          Best birthday ever!
Nikos was a fantastic guide! He was very knowledgeable, funny, and patient. Although the beautiful northern lights are unpredictable Nikos was so determined to try his best! We did get to see the lights and it was truly a magical experience that I will hold very close to my heart. Thank you Nikos for making our experience a wonderful memorable one!

Stunning scenery, excellent Christoph as guide
Aside from the scenery, the star of the show was our guide Christoph. Tour was excellent, Christoph was so friendly, professional, informative, helpful.. but truly outdone himself on return trip, with weather closing in, he guided us home safely, when we had seen an artic lorry, 5 cars, which were less fortunate that us, had gone into roadside from poor road conditions. Christoph at all times put our safety first, and yet, whilst trip slightly curtailed due to adverse weather, it did not impact on fantastic day and trip. He's to be commended for all if the above, but he can't claim credit for the scenery...

          Glacier Hike
We did the Glacier Explorer Hike. Def would consider this a moderate hike. Some more challenging elements, but plenty of time to really enjoy your surroundings and catch your breath if needed. We were truly lucky to have fantastic weather and a great guide - Darragh. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

EPIC CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE FOR AUSTRALIAN MOTHER AND DAUGHTER
EPIC!! My daughter & I had the most adventurous, fun, comfortable, warm, interesting exciting WILD time of our lives. 1600klms & 49 hours of driving the ring road of Iceland with our adorable Guide/Driver "YOI". He does have an Icelandic name but I can't remember it - sorry Yoi. Despite the snow, blizzards & road closures/challenges etc. Yoi got us to our destinations safely with his unique Icelandic comic relief. Note the Santa Suit which we could always find him amongst the crowd. The accommodation was warm & comfortable, breakfast was plentiful and the sites just out of this world. The whole landscape was like a movie set - think "Interstellar" or "Game of Thrones" . and YES we saw WHALES! We loved the glaciers, the horse farm, the geothermal baths, the food, everything. Christmas Dinner at The Wilderness Centre was very special. The food was authentic Icelandic Christmas fare & Christmas singing with Yoi, & fellow tour group (maybe it was the delicious Christmas beer which helped make it so special) was unforgettable. OH and the Sauna and outside dip in -10 degrees was pretty unforgettable too! Thank you Yoi for your wonderful guidance and safe handling of us all. You made our Christmas 2024 one of the most memorable times of our lives.

          Great experience in Iceland 🇮🇸
I fell in love with the beautiful views which this country offers. Starting with the Krafta volcano and the green cliffs along the road. I loved the hiking of the Skaftafell glacier, a little difficult but definitely worth it. Anyway Matei, our guide, who brought us around the southern coast of Iceland, was very friendly and explained us very interesting things about the country and the different points of interest along the trip. I definitely recommend the experience to everyone!! 😎

          3-Days Tour
We went on the 3-day tour to explore the South coast. Our guide was very well prepared and he shared with us many interesting facts about the different sites (and he is also very funny). The only thing I would change, is to have a bit longer stops to appreciate and explore more deeply all the sites. Despite that, the tour was very enjoyable and I would recommend it!

Tour guide insisted I’m Chinese and I’ve told him I’m from Taiwan.
I was being racisms and discriminated by a local tour guide. 被旅行團導遊種族歧視,中文內容滑到最下面 I booked a day tour to Golden circle on 8 Feb, my agent was Arctic advanteures. Then the bus coming to me was your day tour. Tour guide just assumed and called me Chinese, I’ve clarified I’m from Taiwan. And he insisted I’m a Chinese if I speak Mandarin Chinese. So people speak English are all American. People speak Spanish are all Spanish ??? There are a lot of people speak mandarin/Chinese in Asia, but he just kept saying Chinese is a culture, it doesn’t mean I’m from China. I’ve clarified I’m not comfortable about what he said, he just kept having excuse for his rude behavior. Afterward, he came and told me he called people “Allah” and those people were not angry and didn’t care they were from other countries. How can a tour guide call people by their religion ? I don’t understand why a tour guide was saying that and he was not aware any of his inappropriate behavior, he even defended and argued for himself. I didn’t pay for being lessened by an icelandic tour guide about being Chinese or hearing he’s calling people Allah. His comments made me uncomfortable while journey. I didn’t have any mood to enjoy the beauty in Iceland and this is my last day in Iceland, that’s the memory I got. Plus, when I was waiting for pickup, as I said my agent was arctic adventures but this car was your day tour, I didn’t receive any mail that the car to pick me up would be your day tour, I paid a lot attention on arctic adventures mini bus. this tour guide even didn’t get down the car and yell the name. I went and asked eventually and he said he was waiting some Asian and Chinese. I asked who is he waiting. He said “ I don’t know how to say their name, don’t know how to say their name”. He repeated himself twice. He even didn’t try or spell the names ! It’s me having a look on his waiting list and found myself there. And he told everyone in the car there’s some Asian or Chinese. But he still stayed in the car, I was not sure if he’s doing any effort to reach these people. Then he just called his agency and said these people didn’t show up and he couldn’t wait he had to go. Then we left. But based on my experience, he even didn’t get down the car, and it’s me checking my name on my own. He just waited and thought people would come and ask. Anyways, horrible experience and already wrote the review and report to the agent and government.

