- Please note that PADI open water license or comparable is required to be able to participate in this tour. As all dives are performed in a dry suit, it is required to have a dry-suit certification or at least 10 logged drysuit dives to be able to join the tour.
- Divers must supply their sizes of suit upon booking. It is recommended that your most recent dive has been within the last 2 years before diving in Silfra, as this dive is rated as a challenging dive.
- Since you will be wearing snorkeling/dive mask to see underwater, there can be nothing in the way of the seal to keep them from filling up with water; That is, you cannot wear glasses underneath the mask; you will have to go without them, so wear contact lenses or bring your own goggles with prescription.
- Please note: This is a challenging dive where you need to be capable of carrying heavy equipment up to 1300ft (400m).
- As divers are aware, it is strongly advised to wait 24 hours after diving to fly.
- Travelers should have a strong physical fitness level
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund

Absolutely wonderful dive. The water clarity was other worldly. Our small group of divers was guided by Giancarlo he was extremely patient. Not only was the whole team helpful with the assembly of the equipment, but they also kept safety in mind the entire time. I also recommend taking the drysuit course with dive.is Jennifer was absolutely a Saint with learning the new type of buoyancy even as it created a few laughs. 10/10 highly recommend!

DO NOT BOOK THEIR TOURS! I wish there could be 0 or negative score for this. I waited in the wind for an hour and had to call twice (first time I was told to wait a bit longer, yet on the second time I was told they had already left!) there were zero contact from Arctic Adventures or the guide/driver whatsoever, which was so important if there are like a hundred people waiting at the bus stop at the same time (also this company somehow don’t go to many stops while others are happy to arrange pickup from those stops), I had to make all the efforts and yet not even able to start the trip! What’s worse, when I tried to contact the company for refund and explanation on the day and days after, there had not been a single reply since multiple messages/contacts. Terrible communication! You are just being ignored as the customer throughout the process! Such a SCAM! My friends were on different tours because of the availability, and they went there without a issue! DO NOT BOOK THEIR TOUR!

We enjoyed using Arctic Adventures for two of our tours while on a short stay in Reykjavik. The online process was easy and all available tours are thoroughly explained. Pick up locations are vast and and the vans being used are clearly identified and are both clean and safe. Drivers are friendly and informational.
We chose to do both Silfra snorkeling and the Northern Lights tours.
Silfra is a must when visiting Iceland. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing and was very organized. The equipment used is in excellent condition and all of the tour operators are very helpful while trying to get suited up for the adventure. The water was crystal clear and excitingly cold and we had a very thorough briefing in the shallow waters prior to Venturing out into the deeper water. Our guide made us all feel safe and prepared. The company takes a lot of fun GoPro photos of each participant while doing the snorkel tour and surprisingly these photos are uploaded later in the evening for you to pick and choose from while saving them to your computer device. There is no charge to download these photos to your device which is a huge bonus as coming from America, there would be an up charge if you wished to keep the photos. Not in Iceland… Not only is the country amazing, clean and safe, the people are top notch kind to everyone. These photos make great memories for you to keep in your scrapbook or to send to your friends as to show them the fun things you did while on vacation in Iceland.
Next tour was a visit to see the northern lights. Our tour left at 9:30 PM and it was a beautiful night with clear skies. We drove out into the darkness and parked at the perfect spot. We waited and waited yet did not see the beautiful imagery of the dancing lights. The conditions were perfect however mother nature did not cooperate. Our driver took us to a next location but yet again we were not successful in seeing any of the lights. Our driver was very informational and it was a pleasure speaking with him and asking him questions about any and everything regarding Iceland. He was equipped with his nice camera in the event that we were to see the northern lights so that he could take photographs of us with the lights behind us. we tried a third location nearby yet again, no northern lights popping up anywhere. Arctic adventures is so awesome that when you don’t see the northern lights on your tour, they will honor your return on another night to try again at no extra charge. This is a very honorable offering as once again, if we were in the USA, we would not have been offered a do-over free of charge. I respect this about Arctic adventures.
When I return later next month, I plan on trying the northern lights again as well as maybe doing the ice caves. I will definitely be using the same company as their reliability is on point! Everything about the transaction is easy which is a huge bonus! I highly recommend this company for those interested in a great tour operator.

I booked this experience with a month in advance and provided my required sizes for equipment. I was expecting an unforgettable experience but the result was anything but great. Even though I provided my measures for the equipment, I was given a drysuit more than 2 sizes bigger, huge boots and extremely large gloves. I spent all the dive trying to manage my trim as with an oversized suit the buoyancy was impossible. The gloves were huge and as soon as I got into the water I felt cold because there was no insulation. This is unacceptable and dangerous, any responsible instructor would not allow a dive under these conditions but Artic Adventures guide did not to care even though I raised the concern of my unsuitable equipment. The snorkelers, however, had appropriate equipment, in the sizes I needed, even though they were just floating at the surface and not submerging themselves at 4 degrees Celsius water.
To top the bad experience off, the instructor came with weight belts without asking any questions. My weight was too much and my dive was pathetic, I struggled all the way, this was the worst experience ever. For £200 for under 30 minutes dive under unsafe conditions, this is a disaster, an unnecessary risk and a total rip-off.
I recommend people who want to enjoy a dive in Silfra to go with dive.is, they're more expensive but they're responsible divers. I tried to save some money going with this disastrous company Artic Adventures and paid the price for being cheap (however this is not even cheap!)
Finally, the guide didn't even show us the place were we could touch the two continents and get a picture. He rushed the dive...deplorable service overall.

Great adventure. Perfect weather and support from guides and staff. Prepare yourself for Iceland and enjoy. If you do not like confined spaces, do not dive. You can then enjoy the snorkeling instead.

Fede was my tour guide, and she helped me suit up and prepared me for the dive. I was a bit anxious about the dive, but she took good care of me. I had difficulty with my buoyancy, and she helped me get through the dive successfully.
