'Game of Thrones' Filming Locations Tour From Reykjavik
From $119.68
Overview
Explore southern Iceland from a very different perspective than most Golden Circle tours on a Game of Thrones-themed tour led by a guide who was an extra on the show. Hear fun behind-the-scenes info about the TV series from your guide as you go, and see Thingvellir National Park, along with a couple of locations unique to this particular tour. Plus, round-trip transport from Reykjavik in a climate-controlled van takes away the stress of planning out rides beforehand.
What to Expect
Start your tour with pickup from your Reykjavik hotel, or make your own way to the prearranged meeting point. Join your guide and board a comfortable coach for a scenic drive through southern Iceland’s rugged terrain, picking up history and trivia about the popular Game of Thrones TV series along the way.

Upon arrival at the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Thingvellir National Park, hop out to see the land where the White Walkers and Wildlings roamed north of the Wall, including the fissure of tectonic plates at Thingvellir Gorge.

Then, make a quick stop for refreshments (own expense) before continuing to Lake Thingvallavatn, one of Iceland’s largest natural lakes and one of the country’s most popular attractions. Though not a filming location, the lake's beauty makes it a worthwhile stop.

Other stops featured in Game of Thrones include the Thorufoss waterfall, Thjorsárdalur Valley, and Almannagjá Gorge. This tour concludes in Reykjavik.

Great tour even if you've never seen the show!

We went more inland to see the different sites, we were even able to stop off at a waterfall that wasn't a normal part of the tour. The guide was knowledgeable about the show (according to my husband who is a fan), friendly, and he...More

One of my favorite tours I've been on, a must for anyone who's a GOT fan. Theo, who was an extra on the show, tells a bunch of great behind the scene stories, along with interesting Icelandic history and some fun stunt/filming tricks. His dark...More

They are totally different, if you have time take both. GOT goes to places scenes where some of the TV show we’re filmed, in my opinion the most beautiful landscapes in the country. You will not have crowds of tourists. The... More

This is a Grey-line escorted tour and it departs from the bus station in Reykjavik. Their stops will change based on how many tours are set up. You should go on line and view their site. But I don't know how you would be... More
