  • What to bring: Warm outdoor clothing, a waterproof jacket and pants, head wear, and gloves. Good hiking shoes are recommended.

  • Minimum age is 8 years old
  • This tour has the flexibility to make the most of the seasonal changes such as changes in weather and conditions. During the summer Iceland is characterized by energizing bright nights and midnight sun. Between August and May, if the forecast is suitable, you might even be able to spot the magical show put on by the Northern Lights. It is important to note that a guided Northern Lights hunt is however not included in the tour. Other wonderful and interesting possibilities can also come up during your south coast tour with us as Iceland is full of surprises.
  • We use a couple of different ice caves for our 3 Day Golden Circle & South Coast tour. Ice caves are ever-changing and unpredictable natural phenomena. We usually visit the Crystal Cave at Breiðmerkurjökull during this tour but when the Crystal Cave is inaccessible we will most likely visit Katla Ice Cave. Which ice cave is chosen will however always depend upon the conditions and safety considerations on the day, sometimes a different ice cave will be visited. If conditions do not allow us to visit an ice cave a glacier hike will be offered as an alternative.

  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund

What we saw was good.
However, I think more could have been fitted in.
Eg on the last day we saw the canyon but other than that just travelled back to Reykavik and were back pretty early. We could have used those two hours to see other points of interest such as the crater. Or we could have had more time at each place.
The glacier hike was something completely new and good to try though the ice cave was underwhelming (appreciate this is variable).

How to do a perfect tour
Oct 2019
It was the definition of magical. Ævar provided the group with a tremendously warm welcome into Iceland's overwhelming and breathtaking beauties. The whole adventure was safe and fairytale-like from start to finish. We got to know about the local way of life, the land's history, the legends and the spooky tales, the unbelievable works of nature, we got to visit places that weren't even in the itinerary, but Ævar just thought we'd like it. I've had my fair share of traveling, but I've gotta say - I've never felt more secure and I've never had more fun on a trip. Our guide at the ice cave, Gilli, made a secure passage for us through this amazing piece of nature's force, and our guide at the glacier, Katja, made time for each and everyone so we can have fun and be as safe as humanly possible on the glacier, even for guys like me who barely put their camera down. This tour had everything I absolutely couldn't miss seeing in Iceland and it made for some amazing photos too. In a few words, this is the tour that I have been and will continue to recommend. Thank you!

Our tour was amazing! Not only did we get to see some epically beautiful scenes, but we were taken around by the best tour guide ever!! He helped make our trip super enjoyable, kept us entertained and gave us lots of information about Iceland and it’s people. We plan on coming back to Iceland and when we do we’ll ask for Hjalti Björnsson to guide us because he is the best ever!!! - the 3 sisters

Amazing Exprience
Aug 2019
We highly recommend this tour. Perfect tour to see the highlights of Iceland which is an amazing country. My husband and I have traveled all over the world but have never seen so much dramatic landscape in one place. This will soon be a very desired place to visit so go as soon as you can. Arctic Adventures did an amazing job throughout the tour with their knowledge and kept everything seamless.

Only suggestion is if you are staying in Reykjavik for any nights of stay, please make your own hotel arrangements. The hotel in Reykjavik that Arctic Adventures arranged for us in the middle of the tour was terrible. The hotels we stayed in on the front end of the tour and the back end which we arranged was the Canopy by Hilton and it was amazing.

Apr 2019 • Family
My 14year old daughter and I had 4 days to explore Iceland therefore 3day trip was ideal for us. All major points were covered with the highlights of the glacier hiking and ice cave exploring. The hotel was at excellent location with great inexpensive food
The only complaint we have - our guide wasn’t talkative and informative, with only concern for us to be punctual We felt like we could be better prepared for the activities(for example, tell us about an opportunity to rent boots and waterproof pants for hiking or warning that we can get wet at the water fall ) and missed a lot of interesting information about the country. Luckily we had an excess to the internet on the bus.

Epic trip
Mar 2019 • Family
Our tour guide, Sindri was great. I especially liked the historical Icelandic myths and facts he regaled us with. The sites are unforgettable. The ice cave was amazing and Glacier Lagoon looked like something out of a SciFi movie(it was used in one). The glacier hike left us speechless and our guide Louis, was outstanding. I definitely recommend this tour. Prior to our trip I emailed Extreme Iceland/Arctic Adventures several times with questions. My questions were answered within 24 hours. The company was very easy to work with.

Really amazing tour
Jan 2019 • Friends
We took the 3-day trip through the Golden Circle, Jokulsarlon lagoon, the ice caves, and the glacier hike. I normally sort of hate tours, so I was reluctant to go on this. (We wanted to drive but were nervous to do so in January.) I'm so glad we did take this tour though. It was genuinely amazing. It was a nice, small group. The coach was lovely and modern (with WIFI even!). Our guide, Kata, was fantastic. Her humour and stories really made the trip wonderful. Really wonderful!
