        Just Another Tourist Bus
It waa a typical tourist bus tour. I only went on this to get to places & I couldn't find a small group option. Our guide Swinn was knowledgeable & tried so hard to entertain us.

        Great day tour option
Our tour guide, Emilia, was friendly, knowledgeable, and fun! We had ample time to check out each location and saw even more along the ride. Hearing about how each destination received its name and other bits of Icelandic Folklore truly added to the experience. Would definitely recommend booking through this company!

        Short changed!!!!!
We did not get to take this tour as our ship arrived in port too late for us to catch the tour. And there is no refund when you can't make the tour. According to the email I received when I requested a refund, the tour bus was there so that is the only requirement that they have. The ship was our reason for not being there and that wasn't a reason for getting a refund. And I might point out I really have no way to verify if the bus was actually there! So be aware of this if you are booking from a cruise ship.

Darren was amazing. Very friendly, funny, and didn’t talk too much. Highly recommend this tour. We got lucky and the weather was clear as a bell. The southern coast is beautiful. Thanks

A grandiose feast for your eyes!
We were two aging couples [(80 & 72, 71 &69] cruising and we booked this tour through Viator. We had a delightful guide/driver and ended up being only 6 people in the van. We covered 4 'prime' tourist spots: The park with the two tectonic plates, Gullfoss falls, an extinct volcano and a geyser field. We got sufficient time at each stop. We were lucky with the weather, we got sunny breaks at every stop and a few showers while in transit between them. The temperature was as expected 13°-17°C so a light jacket/windbreaker was needed, even though it was not zipped up. All of the spots were very tourist friendly with walking paths and washrooms not too far. We put 17,000 steps on my wife's Fitbit on that day. The park with the tectonic plates was a downhill wooden path with interesting plaques and views all around, we walked essentially between the plates to a meeting point at the bottom. The slope is gentle and easy to walk and enjoy! A great first stop! Then we went to Gullfoss falls, a beautiful falls! We took lots of pictures of the falls and river. There were more people here, but still not what we would consider crowded. We did not walk to the closets points as there was a lot of mist in the air and we got our fill of great views from the elevated portions of the paved path. The we went to the extinct volcano and 2 of us walked all around the caldera. From the top we had fantastic landscapes to admire. The walk up and around the caldera is not paved and you have a few climbs and a lot of uneven surfaces to walk, but we have done far worse many times. Then we went to geyser field, which is quite tourist friendly with paths to walk on around and in between the geysers which some erupt every 6-10 minutes. We also had a lite lunch here fish & chips Icelandic style where the breading is a light charcoal colour! Easily one of my top 5 fish and chips. With 2 baby beers + 2 f&c = 92$ CAD, not cheap, but we would order again! At the beginning of the tour we also visited a spot where they bake bread in the ground (thermally heated) and we saw spots of boiling mud adjacent to a small lake. Our guided advised us NOT to test the water temperature as it could be scalding hot... 50 feet away a couple were canoeing in the lake. We were away for a month through Amsterdam, a British Isles cruise, and an Iceland/Scotland cruise and this tour is easily top two experience of the trip [3 tours were outstanding so picking just one is too hard] We have no hesitation in recommending this tour.

A fantastic day trip from Reykjavik
I didn’t want to rent a car (as would have been the only driver) but didn’t want to miss these sights so bus tour it was- and really pleased we did this - it was well worth it. Personally I d have liked about 15 more minutes in each location, just to take it all in (and also allow for the teen to inspect *every* gift shop 😂) . But understand that you have to keep to schedule- it s a long drive. The scenery while driving is spectacular. Thingvellar, Geysir and Gullfoss are all overwhelmingly beautiful. And the lamb soup at the restaurant in the visitor centre in geysir was delicious!!

        Geysirs, waterfalls, and beautiful scenery.
Beautiful scenery, geysirs, and a breath taking waterfall is what we experienced on the golden tour. Bring your jackets, gloves, camera. We sat back and just enjoyed the tour. Our only hiccup was finding our way from the ship to the pick up place. It’s a little walk from the ship but was well marked once we found it.

