We were picked up near our hotel (bus stop #9 in Reykjavik), but dropped off at the front door at the end of the tour hours later. Our guide, Einar, was personable, knowledgeable and a good conversationalist and didn't mind us falling asleep multiple times during the long tour (we were out late two nights in a row looking for the Northern Lights). He engaged us in conversation during the times we were awake and provided us with information about the sites we went to. He played excellent music from Icelandic artists (he asked first if we were ok with music). The jeep was comfortable and capable, plus Einar was an excellent driver. It costs more, but was worth not having to deal with a busload of people we don't know. In addition to the usual Golden Circle attractions, we were taken to a glacier (you can pay extra for snowmobiling on the glacier, which we did not do).

Fantastic tour with the aurora borealis as the highlight. When we were driving out, we were able to go up and down hills through rivers and have a fun time going out into the wilderness even if we weren’t going to see the northern lights. The fact that we had beautiful views of the aurora borealis was of course the highlight. The hot chocolate and vodka helped handle the cold.

Superjeep’s service was incredible. We could see very faint lines of thr light when I first went out with them, and they said that didn’t count so I could rebook. Second time Iucky and what a show! Thank you for the persistence and allowed us to stay out for just that extra longer. Photos were also amazing! Highly recommended and would definitely go again when I’m next in town

We had a fantastic trip with Nick on the Golden Citcle and glacier tour. Nick was friendly, knowledgeable and personable and made due the tour was amazing. We drive on a glacier, saw a field of Geysers, and all of the best Falls of the Golden Circle. The history of each site and the background of Iceland was incredibly informative and thoughtful. We were family of 5 -2 adults and 3 teenagers, so the trip cost us over 1,000 euro. The question is -was it worth the extra cost of doing the 'super jeep tour ' versus a normal bus group tour. I would have to say I am not completely convinced after our experience. Firstly the five of us had our own small super jeep. The bigger ones fit 8 people approx. In our convoy there was 2 super jeeps and our smaller version. Our driver Kit was very pleasant but seemed to be a driver and not a guide as such. The guide was in another car, and we had to listen via a radio which was impossible to hear and understand. The guide was good and really worked hard to get us to see the lights and get good photos. I cannot criticise that, but I did ask how the lights formed etc and was told he would explain later, he did over the radio which we could not hear properly. It was nice having our own private jeep in one way, but I think i would prefer better communication with the guide as we did in other (cheaper) tours. I understand that the Northern lights are a natural phenomenon. This tour lets you go 'off ' road to try different spots to see them. I believe in many bus tours you cannot do this. But the spots that we actually got to see them, one was beside a main road and one by a lake with a few houses nearby so not so far away from artificial light as I thought. Note it is very cold, make sure you wrap up well and be prepared to not see the light show that you see in the photos. The company took loads of pictures with a god camera and sent them promptly in a dropbox.

Excellent and knowledgeable tour guide. Very patient and was able to find different locations to get a view of the Northern Lights. Highly recommended!

Great tour, drivers know where to go and very knowledgeable. We saw the lights! Pictures great plus hot choc too. Only point to note is that it’s a big group and not private - ten in our jeep, we misunderstood when booking as assumed a jeep vs mini van was a private option. Wasn’t an issue but this isn’t clear when booking so worth being aware.

Great guide - informative and determined to get us to see the lights - which we did and what an extraordinary experience. A truly great experience and adventure - we loved the super jeep! Great to have a small group as well.

We didn’t love this part of our trip. A few things that aren’t well disclosed. In the Ford vehicle they will pick you up in (it is a big Ford, not a jeep), there will be 8 to 9 passengers. However, this is not a small group excursion. They caravan with 6 of these vehicles so you end up with a large party of about 50; not much different than a much cheaper bus excursion. Two people in the vehicle we were in were sick; coughing and blowing their noses constantly and about three days later my husband had the same which we attribute to the people who came on this tour without concern for other guests. With that many people you constantly have people turning on their phone flashlights causing light pollution. Plan to be frigidly freezing cold. It is not 4 hours of potential driving to see the lights, it is going a few minutes off road and standing in a field for hours waiting for the Northern lights to hopefully brighten up. They serve hot chocolate spiked with vodka, if you are interested, but we don’t drink alcohol so that wasn’t a plus for us. The operators were nice which is why we give this a 3 star instead of 1 but it was not the semi-private off roading experience we thought we were getting. We generally don’t book group excursions and had it to do all over again, I would have just used our rental car to go on our own.

Went snowmobiling on a Glacier. First time.. or should I call it icemobiling?!! What an experience!!! So much fun. Also got to see sites of Iceland with a fantastic knowledgeable guide.

I recommend this tour, if u like a 4x4 experience out of the common roads. The landscape is incredible.

First off, the difference between this the big bus tours is night and day. We were lucky and had an entire jeep to ourselves. Our guide, Etai (sorry on spelling) is from Israel but has been living in Iceland for years and is full of wonderful knowledge. We covered so much in 8 hours from waterfalls to geysers to walking on a glacier (mind blowing!). Etai included extra stops at other interesting points as well. You can tell each guide has the flexibility to customize your tour to your liking. We are so glad we spent the extra money for this compared to the large tour buses. Pickup is easy and was at one of the city bus stops a block from our BNB. You can't miss the jeep pulling up! It was a little rainy and we were offered ponchos if needed, a nice touch. Towards the end on the way back, Etai even offered us tips for our plans for the next day of a self tour of the south coast. Super helpful! One of our friends from home was visiting a few days after us and we recommended this tour and they booked as well.

An excellent tour! This is the second time we have taken this tour. We saw some more and different things than the first time. SuperJeep has some flexibility in each tour; they can alter the times and routes a bit. Our guide was again a very skilled driver and knowledgeable about Iceland and all the places we visited. He offered good advice on what to see and photograph. The ride out onto the glacier is always unique and spectacular. In summary we were well informed, well entertained and safely transported. Would highly recommend this tour.
