Highlights
  • Travel comfortably between Iceland outdoor highlights in a super jeep
  • Tick off many top Golden Circle highlights, including Gullfoss Waterfall
  • Get the chance to spot the Northern Lights in areas with no light pollution
  • No need to plan transport—door-to-door transfers are included
What to expect
  • Start with a Reykjavik hotel pickup, and travel inland by Super Jeep, a comfortable 4x4 designed to negotiate rugged terrain. As you travel, hear from your guide about Iceland’s volcanic geology and perhaps use the flexible itinerary to adjust the times you spend at each site, according to your group’s wishes. Stop first at Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004. Learn how the landscapes have been formed over millennia, and absorb the contrast between the lush green vegetation and rich, black ground. See Lake Thingvallavatn, Iceland’s largest natural lake, and stop at Althing, where the world’s first parliament met in AD 930. Travel on to Geysir, a geothermal field of hot springs, steam vents and the remnants of an old volcano. Stroll around the boiling mud pools and view Strokkur; the geyser that shoots hot water high in the sky every few minutes. Continue to Gullfoss Waterfall, whose name means ‘Golden Falls,’ a reference to the shimmering, multi-colored mists that can sometimes appear above the waters. Admire the waterfall, whose waters plunge into a canyon, and if the weather permits, get close to the cascades. As dusk falls, begin your quest for the Northern Lights. Iceland is one of the world’s best places to see them, and your all-terrain 4x4 and knowledgeable guide will allow you to identify and access the best potential viewing sites. On your search, hear how the lights appear when cosmic rays, solar wind, and magnetospheric plasma interact with the upper atmosphere. Make stops to survey the dark skies, and with luck, enjoy a sighting. The pulsating colors of the lights, usually green and blue, split the darkness and sometimes shine brighter than the moon. Your tour finishes with a hotel drop-off.

Wow, wow and wow!!
Wow wow and wow!! An absolutely amazing afternoon/ night spent with Adam visiting the golden circle and then Northern Light hunting..... even though they didn't want to come out and perform to begin with, Adam didn't give up hope and it all paid off in the end with a truly magical display of beautiful colours.... would 100% recommend this tour, Adam will go above and beyond to make it a day to remember. Thank you

Adam truly made our whole Iceland trip! Such a lovely, friendly and knowledgeable guy. I can not recommend this tour more highly, if you are thinking of going to Iceland, you must book this tour with Adam. Even though we did not see the Northern lights due to such extreme weather, it didn’t matter one bit, as Adam provided so much knowledge and took us to some breathtaking sights in his brilliant comfortable luxury jeep where he even provided us with hot drinks. He took us to a game of thrones location along with some other truly breathtaking sites and we had all the time we wanted to take photos. We even got to experience a snow blizzard which was literally out of this world and Adam ensured we got back safe and sound to our hotel. It was my sisters 50th birthday celebration whilst we were there, and can’t thank Adam enough for making this truly memorable for us all. Adam had the same birthday as my sister in March, so Adam we want to thank you from all 4 of us for making our Iceland trip the most memorable breathtaking experience ever! This tour is a definite must with a truly lovely genuine guy. Thank you so much Adam, you totally made our Iceland trip and you enabled us to have memories that will last a lifetime! We will definitely be booking with you again when we come back and have already recommended you to friends. A HUGE thank you!

Amazing, authentic experience
This was one of the best holiday tours we have ever done! Adam couldn’t have been kinder or more welcoming. He really knows his stuff, too! He went above and beyond to make sure we got what we wanted out of the trip and was so accommodating. We had already seen Gullfoss waterfall so he really kindly dropped us at a nearby lagoon which was amazing! His photography skills are an added bonus too - he took some fab pics of us under the Northern Lights! Definitely go on a tour if you can!

Amazing tour !
Mar 2020
What an amazing trip ! Our host took us to some breathtaking scenery .his priority was the safety of his passengers. We went in a Jeep ,which no doubt took us to places that a coach or minibus wouldn’t be able to get to . Our guide is so knowledgable in what he does. We travelled through all sorts of weather conditions, and he was confident in his driving ability. The icing on the cake was seeing the northern lights , where he tracked where he thought the lights would show. We went off road up on the mountain trails, and as soon as he thought we might see them we could get out . We saw them on 2 different locations, and he was kind enough to take our photo which he is following on to us. We could leave my daughters emergency medical equipment in his vehicle which was great . You are a lovely guy and made our holiday perfect. Thank you so much ! Lesley & Lauren

Optimism pays off
Feb 2020 • Friends
We went on the Golden Circle tour and it was great. Adam furnished a lot of local information on the sites we saw. It was cloudy all day and at dinner he reviewed the weather developments and formulated a plan which would allow flexibility to find a hole in the cloud cover. The sky’s cleared during our travels and He drove off the beaten path to limit the light pollution.. We saw the Northern lights and Adam helped with photography. Fantastic Viewing. Other tours canceled that day due to cloudy predictions. Thanks for your optimism and perseverance.

100% Best way to see the Golden Circle
Feb 2020 • Family
We went with Try Iceland. The host made it such a personal experience. His knowledge and ability to know where and when to divert to when tracking the northern lights with such skill and enthusiasm was incredible. He went way above and beyond to make sure we had the experience of a lifetime. If it costs a bit more than the big coaches, then make savings elsewhere to pay the extra to go with him - I cannot recommend highly enough.

Awesome and memorable
Feb 2020
Sometimes on holiday, you have a magical experience which lives with you for the rest of your life. This was one of those. The Icelandic scenery was breathtaking and the beauty of Geysir and Gullfoss in the winter setting sun, truly awesome. Adam, our driver and guide, collected us and ensured that we were safe and comfortable throughout the trip, even to the extent of providing walking poles and crampons so that we did not slip on the ice. He answered our questions and seemed knowledgable. We stopped for a simple meal (not included) after which the Northern Lights were moderately active so we were lucky. Adam is adept at photographing these and even took photos of our party of four set against the Northern Lights. The advantage of this trip is that you are deep in the countryside near Geysir away from the crowds and light pollution so if the sky is clear and the lights are active, you will see them. We would have no hesitation in recommending this trip to others.

Excellent tour and excellent guide!
Feb 2020 • Couples
Our tour guide Adam was so accommodating and friendly he couldn't do enough for our small group of x4 - we went in a big jeep that seats only 7, glad we chose this rather than going with a coach load, much more personal and comfortable we even had hot drinks on board. We were picked up right outside our hotel at midday and dropped back at 1am - definitely got our money's worth from the day! First we visited the national park which, then the geysers and gulfoss waterfall - all incredible. Then after a patient wait we stopped off the day seeing the northern lights and Adam very kindly took photos of us for free, despite it being -15 he didn't not rush us and even went out of his way to find good photograph spots whilst we stayed warm in the car! I would highly recommend this tour and Try Iceland in particular. We'll be back in the summer to try your other excursions Adam. Thank you :D

A wonderful experience with Adam
This tour covers a lot of impressive attractions of South Iceland, including Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir, Gullfoss, and most importantly, seeing the famous Northern Lights.

Adam, our tour guide, was especially knowledgable about everything Icelandic and he is definitely a highlight in our tour!