        Gray Line golden circle tour
Darren and Hans were the most delightful Host & Bus driver. It’s a 7 hour tour with Gray Line and there was never a dull moment. Darren was amazing, he shared facts about a variety of topics including history, culture and food just to name a few. Hans drove us through so many beautiful roads smoothly and safely. They were so approachable we chatted with them at all the stops and the answered questions and offered recommendations. This tour was so amazing Iceland is so beautiful!

Due to a last minute cancellation for part of a tour we had booked with a large tour company, we had to redo our flight in and out of Iceland. We also had to book through our travel agent, back in the States, transportation from Keflavik Airport to our hotel in Reykjavik and back again…this was booked with Gray Line. Having had issues with Gray Line cancelling our prepaid Waterfalls and Black Sand Beach Tour the day after we arrived in Iceland PLUS 2 issues we had with our prepaid Northern Lights Mystery tour, we decided to change our pickup time for transportation to Keflavik. We did this in person at the Gray Line Tour office. They did not give us a printout or voucher for the new pickup time, but I wrote the “be at bus stop #1 for pickup 30 minutes later” time on our old voucher. My traveling companion wrote the exact same info on a separate piece of paper. We were at the bus stop at the given time (which was 30 minutes BEFORE the actual pickup time). We waited, and waited, and waited, but no bus came to pick us up. In fact inquired on 2 buses if they were there for us., but was told no….just wait. Finally almost an hour AFTER we were told to be at the bus stop, I had to turn on my phone and called Gray Line Tours. I was told the bus had already left for the airport and there was no other bus of theirs making that trip. We were there on time and there was no bus that came by. The person I talked to expressed no interest or concern over the matter …I finally hung up not wanting to waste more time on the phone since we had to get to the airport to catch our international flight home. We had to walk back to the hotel with our suitcases and $136 later we arrived at the airport by taxi.
Talk about added stress AND out of pocket expenses while on vacation, our experienceS with Gray Line were anything but pleasant or enjoyable. Their phone and in-person attitudes were anything but professional. I will never have anything booked with Gray Line again and will NOT recommend their tours/services to anyone.

Thank you lorened981 for your review. It is truly regrettable that you found our service lacking and inconvenient. We have needed to make a lot of adjustments to our schedule during the last months due to the pandemic and tried our very best to make the communication easy on our customers and as quick as possible. As I cannot tell which is your booking and for what service your expectations were not met it is very difficult for us to try see what went wrong on the day of your departure and if this was compensated to you at the time. There is still time to write to us and let us know what happened, I hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience.

Totally shambolic! I’m not the best flyer so on airport day I’m always a little on edge and nervous and really like things to run as smoothly as possible. We were told we were booked on a direct bus to take us back to the airport. Bus turns up we all get on, then it takes us to a bus depot and says it’s actually a bus to that Golden Circle tour instead. So we get off and put on another bus which is full. There isn’t enough room for everyone so they start dictating who gets on what bus and splitting families and people travelling together up. I voiced my opinion on this and said no as a family we will travel on the same bus.. they seemed a bit baffled as to why we wanted to do this? They seemed even more baffled as to why we then wanted our luggage taken off the full up bus and put on the one we were travelling on. Because of this bizarre senario we are running late to the airport and I’m feeling more stressed and on edge than ever. In future get the hop on buses that take you there.

Booked a 5am pick up from our hotel & promptly sat in the lobby to await the driver’s arrival. Driver arrived, jumped off the bus straight away, came over to the hotel & started banging aggressively with his fist on the window as we were approaching the door to rush out to meet him. He then began yelling at us that “We should have been waiting for him”. Trying to avoid too much confrontation, we tried to explain we were waiting for him in the warmth but he just continued to yell. He then floored it for a few miles until he had calmed down!! We then reached another hotel, where we witnessed the frustrated fist reach the window again - these passengers were not visible & so he jumped straight back on the bus & drove off… didn’t try to call these poor people or give them a chance to get out… just left, meaning that they may have missed their flight. Was not a nice start to the day or end to a lovely break away!!!