          Poor communication and poor service
Never got picked up for the Golden Circle touring even while waiting at the designated pick up point for over an hour. Poor communication from the travel agent despite calling 12 times before, during and after pick up times.

          Highly dependent on your guide
Assumed Super Jeep would get us a way more remote experience. We drove 45 min towards KEF airport and pulled off onto an “off road” location. Still lots of light pollution from Reykjavík could be seen. I think our tour guide was Pollic? We went to one location and planted the whole time while I’ve read multiple reviews of other tour guides “not giving up” until lights are seen going to multiple locations. I stayed out the whole time and my friend and I had to grab the guide from the bus to let him know activity was picking up slightly. We didn’t end up seeing anything but everyone was rounded up for a photo where it could be “seen” in the background. Guide was knowledgable but felt like he could’ve gone a little more above/beyond as I’ve read in other reviews. Again, disappointed with the “off road” location with so much light pollution - in our case not worth the Super Jeep price.

          Northern Lights Tour-fantastic!
We had a fantastic night for the Northern lights tour. It was a small group which was brilliant and our guide H was excellent! So passionate about his country and was determined we would get to see the lights which we did! He has super local knowledge and took lots of photos for the whole group!

This experience although expensive for a 1 dive day was definitely worth it to scuba dive / snorkel one of the top 5 dive sites in the world.

Booked via an agent for Artic Adventures. So in hindsight it may pay to look around / book directly. Also, I needed a bus stop 1 pick up and there wasn’t an option to do this on this booking site, but it can obviously be done

Our guides for the day were DM Dominica and Krisztian. Both fabulous at sizing you up and making the dive fun, safe and enjoyable. It was excellent to see the attention to safety as there was top cover, O2 and an emergency kit bought to the waters edge.
Unfortunately my suit had a big leak so although I was warm enough… I was cold after 35 mins. However, they had a warm van for changing in and plenty of hot chocolate and biscuits post dive.

Had I known in advance both the divers and snorkelers almost do the same route my partner would have come with me for a snorkel.

The dive is not stunning in the Red Sea / tropical category of vibrant life n colour but diving through the cracked fissures of the earth is incredible and we saw 1 large trout.
Visibility was gin clear from filtered glacial waters and must have been at least 40m.

        Facility wise there are toilets.
No changing room and no snack van so come prepared.

Would recommend as they seemed to pay good attention to safety and quality of experience.

Dominica and Kristezen were both excellent and worked well together.

This was our first visit to Iceland and the team from Artic adventures didn’t let us down. From the first meeting to prep for two days of diving to being able to change on the fly due to weather conditions. This team had us dialed in. For four days our group was immersed in the history and culture of the island. Look no further and give the team at Artic Adventures a try. Before I forget their names; Gunn, Nick, Mattia and Byron. Can’t forget my dive guide Nino at Silfra. Thank you for my first visit being an enjoyable one. Btw, give a shot out to Kevin if you happen to run into him:)

Absolutely wonderful dive. The water clarity was other worldly. Our small group of divers was guided by Giancarlo he was extremely patient. Not only was the whole team helpful with the assembly of the equipment, but they also kept safety in mind the entire time. I also recommend taking the drysuit course with dive.is Jennifer was absolutely a Saint with learning the new type of buoyancy even as it created a few laughs. 10/10 highly recommend!

