About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Annemarie C0 contributionsNo Northern Lights sighting but it was still funFinding the Northern Lights is a hunt. This was my third time. I was successful on my second hunt which is why I want to see them again. A natural phenomenon, it all comes down to luck. And the more than 4 busloads of hunters on this night weren't lucky. We waited patiently for a couple of hours. It was chilly--actually it was cold but we were all so hyped we didn't seem to care. Even when the guide urged us all to get off the bus once more for a faint sighting, we did. It was so faint, you really couldn't see them unless you viewed them through your cellphone camera. But that's how badly we all wanted to see them. I'll continue the hunt.Written September 25, 2024
- Annemarie C0 contributionsWonderful way to experience IcelandThis was my third trip to Iceland. On this trip, I was with first-time visitors since I was doing my second Golden Circle tour. It was as enjoyable as before since my prior trip had been during the winter which is a totally different experience. There was ample time along the way at each stop on the Golden Circle. We had enough time at the geyser to enjoy lunch in the restaurant. The guide was informative. I highly recommend Reykjavik Sightseeing.Written September 21, 2024
- Jennifer D0 contributionsExploration of the Golden Circle with Thrilling Snowmobile RideThis was one of our favorite excursions in Iceland. We viewed several beautiful locations over the Golden Circle to the comical storytelling of our tour guide. We appreciated her specific guidance about the development of her country in context of the government changes in the country. The highlight of the day was snowmobiling on the glacier!! This was a once in lifetime experience and an exciting way to view the beautiful of the terrain.Written September 21, 2024
- lgayhart0 contributionsWere not Picked Up for our Original TourWe booked the Golden Circle & Secret Lagoon tour beginning at 10am. Despite standing at our pick location, stop 12, for 45 minutes (supposed to be there 30 minutes early but we got there at 915am) us and 4 other people were never picked up. When I called I was told the bus already came and we must have missed it, which was not true. On a good note, they promptly offered to reschedule us for their 12pm Golden Circle tour but we ended up missing out on the Secret Lagoon which was very disappointing. Still waiting on a refund for the Secret Lagoon portion…Written September 13, 2024
- AllyLambie750 contributionsSouth coast - Long but enjoyable day!Our final day trip in Iceland was the South Coast, Diamond Beach & Jökulsárlón tour booked with Reykjavík Sightseeing. I’ll admit to being nervous about pick up after reading some other reviews however we were picked up promptly by smart bus before transferring to our main bus. Both buses checked names and also waited and made sure everyone was picked up before departure. Our driver was Andreas with our guide Louvisa. Both were very friendly with Louvisa in particular providing us with great knowledge and facts as we progressed down to the south coast. The waterfalls were very pretty and the glacier lagoon/diamond beach were stunning. We paid for the optional boat trip at jokulsarlon which was a nice way to get a bit closer to the icebergs. This is a long day however with the majority of time spent on the bus so this should be considered if you have any issues with sitting for a long time. The reason I have marked this as 4/5 rather than 5/5 is due to the time in Vik for dinner. We were really wanting to try the black crust pizzas however were only allocated half an hour so just didn’t have enough time. I know this was due to unforeseen circumstances however even the normal 45 minutes break doesn’t feel long enough to me to be able to do this. At least an hour for dinner would work better in my opinion. Other than the time for dinner I had absolutely no other issues with Reykjavik sightseeing and would recommend this company. A number of solutions were found after our tyre blow out to ensure we all got safely back to Reykjavik. I hope Andreas didn’t have to wait too long to be rescued!Written September 7, 2024
- Tamimyf0 contributionsSnow mobile - a mustWe did the golden circle with snow mobiling. It was very safe and very well conducted. Once in Iceland, snow mobiling is worth it. It was fun and once in a life experience. Highly recommend.Written September 4, 2024
- jogom230 contributionsGreat Golden Circle TourI did the Golden Circle Tour today with departure at 12 and it was so much fun! The sights are truly impressive and we were even given time for some quick lunch at the geysir. It's also nice that they offer tablets and audioguides with info about the tour in different languages making sure that everyone gets to know something about Iceland during the tour! :D The bus was comfortable and we had a great guide who gave us an awesome insight into Icelandic history and the different nature sites.Written August 6, 2024
- Gaby D0 contributionsGorgeous!Beautiful day and trip with driver Johannes and guide Stefan. I've been on this tour twice and consider it breathtaking and so thorough. Great value spent with the lovely Icelanders in their beautiful home.Written July 6, 2024
- GrandTour293760348080 contributionsGreat experience!Darren and driver Paulo made an awesome trip even better. Darren as a tour guide was extreemly knowlegable and entertaining - he probably talked for 4-5 hours and it was never boring. Paulo was one of the best bus drivers I have seen. He threaded that bus though narrow bridges and busy parking lots like a pro!Written June 27, 2024
- Faithfultravelerrev0 contributionsReykjavík on footReykjavík is the capital and largest city of Iceland. It is located in southwestern Iceland, on the southern shore of Faxaflói bay. With a latitude of 64°08′ N, the city is the world's northernmost capital of a sovereign state. Reykjavík has a population of about 140,000. See pics from our walks in the city.Written June 23, 2024
- YHall320 contributionsPlease avoid Reykjavik Sightseeing!!!They didn't pick us up and refused to give us a refund. We're not the first customers this has happened to. Our pickup time on the ticket was 10am but they apparently start picking people up at 9:30. We arrived at our pickup point around 9:35 - my daughters glasses broke as we were leaving our apartment and she ran back for her spare pair. They don't come back after picking up other guests or call to see where you are. They just left us at the bus stop til I called them at 10:20 to see where they were. Dealing with them this week has not been pleasant so I'd avoid at all costs, we found other tour operators so much better and they do pop back if people aren't there.Written June 2, 2024
- Glen E0 contributionsTak Arthnaud for a great intro to your cityWasn’t sure what to expect until Arthnaud aka Nori gave us a fun and informative two hour tour of his town. He is an underemployed actor who deserves good roles as he was charming, witty and patient. His personal recommendations have proven to be spot on. It seemed he knew and often was related to everyone we saw. Great shtick in any case. Yes, we saw lots of midtown and even the shiny new parts were made interesting by him.Written May 30, 2024
- R9876540 contributionsSouth CoastAmazing tour - a lot of sightseeing in one day and worth every moment! Well organised by the guide and a lot of information provided during the day.Written May 29, 2024
- 465haileeh0 contributionsAbsolutely Worth It!Kristina did an amazing job guiding us on this tour!! We saw the most beautiful waterfalls and incredible black sand beach!! Much more to see as the adventure goes on but those were my main highlights! Just like every other tour pick up and drop off were smooth and easy! Loved every second of it!!Written May 3, 2024
- Nathan0520150 contributionsUncomfortable and disappointing coach.Great trip, great guide BUT spoiled. My wife and I did two tours. The tour guides were both friendly and informative. However the buses were not up to the standard that you advertise! Neither bus could be described as luxury. Both had the same problems. The legroom was not adequate. I’m only 5’10” nut there was not enough room. I spent hours on both trips with my knees jammed into the back of the seat in front, or had to sit sideways. which is painful and uncomfortable. The other problem was that only half the seats had USBs, and most of them didn’t work, so our phones ran out of battery charge with the result that on the Golden Circle tour we missed some photo opportunities.Written April 29, 2024