Thank you LauraHl20 for writing your review. Very sorry about the negative impression of our service and the driver´s agitation. We ask all passengers holding prepaid bookings to wait at the hotel exit in order to speed up pickup as other passengers will get impatient if driver needs to enter hotel to look for customers. A more gentler approach would have been more appropriate and we apologize for this unusual behavior. I do hope that your visit to Iceland was otherwise pleasant

One of the worst experiences I’ve had. This is based on my personal experience and not sure if representative of their usual service but I certainly feel scammed. I’ve booked a pick up from the cruise terminal for a transfer to the Keflavik airport and whilst I waited and looked for the bus for quite sometime I did not see anyone. The company is saying that there was a bus that apparently arrived late but not my experience. I was forced to get a taxi from the cruise terminal to the airport so that I do not miss my flight. I requested a refund, initially they completely disregarded my emails, than they responded saying that the refund will take 3-5days to process and then followed up saying that they would not be able to offer refund.

We arrived at Keflavik Airport past midnight on 16th Feb after over 20 hours flying and layovers.
As I had made a booking with Grayline for their 0115 departure from the airport I went to the counter and was informed 0115 bus was not available due to a breakdown and we will have to wait for 0230 bus. Obviously, we were not going to wait for over 1 hour and made use of another service provider having to pay again.
I have informed this to Grayline customer service, and they promised to refund me the fare, which I am still awaiting.
Yes, I accept the fact that a breakdown of the bus is acceptable, but I feel they should have worked out an alternate arrangement if they knew they were unable to provide the service for which we have already paid for...especially for a Company like Grayline which has a huge reputation to maintain.

My husband and I booked this company for an airport transfer and we were appalled with the service or lack of it. We were sent a confirmation to say pick up would be 7am, however to be outside from 6.30am. We were stood outside our hotel at 6.30am and still at 7.15am there was no bus transfer to be seen. Our flight was due to leave at 9.30am so by this point we were really worried we would be late or even miss the flight. We asked our hotel to call the office to which they said the bus arrived at 6.38am. It simply did not as we were stood outside and our hotel receptionist also confirmed that no bus had arrived at that time. The only bus that arrived from this company was a small shuttle bus with a luggage trailer attached and we even asked if this was for us and the guy said no but a bus would be arriving soon (I'm guessing this was actually for us and he just messed up). Consequently, we had to spend over £100 getting a last minute taxi to the airport. We have contacted the company and are still yet to receive a refund for the journey which we did not take, as we were not picked up.

So I rang Gray Line 24 hours before pick up to confirm names, location and pick up time of 15:30.

Today our hotel receptionist called me over to say he had just received an email from Gray Line at 14:00 saying they had names for the pick up but no location! Our receptionist rang them and confirmed all the details for me again.

We were outside at the pick up point at 15:20, along with 10 other people, freezing cold until the shuttle eventually turned up at 15:50.

This took us to another terminal where we had to change to another coach to actually get to the airport.

If you can use a different company - please do!

Really well organised Bus waiting just outside the airport taken to a Central Terminal approx 45 mins journey then literally walk to the building straight through to the other side with your colour coded ticket then mini buses waiting to take you on to your destination door to door. The same in reverse just ring in your pick up time the day before and they are there - prompt. Very satisfied!

Got us from and to the airport ok . They could cut out a lot of confusion if they could explain that it’s bus to bus terminal then mini bus to hotels . There was a lot of confused people on our trip who didn’t understand what was going on . We waited 15 mins for our connection without one person explaining the situation . All ok in the end tho .

We used it twice 11 PM-ish on March 2nd and March 9th 3:30 AM . On time, one transfer to a smaller shuttle. Too excited to sleep & driver announced Northern lights first night on the way from Keflavik airport to Reykjavík from the left-hand side… nice surprise! Ride back to Keflavik was comfy & slept like a baby
