Overview
Join this 3 day group tour to the Golden Circle and along Iceland's south coast to discover the stunning unique natural Blue Ice cave, glaciers, lava fields, hot springs, volcanoes, strong rivers and magic waterfalls. After being picked up in Reykjavik in the morning in a Wi-Fi-enabled minibus, your next three days will be spent exploring the many natural wonders of the South Coast of Iceland with your English-speaking guide. Breakfast will be included in the cost on this trip.
Highlights
  • See many of Iceland’s most beautiful sights without feeling rushed
  • Two night’s accommodation and breakfast are included
  • Your guide and driver know the best way to get around a large part of Iceland
  • Mix sightseeing with a glacier hike and ice cave exploration
What to Expect
Your tour begins with pickup from your hotel or a designated bus stop in Reykjavik. From there, set out toward Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Then, see some of the area’s largest geysers: Strokkur and Geysir. Gullfoss—the Golden Waterfall—and the Kerid crater are next. Spend the night in a country guesthouse in Seljaland. The second day is spent visiting the coast, five waterfalls, and a black-sand beach. After breakfast, make the journey to Seljalandsfoss waterfall located beneath the Eyjafjallajokull volcano. Stop at the less-known Gljufrabui waterfall nearby. Visit three more waterfalls: the 200-foot-tall (60 meters) Skogafoss and secret Kvernufoss and Írafoss. The final stop of the day is Reynisfjara beach, with its black-sand and basalt formations. On day three, drive through the village of Vik and stop at Skaftafell National Park on the way to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Hop in a “Super” Jeep with a guide and find a suitable blue ice cave to explore. Then, make the journey back to Reykjavik and get dropped off at your original departure point.

We did book the tour at first basically in order to avoid driving in Iceland during winter time and were ready to compromise on traveling with other people just for that reason. The tour was way beyond our expectations, we really enjoyed the fact that...More

Yes, the local guide takes you with his special truck to the actually accessible cave, this has no extra cost.