This tour was part of a package we booked through Secret Escapes and it did not disappoint! The bus always departed on time and our guide named Cola was very helpful and informative. The tour duration is about 8 hours and we visited the main sights in the Golden Circle. In December there is only about 5 hours of day light but the way the tour is timed meant that we would be able to see all the sights in day light. We had fantastic weather which made all the difference. We really enjoyed this tour and we recommend it to most age groups. The only downside was that everyone was promised a Touch-Screen Multi-Language Audio Guide but there weren't enough tablets for everyone. It also stated online that there are USB ports on board so you can charge your devices, however, none of them worked. So if you're relying on that it is best to bring an extra battery pack just in case. Other than that we had a great time and would use this company again in the future.

This was a great tour with really useful information. The guide - Emilia was really funny and she gave us planty of info about Rekjavik and the places that we hve visited.
They also give you a tablet that is gps based and as the bus follows its way, you receive extra info. They mention when you book the tour to bring your own headphones but they don’t mention that Iphone headphones are not supported. You cand buy headphones on board with 1000 isk.
All in all, don’t miss this tour if you want to see the best nature wonders in Iceland.

We had a limited amount of time, so we chose the afternoon trip to the Golden Circle. It was supposed to include tablets for the audio guide, but it was a busy day (meaning all the tablets were in use) so our driver took charge as a live guide. Personally, we always prefer a live guide, but it wasn't an option for the afternoon tour. Thor was great and knew so many details about the local area and the sightseeing spots. He answered all questions with ease and was very organized about gathering everyone up again at the stops. The stops themselves were gorgeous, especially as we were in Iceland just after a snow storm. It was a winter wonderland of landscapes and waterfalls!

Did the Golden Circle tour and it was great, despite being rainy and foggy. The sights are spectacular, the tour well organised and our guide (Ziggy Olafson) was superb. We weren't provided with audio headsets due to a technical error but Ziggy did the job perfectly. Learned so much interesting information in a very comfortable environment. We departed at 10am (in late Dec) and it was good timing for the light (we drove back into the sunset). More info on how the bus pickup system works would have been good, but we had no problems. Definitely recommend 👍

I wanted to find an afternoon tour that packed a lot since I was arriving in Reykjavik at 6am. This tour was perfect. The pick was at 11:30 and we didn't get back to the city until after 6pm. The guide and driver were wonderful, funny and engaging. The bus was large and very comfortable with wide windows which allowed for great viewing. I loved the touch screen audio as it allowed you to start, pause and go back at your convenience. You can't miss with this tour and I highly recommend it.

So we had a tour from another company booked days in advance but they cancelled the tour. So we grabbed a book and started looking for a tour that was similar to the one we booked. Found it and it was wonderful! I believe our guides name was Hilda. I apologize if I got it wrong, but she was very sweet and tried to keep people together and on time! Bus arrived on time, and comfortable coach, the audio guides were fine, we did bring our own headphones. I know there was an option to buy them, but the brochure is clear in bring or buy. I also greatly appreciate that it was blistering cold and at every asked chance she took off her gloves to take pictures. Which was very NICE. As few people would..haha
Our Northern lights tour portion was cancelled for the evening due to the weather and poor visibility, but I am told we can reschedule for other nights. Which is very accommodating. I highly recommend this tour! It fit in perfectly with what we needed and our guides sense of humor and adventure made it that more memorable! Thanks for being there when other companies weren't! It saved our day!!
