Totally Thor-some Trip!
We took this tour with Thor as our guide, and it was such a lovely day, a beautiful drive, and the whole way he talked about the history of every town we drove through, including Reykjavík and even the much smaller towns, which was super interesting. We were so lucky with the weather, stopping off at Skogafoss was incredible, it’s worth the effort to walk up the steps to the top of the waterfall. But make sure to wear good shoes if it’s snowy underfoot!

Next up we went on the Glacier hike, with Javier as our guide. He was really great and really patient with us as we’re not the most experienced outdoors people. It is a very challenging activity but incredibly rewarding. Some of the scenery is out of this world! But you really do need to be quite fit to enjoy this activity.

The stop off at Seljalandsfoss was beautiful as the snow started to come down then, and each stop off was perfectly timed so as to not be too quick or too long.

There were some people on the tour who asked a lot of Thor, but he was very gracious, patient and accommodating and even took time to give them restaurant recommendations and drop them off wherever they wanted.

I would heartily recommend this if you want to try something different in Iceland!

Must add the Glacier walk
Feb 2018 • Couples
Tour was very well organised, pick up and drop off is at your designated point (hotel, landmark etc). We booked this tour before arriving in Reykjavik as a lot of the tour companies with additional add-ons such as this get booked out.

Iceland's natural landscape are incredible on its own, but having the chance to walk on top of the glacier was magical! You may need some general fitness, as you have to gradually ascend and climb up but it isn't strenuous at all.

The beauty of Iceland
Jul 2018 • Couples
Iceland’s waterfalls are dramatic and we saw three on this tour. Skógafoss is impressive and you can walk up the hill behind it to see another set of falls and the landscape beyond. Give yourself 30 minutes to get up & down. At Seljalandsfoss you can walk behind it but be prepared to get soaked! The path on one side also requires a bit of scrambling so be careful. The third waterfall (can’t remember name but was an ‘extra’ Fanar showed us) will be virtually gone in 2 years due to hydroelectric dam so it felt like a priveledge to see it before that happens.

The highlight of the day for us was climbing the Solheimajokull glacier - unbelievable experience & the guide makes it very safe (including the walking pace) for novices using crampons (like us). You also get a real feel for volcanic activity on Iceland given the ash exposed on the glacier was from an eruption c 100 years ago. Do it before it disappears (and start thinking about your own carbon footprint for future generations). As a tip make sure you buy some lunch at the first stop as there is only tea/coffee at the glacier hut.

GeoIceland were on time for pick up and the bus was comfortable for the tour. Our guide for the day was Fanar - he had brilliant chat and we really liked his sense of humour.

I learned so much!
Simon was an excellent tour guide who made his stories fun and interesting, but also gave us napping breaks throughout the long drive. The small group format was great because we barely had to wait for anyone, and we always departed on time. There was plenty of time at each stop to explore the surroundings and see everything. I probably learned more about Iceland in one day from Simon than I did from an entire travel book!

Hi Amy Thank you for a fantastic review. It means a lot to us and is very much appreciated. I´m sure Simon will be happy to read your review. GeoIceland is so fortunate to have excellent guides. We believe that small group tour offers much more quality versus large group tour. A personal touch and plenty of time to enjoy all the unique stops during the tour. GeoIceland is not in a hurry, we are traveling. All my best regards Óli

Fantastic guide
Feb 2018 • Couples
We went on the South Coast and Glacier Walk with Geoiceland as well as the Golden Circle.

Simon was our guide on the South Coast tour and he really was excellent. Brilliant knowledge of everything Icelandic and the tour itself, kept the whole minibus entertained with his stories.

The minibus was clean, warm and modern. The last being especially good as the weather over the tops was not too friendly!

The times given for each of the stops was sufficient to see everything you wanted

Baldwin was our guide for the Golden Circle tour, his knowledge of the history of Iceland was brilliant. Hats off to him for the driving too, you really want a driver who has encyclopedic knowledge of the roads when the weather is as horrendous as it was.

What's good about Geoiceland is the smaller group numbers and being able to read the crowds. Baldwin flipped the generally stated route of the Geyser and Waterfall locations and it turned out brilliantly as the waterfall was empty when we arrived but as we were leaving it was jam packed!

Great tour!
Jan 2018 • Couples
We only had a few days in Iceland or Reykjavik we wanted to see as much as possible, so we decided to go on a guided tour.
The tour lasts a whole day and you get so much to see!
Our guide could tell us a lot about country, people and history! He also understood it very interesting to tell!
At each of the stops we had enough time to explore the area and take beautiful photos.
A really successful & nice day!

It's also nice to mention that the agency was so nice and even picked us up outside Reykjavik!
What else is not possible.
Thanks for that.
