  • This tour has the flexibility to make the most of the seasonal changes such as changes in weather and conditions. During the summer Iceland is characterized by energizing bright nights and midnight sun. Between August and May, if the forecast is suitable, you might even be able to spot the magical show put on by the Northern Lights. It is important to note that a guided Northern Lights hunt is however not included in the tour. Other wonderful and interesting possibilities can also come up during your south coast tour with us as Iceland is full of surprises.
  • We use a couple of different ice caves for our 3 Day Golden Circle & South Coast tour. Ice caves are ever-changing and unpredictable natural phenomena. We usually visit the Crystal Cave at Breiðmerkurjökull during this tour but when the Crystal Cave is inaccessible we will most likely visit Katla Ice Cave. Which ice cave is chosen will however always depend upon the conditions and safety considerations on the day, sometimes a different ice cave will be visited. If conditions do not allow us to visit an ice cave a glacier hike will be offered as an alternative.

We had a great adventure with Nick as our guide. He has a wonderful sense of humor and deep knowledge of Iceland history and culture. Due to strong winds and inclement weather the week of Oct 14th, Nick adjusted the order of our trip itinerary and we managed to fit the spots in with plenty of time for exploring and pictures. I appreciated how Nick always gave us a preview of the day’s itinerary (food stops, grocery and restaurant options, where to get reasonably priced souvenirs, bathroom breaks). His lunch and dinner recommendations were delightful. I never felt overwhelmed with information! He is also a talented photographer and helped us think of cool photo ideas. My group also enjoyed the glacier walk with Max as our guide. He made sure everyone in the group had their equipment secured properly. I will recommend this tour to friends and family looking to visit Iceland!

My wife and I took this tour as part of a 6 day trip to Iceland to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The south coast of Iceland is beautiful with many breathtaking waterfalls, views of mountains and of the ocean. We debated whether to go on our own, but arctic adventures, and in particular our tour guide Almar, made the best use of our time by keeping us on track and knowing the area extensively as well as highlighting many points of interest along the way. we learned a lot from him and he was always helpful with suggestions about activities or food. The hotel for the tour is somewhat bare bones (similar to what I would expect in a rather remote area of the states) but clean and comfortable with tasty and reasonably priced meals and a friendly staff. Despite being in the middle of nowhere, we appreciated having Internet access even in the van. it was our first time taking a group tour and Almar made sure everyone felt included as much as they wanted to be. we are not “group tour” people, but it was a great group and we made some new friends. Going out on the glacier and into an ice cave and seeing the icebergs in the lagoon were particular highlights. We had some rainy weather, but I had waterproof ski jacket and ski pants as well as hiking boots and my wife had a waterproof ski jacket and waterproof insulated pants and we managed to stay warm and mostly dry. We would definitely recommend Arctic Adventures and Almar to friends or anyone planning on visiting Iceland.

We completed the 3 day Golden Circle/South Coast tour (November 24-26) that was guided by Biggi and it was absolutely wonderful! Biggi was an excellent guide/driver who truly cared for our group of 12, kept us safe, and went above and beyond to make sure we saw all of the best spots at each site. The entire itinerary was well-paced and never felt rushed, even with the limited amount of daylight and the uncertain weather conditions. This is definitely a credit to Biggi's hard work and dedication, for he always seemed to know exactly how long it would take to arrive at our destinations and how long we would want to spend at each location. We saw everything we had hoped to see and even managed to catch a bit of the Northern Lights on the second night. It was really interesting to learn about Iceland's history and culture throughout the tour. And Biggi's Icelandic music playlist is pretty awesome!

If you are a traveler limited on time while in Iceland and want to explore as much as possible, I really recommend this tour. You will have a chance to learn, see, and do so much in 3 days.

This was me and my husband's first time visiting Iceland but we definitely plan to return to explore more of the beautiful country. Arctic Adventures will be our first stop the next time we want to join another tour! We had zero troubles booking online with them and pick up/drop off was seamless.

