From towering waterfalls to bubbling geysers, some of Iceland’s most dramatic landmarks are clustered around the Golden Circle. This full-day, guided coach tour takes in the highlights, including Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, and Strokkur Waterspout. Let someone else navigate and drive, so you can relax and enjoy the spectacular views as a guide shares the fascinating stories behind the scenery. Tour includes convenient pickup and drop-off from Reykjavik.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your centrally located Reykjavik hotel, or at the cruise port, and then leave the city behind as you head into Iceland’s rugged, mountainous interior.

The first stop on the Golden Circle route is Thingvellir National Park, where Iceland held its first parliamentary assembly. Hear guide commentary about the site as you admire the pristine beauty, and peer into the Thingvellir Rift, two tectonic plates joined by a narrow valley.

Next, head to Gullfoss Waterfall, double-tiered cascades that send up spectacular mist and occasional rainbows.

Continue along the Golden Circle to an area simmering with volcanic activity, hot springs, pools, and steam vents. Keep your camera ready at Strokkur, a powerful waterspout that erupts 98 feet (30 meters) in the air. This Golden Circle tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.

Very interesting.

Did the shortened version of this tour due to time constraints.punctual pick ups. Driver very good. Guide very informative with a good sense of humour. Although it was the shortened tour we found that we had ample time at each location

We spent a great day taking in the main sights (waterfall, geyser, tectonic plates and old parliament location, wooden church) guided by the wonderful Olefur. He was incredibly knowledgeable, not just about the things we were seeing, but about Icelandic history, geology and economy. He...More

We took the 9.30 trip but make sure u are outside your hotel for pickup from 9, we were back at our hotel for 5.30/5.45 your return will depend on tour guide and the amount of stops the bus will make dropping people off.
