Traditional Icelandic Cuisine

Bardi was a wonderful tour guide, perhaps the best guide I ever had in Iceland, because he could really summarize and explain things in simply short easy to understand explanations.
We visited 4 eateries some of which are on the main drag and then others you'd never known existed.
The food was very good, tasty and not at all gross nor unappealing. Loved the fish and seafood dishes. Iceland is an island so the food mainly consist of fish, shellfish and lamb which is to be expected.
You can take your time eating, but the tour is short and doesn't drag on and. on like so many others.
I recommended this tour

Make sure you come to this tour with an empty stomach!! The food was incredible and there was a LOT of it!! Our guide, Bardi, was such a wonderful guide!! He was kind, funny, and knowledgeable, and gave great tips about places to go, eat, check out, and buy some good souvenirs. This was such an excellent tour! I will be recommending this tour to all my friends and family that want to come to Iceland after hearing about my amazing experiences. Our guide was knowledgeable, kind and just overall excellent. We got to try several traditional meals and they were all delicious. Our guide not only provided great food but also had a lot of interesting facts and advice on good places to check out. Definitely a not miss experience!

This was a fantastic tour. Bardi was a wonderful guide - learned a lot, ate good food, and enjoyed great conversation. There were only 3 of us too and so it was almost like having our own private tour. Even if there were more people I couldn’t imagine a better way to learn about the food and life here!

Fantastic Experience!
Aug 2021
This was a great food tour; there were only 3 of us which allowed more time with our guide. We wanted to experience Icelandic food, and this was accomplished. The walk was easy, and we were provided lots of background of both the area and food by our guide Bardi. We were able to enjoy generous samples of all the foods on the tour. Langoustine soup, whale steak, lamb hot dogs with all the Icelandic fixin's, smoked lamb and lamb soup, arctic char, Hakari with Brennivin followed by rye ice cream.

Highly Reccomended at the Start of your Trip
Aug 2021
This tour is a must if you want to sample the variety of foods Iceland has to offer in one quick trip.
If you read all the reviews, yeah, they're small appetizer sized...but you're going to multiple destinations. If you had 4 or 5 full course meals, you wouldn't even be able to walk afterwards. The pacing of the tour is fine as you're not rushed through any destination, and our guide Bardi was very personable and at no time did he seem disinterested in any of our questions.
Also, one plus about this tour company, they sent a nice e-mail with various suggestions, which turns out we wound up going to a couple. So, their engagement with the customer after the end of the tour makes them a company you'd want to look at.

Bardi was a very personable and fun tour guide. We would highly recommend this tour as well as others from this company. We are going on another one tonight :) Fun little spots that are family run, and the soups were excellent, especially the lobster. And some surprises too—