I booked this experience with a month in advance and provided my required sizes for equipment. I was expecting an unforgettable experience but the result was anything but great. Even though I provided my measures for the equipment, I was given a drysuit more than 2 sizes bigger, huge boots and extremely large gloves. I spent all the dive trying to manage my trim as with an oversized suit the buoyancy was impossible. The gloves were huge and as soon as I got into the water I felt cold because there was no insulation. This is unacceptable and dangerous, any responsible instructor would not allow a dive under these conditions but Artic Adventures guide did not to care even though I raised the concern of my unsuitable equipment. The snorkelers, however, had appropriate equipment, in the sizes I needed, even though they were just floating at the surface and not submerging themselves at 4 degrees Celsius water.

To top the bad experience off, the instructor came with weight belts without asking any questions. My weight was too much and my dive was pathetic, I struggled all the way, this was the worst experience ever. For £200 for under 30 minutes dive under unsafe conditions, this is a disaster, an unnecessary risk and a total rip-off.

I recommend people who want to enjoy a dive in Silfra to go with dive.is, they're more expensive but they're responsible divers. I tried to save some money going with this disastrous company Artic Adventures and paid the price for being cheap (however this is not even cheap!)

Finally, the guide didn't even show us the place were we could touch the two continents and get a picture. He rushed the dive...deplorable service overall.

We drove to the National Park first and walked some easy trails near Silfra. Very pretty and relaxing. The Silfra fissure snorkeling is a once in lifetime experience. Just beautiful. But, please wear the dry suit and not a wet suit, even if they try to convince you to wear a wet suit. I’ve never been so cold!

My wife and I just got back from a diving tour through the cold glacier waters of Silfra.

We had an amazing time and the dive spot is something I strongly recommend all divers with a dry suit certificate!
Our guide Chris was as good as they come. Open, social and really easy going. You made our experience even better!

OMGoddess what an amazing experience. Our guide Robert got us geared up and prepared us for a lifetime opportunity to swim in COLD freshwater with deep visibility and blues and greens and browns that was stunning to witness.

Robert helped me laugh through my fear of the cold water and other than my hands I was able to enjoy and focus on the view rather than my chilly to the bone fingers.

I loved the workout this provided (40 minute swim and snorkel) and the buoyancy of our dry suits and how brave my body was to do this in mid February with air temperatures at -2 degrees celsius.

I truly enjoyed Robert's humor and how he kept me looking at the positive side of things and how much passion he has for his Joy Of Being. We took a shine to this young man who was endearing in so many ways.

I am so grateful for having had this experience and being in such good hands and feeling so safe and then so EMPOWERED by completing this adventure. Woohoo!!!!

And then of course there was the hot chocolate and tin of crisps that ROBERT brought from England yum!!!

We booked the snorkelling tour and I can’t recommend it enough. From the pick up by Nick, who was entertaining and informative, to the efficiency of the team at the site, to Hugo our guide as we swam through the chilly glacial waters. It was a bloody great experience from start to finish and I’ll definitely be using Artic Adventures on my next trip to Iceland

To do the review in sections and with a caveat that I am in the category often described as ‘senior citizen’ and by far the oldest of our group of six:

        1. Pickup arrangements from the cruise ship were a bit muddy. There have been some recent port changes so it’s worth getting very specific information beforehand if you’re arriving by boat.

        2. The transport with Franklin as driver was a hoot. His driving was fine but the commentary was even better, a bit off the wall and informative at the same time. Top marks.

        3. The location at Silfra was very busy with snorkelling and scuba groups meaning that the wait times too get in the water weren’t ideal but hey, it is what it is. And I was a tourist so a part of the problem so shouldn’t complain.

        4. The supplied equipment seemed fine. I’m used to wet suits but dry suits are a very different kettle of fish and I thought that if anyone was claustrophobic the whole experience might have been not the best idea.

        5. Magd, our guide was personable, efficient and appeared to be a very capable border collie presence for our group. Top marks again.

Overall it was a very satisfying experience. The drift itself is unlike anything I’ve been in before and well worth doing. The appearance of a fish was quite a serendipitous event.

        Overall?

        No regrets at all.

And a great T shirt design if you’re in the ‘been there, done that and I’ve got the T shirt too’ category

What a great experience! Siggi picked us up at our hotel and drove us to Thingvellir where we met up with the rest of the group and got outfitted with out dry suits. It was very cold and raining but we were comfortable in the suits. Hugo led our group of 6 through the fissure, making sure everyone was doing okay and even taking photos of each of us. The colors in the fissure are amazing! After the snorkel we had hot cocoa and cookies, the Siggi dropped us back at our hotel. A very fun day!
