Our guide, Adam from Try Iceland Tours was amazing. Right away we noticed we forgot our water, he made a quick stop for us for snacks and water. Our first stop was the national park. It has gorgeous vistas, history, waterfalls, light hiking and a little climbing (take the crampons if winter). He drove us to multiple sites and would meet us at the next spot on the trail. After the National park, we travelled to see the Geysers. They went off approximately every 3 minutes. He would let us have some time at each stop and let us know where to meet and where to go to the facilities. We saw the gorgeous Gullfoss waterfall and then continued on to meet a few adorable Icelandic Horses. We then had a wonderful dinner at a wonderful spot, Mika, where we had deep fried langoustines, I had lamb, my daughter had a pizza and I think my husband had filet. We treated Adam to dinner. This place also had a chocolate factory and we were able to buy some delicious handmade chocolates. Then after dinner, we let Adam do a little research while we ate dessert on the Northern Lights because you have to find them. We went far out, near a River a little off road, about 120km outside Reykjavík. It was a big night for solar activity and we were lucky to have that show! He took out his professional camera and tripod and took amazing photos of our family. He does photography for movies, so he is really good. All in all, the experience was second to none. You will not be sorry if you book this tour. I know people do not usually tip in Europe, but we did tip Adam because this tour was really personal and it was beyond our expectations. You get a little taste of everything!

Just Amazing! I literally have no words to describe how amazing Adam was, he went ubove and beyond to chase the lights for us, he was amazing, he also took photos of us with the lights on his camera that were outstanding 🤍 he has great knowledge of iceland, from Geysirs to Volcanos, he took us to beautiful view spots, waterfalls and also provided shoe grips for our safety, As a group he took us for a beautiful meal, easy flowing conversation full of laughter and an over all great time, he also made sure we all got back safely to our hotels, he was just the best! Highly recommended xx

We had an amazing super cheap tour of the valley with south coast. Our guide, Ingimar, was terrific. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and a total pleasure to be with. It was a really fun day. This is a must.

I cannot fault Adam and Kinga. From the first contact, Kinga was clear and welcoming and on the day, everything played out as she explained. We didn't meet Kinga, but Adam is a master of his craft and just a lovely bloke. We got picked up at midday and drove to Þingvellir via a stop for food (schwarma wraps and croissants). Adam took his time explaining where we needed to walk and while in the car was extremely conversational, his English is perfect. While at each site, he largely left us to our own devices which was good as we got to stroll around at our leisure. He also got us on the road before the main bus tours su we pretty much had the place to ourselves. While at Geysir, he explained what was happening and where to go to get the best views. What a place. I very much enjoyed my girlfriend staring intently at the geysir then turning around at the moment it erupted making her jump! Gullfoss in the twilight was exceptional and then when the Northern Lights seemed unlikely we went to the Secret Lagoon before going to Cafe Mika which was very high quality. On the way home, Adam suddenly stopped the car and shouted "WE HAVE NORTHERN LIGHTS!!" At first, it just seemed like a band of cloud but as we got acclimatised to the dark and the lights got stronger by virtue of the magnetic field switching to the south we got a real treat. Adam took some spectacular photos of us before we headed home. All in all, PERFECT. I can't thank Adam enough for making the trip everything we hoped it would be.

Adam was excellent from pre-booking queries to the end of a brilliant afternoon and evening. He is so knowledgeable and interesting to talk to and takes a real interest in his guests. We were lucky enough to be able to see the Northern Lights all thanks to Adam searching them out and driving us to best areas to get a chance of seeing them. Would highly recommend.

We did the Golden Circle and Northern lights tour. Our guide Adam was amazing. He provided history of each site we visited and tons of information on Iceland. He made the hunting and waiting for the northern lights to appear fun and would not stop until we got a view. Then stopped when we saw them again. By far our favorite excursion during our trip. He even took several photos of us trying to be sure we got an awesome shot.

Amazing day! We saw so many great sites and the lights were perfectly majestic! Thank you Adam for all the great information and taking good care of our group. Will do it again!

Adam was absolutely phenomenal! He’s knowledgeable about everything to geography to history to trivia, he takes breathtaking photographs, and he’s so much fun to spend the day with! Highly recommend booking this tour.