By far one of the best tours I have ever done. We are a group of four friends from NZ and chose to do the three day south coast and golden circle trip. Our guide Hjalti was fantastic and gave us the best experience possible - including driving us out to see the most incredible northern lights. He was very knowledgeable, had a great sense of humour, and took a lot of interest in all of us - I would 100% recommend him as a guide.

The itinerary was well organised and we managed to visit a lot of sights without it ever feeling rushed. The glacier hike was one of the highlights of the trip for me but everything was generally breathtaking (the sights just get better and better).

The accommodation we stayed at was clean and comfortable. The food at the restaurant (there’s only one) was incredible and I would happily go back there again.

We booked with arctic adventures for a 3 day tour of Golden Circle and South Coast based on our friend’s recommendation. We were not disappointed! From the first pick up till the last drop off, the service of this company was impeccable. They were always easy to reach on phone and answered all our questions and issues

As for the tour, it was the highlight of our Iceland Trip. Our guide, Vyrunn, was great. His English was very good and so was his attitude. He was fun loving and very friendly. He loved to tell stories about Iceland and kept us entertained during long drives.

At each site, he took care to see that everyone was comfortable and took great photos of everyone. He was always ready to answer any questions and was patient with people who were not fast walkers.

The tour covered all the great sites on Golden circle and south shore. Our guide even includes some places not on the itinerary.

The hotel where we stayed for 2 nights was very nice, cozy and clean. The restaurant there had good breakfast and great dinners

I will highly recommend this company and this tour to anyone visiting Iceland

An exciting, varied and spectacular three days with Didi. Despite the initial ‘Icelandic’ weather we saw and did everything on the tour. Views of epic scale to match the weather. A quick stay at Gierland Hotel each night and off again. Good food and great company with a small group. Didi kept us informed, educated and entertained and dealt with the challenges of true local weather to keep the whole tour working, changing the itinerary to suit… even with experience of driving in snow and ice I was relieved we had a driver and guide..! Thanks Didi

This was a fantastic 3-day trip from start to finish. Bad weather was expected on day 2 and 3 so our guide Aron tried to stop at as many places as possible on day 1. We got lucky though and the weather was not too bad. The scenery was spectacular. Aron's unsurpassed knowledge and wit kept us all engrossed/entertained for the 3 days. His focus on safety and what not to do, kept us reassured and better stewards of the land. He played great Icelandic music and other perfectly timed tunes for the terrain - which helped the group bond and laughter flowing.

The accommodation was good, meals limited in choice but very tasty. I would highly recommend this trip. We just loved Aron as our tour guide.

Completely perfect experience. Our guide Siggy was a delight. He was knowledgeable, witty, and kept the group moving while adjusting around things people wanted to spend more time at. Accommodations at the Adventure Hotel were great. The 18 person "small group" is great, we weren't a big tour bus overwhelming a restaurant or site when we pulled up, but large enough to have a variety of conversation partners and not be "private guide" expensive. Will absolutely use them again next year.

Well organised 3day tour of the Golden Circle and South coast. Lot of places are covered and it is a good taster trip for future more in depth adventures.

Our guide Sindri was very knowledgeable and passionate and he went out of his way to deliver. The trip involved lots of driving so we really appreciated Sindri’ endurance and good spirit throughout the whole tour. We definitely thought that the trip was worth the money paid.

The only negative point on our particular tour was the minibus - every single seat was sold out and the seat size/ leg room/ storage space is so super limited. If you are not a child or short and slim everyone on the bus can forget any comfort. The space on the minibus definitely DOESN’T fit all shapes and sizes. For 3+day tours, a bigger bus should be used. On a positive note, after a short glitch WIFI on the minibus was working a treat, in fact better connection than in the hotel we were staying in.

Arctic Adventures has operated a wonderful 3-day winter tour to some of Iceland's most iconic sites. Organization was perfect, despite of snowy roads and sometimes stormy wether conditions. The company has their own hotel and glacier guides along the route so they can flexibly adjust and rearrange the itinerary when required. Group size was rather small (11) with a mix of couples and solo travelers from all over the world. Our tour guide Hjalti has been a very save driver in adverse weather conditions but most of all a highly knowledgeable and accommodating tour guide and a true ambassador of Icelandic culture.
A lasting experience!
