, or walking on uneven surfaces, this tour may not be for you; it is an ADVENTURE TOUR. I walk with a cane, and was able to do most, but climbing the glacier, or the volcano challenged me, and I had to know when to stop.
Outside of Reykjavik the town are sparse, and with that, there are limited places to stop for when nature calls, or food & snacks. The “hotel” accommodations are not like North American hotels, they remind me of barracks or dorm rooms.
Due to the 11-12 hours a day sightseeing and driving, when we stopped for the day (around 8-9pm to eat dinner) traps you into where you can eat, and with a limited menu & high price tag ($$$) to go with it. The first two nights we had the same three meal choices (Artic char, lamb shank, or pasta (vegan)). If you have any dietary issues, you will be challenged to find meals to accommodate you.
After the first “Artic Adventures 6 day Ring Road Tour” We ended up back in Reykjavik, and you are worn out from sitting in a tour van for 6 days for up to 11 hour days, we pushed it, and did the 7th day, and skipped the last day to get the COVID test needed to return to the US, and to spend some time shopping in Reykjavik.
In conclusion: Iceland is a beautiful & amazing country, and taking the tour was great to get to see the most of Iceland for the time. Would I do it again, yes, but probably differently. I would have used the whole 8 days to do the Ring Tour that originally scheduled for six days and compacted to 5 days to allow for the volcano hike on the 6th day.

For those who want a more in-depth experience of the natural beauty of Iceland than just the Golden Circle day tour. There are many long driving days which is to be expected when you’re trying to cover so much ground. But it’s worth covering! From other-worldly lunar landscapes, geysers, waterfalls, glaciers, black sand beaches, volcanoes and even some whale watching, Iceland is a completely unique place. Arctic Adventures covers it well with organized and active tours. The hotels are good to great. Be sure to stuff yourself at the included free breakfast buffet at ALL the hotels as food prices in Iceland are astronomical. Our guide Soli was fun and informative and helped get the most out of the tour.

The 6 day Laugavegur trail with our guide Becky Darcy was an incredible experience! and the highlight of the 8-day tour. Each day more amazing than the next. A very special groups of adventurers from around the globe trekking through spectacular landscapes from the Landmannalauger colorful mountains, we crossed glaciers, an obsidian dessert, volcanos, craters, geothermal pools, basalt columns, rivers, waterfalls, canyons, and forest approaching Thorsmork. This trail is a feast to a hiker's eye.
While there were some inconsistency with communication from AA, and last minute changes to the 7th and 8th day tours from Reykjavic, the accommodations made-up for what could've been a disappointing end to the experience. The tour driver to the south coast, the Glacier hiking and ice climbing guides and waterfalls stops on day 8 were excellent. I could've done without the Golden Circle on day 7 although the secret lagoon was enjoyable. Hey, this is Iceland, thermal pools abound.

This was an excellent tour with just a few caveats. The Driver/Tour guide, Carl, was excellent. The seats on the mini bus were a bit cramped. This trip is actually broken down into three sections. The first is the six days around the Island tour. The last two days are individual tours that go in and out of Reykjavik which adds extra travel time to get the locations. The days are jammed packed, which is something that I like. The 6 day tour should really be 7 days to allow for a bit more time at many of the stops. At times it feels a bit like a race around the Island. On my trip I was lucky and had a good group of fellow travelers which added to the enjoyment of the the trip. We all had our evening meals together. The hotels were in general quite nice. The individual tours were very good as well. Unfortunately the weather was pretty bad during most of my stay in Iceland. I was glad that I had waterproof paints and boots. It was part of the experience of being there. There is a lot of walking involved in this trip and some of it is on the strenuous side but doable. I would definitely recommend this trip.

This was an incredible holiday with Thor (our guide) expertly driving us around all the main sites and areas of natural beauty... we even got a fab surprise visit at the end of the tour and plenty of history too. I was in a group of seven, which seemed ideal, especially as our bus could carry 20! All of the hotels were very good to great, and we had plenty of time in each of the locations to see what we needed to see.
The only minor issue I had, and this is only relevant to those travelling in winter/early spring, was that in a handful of locations, we were asked to walk on icy pathways without suitable winter walking equipment. However, everything else about this holiday was as good as it could have been.

Great tour with an excellent guide (Ronan)! Some advertised locations and sights are not part of the tour in winter due to road closures (mostly day 4), but our guide tried to make up for that with some lesser known attractions. Might want to adjust the tour description in winter but would still recommend the trip any time!