I went on the Golden Circle & Northern Lights small group tour on 12/1/22 and it was absolutely amazing! I loved being in a small group of 5 plus our tour guide, Adam, who was great! We started off with the Golden Circle stops followed by dinner at Mika and then went off to find the Aurora. Did we see the Northern Lights? You bet we did! The solar activity was pretty good and Adam got some great pictures of us. Friends of mine opted to take the bus tour instead of this one and their experience left much to be desired and they didn’t see the lights. Instead their bus driver pointed out some of the constellations. I highly recommend this small group tour. If you want to see the lights, you want to be able to go off the beaten path in a small vehicle.

We booked a private tour with Adam through Try Iceland Tours and it was an amazing experience! 10 stars out of 5! Adam was an extremely knowledgeable, professional, and hard-working tour guide. We did the Golden Circle and Northern Lights Tour with door to door service from our hotel. Overall, it was about 12 hours, which is extremely good value for what we paid. We started off at Þingvellir, where it was a good balance of guided walking with Adam recounting the location’s history and some time for just our party to explore on our own. The views here were absolutely stunning. The next two stops were close to each other, Geysir & Strokkur and Gullfoss. Both of these showcased the really interesting waterfalls and hydrothermal activity in Iceland’s geography. Beautiful views here as well. All throughout the driving, Adam would recount really interesting tidbits about Iceland’s culture, history, and his own life journey. Once it was evening, we had dinner at a traditional yet upscale Icelandic restaurant. However, the best was saved for last. On this particular night, the forecast for northern lights wasn’t stellar. As the evening got darker, we would see more tour company busses ferrying tourists around for a glimpse of the Northern Lights. However, Adam was confident he knew where the best spot to see the lights were, even if it was going in the opposite direction of the other busses. He used his knowledge of online weather data and Icelandic roads to really find a beautiful spot for the Northern Lights. Adam was driving around several of the spots he knew were best for seeing the northern lights. He worked extremely hard to make sure we wouldn’t go home empty-handed! After about an hour of searching, we struck gold! Adam drove about 45 minutes outside of Reykjavik to make sure we didn’t have any light pollution. And it worked! We finally saw the northern lights we were looking for. He also worked hard to ensure that any pictures we took had perfect lighting, because it is not easy to have the right lighting for both the lights in the background and us in the foreground. Overall it was a really great experience where we learned a lot and saw even more. I can’t recommend Adam more highly and will definitely be booking tours with Try Iceland when I return.

Adam went above and beyond in making sure the tour experience was one to remember. Adam is knowledgeable in both local culture and the deep history that Iceland holds. Adam connected well with our tour group and made great efforts to show us the beauty of Iceland. The greatest part of the tour was of course the northern lights. However, the forecast showed level one. This did not stop Adam. During dinner, Adam went out to test out some possible viewing sites. Though the showing level was low, we were shocked to that Adam found the perfect location to see this amazing natural event. Adam took photos for us on his camera to document our treasured memory of a lifetime. Adam really came through and made the trip one to forever remember. I would totally book him again for a future tour!

Adam is the best tour guide you could possibly have. Our experience was wonderful visiting the golden circle but his determination to get us to see the northern lights was a really fun adventure and we got to see them 3 times in different places. They were spectacular and it’s thanks to Adam for having such knowledge skill & enthusiasm to find them. The small group size of this tour was also a real positive and his jeep is very comfortable.

This tour was exactly what we were looking for. Adam is an awesome guide, he is so incredibly knowledgable and a very interesting person! He loves the outdoors and adventures and that passion really shows. We really wanted a small guided tour and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. We had such an amazing day or sightseeing, followed by a lovely meal and then to top it off, Adam took us to an amazing spot where we were lucky enough to see the northern lights. He was just as excited as we were to see them! This tour is a must! Would highly recommend it.

Adam is a fantastic tour guide! Every detail of our adventure was planned and executed perfectly. He is very knowledgable Iceland's history and natural wonders. We enjoyed riding around in his comfortable Jeep and had many great conversations with him and the other people on our tour. Each stop on the tour was stunning. Adam studied the weather forecast and took us to a beautiful spot to watch the northern lights and helped us to take photos to capture aurora.
