About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- AlyDrumm0 contributionsNot a nice welcome at allVisited with my family. Views amazing, but the woman working on reception was very rude, abrupt and awful. Not the welcome you expect on your vacation!Written January 11, 2025
- lindaeU3768YA0 contributionsDon't miss this hot bath in HusavikDelightful local geothermal pool spa outdoors in the icy fresh air. It wasn't crowded. You can enjoy drinks in plastic glasses. Very rejuvenating.Written September 11, 2024
- tootsymoo0 contributionsClean, warm and lovely viewOur slot was booked for late lunch time but they very kindly let us in as soon as they opened at midday. Very accommodating and made us feel welcome. Changing rooms clean, showers are open (no doors) but all confined within the women’s section. Lockers confused us but missed the signs showing you what to do (push the door to, swipe your bracelet on main control pad and it seals with the locker number display) Pools were actually much much cleaner than my other review (different region) and felt more cared for. The heated water by the bar was lovely. Views are lovely over the ocean and bay. The day was really windy, quite cold, but we stayed for about 90 minutes of so, only leaving because we had a boat tour. Could have stayed another half hour or so. Did start to get busy after 1pm with family groups and couples. An enjoyable experience.Written April 21, 2024
- loug19730 contributionsAmazing and relaxing experience fantastic thermal pools overlooking the oceanFantastic and relaxing afternoon spent at Geosea,we did a whale watching cruise in the early afternoon and booked for 5.30.As soon as we entered we knew we were in for a treat ,4 connecting thermal pools and a swim up bar we’re fantastic along with spacious showers and lockers the whole experience was sublimeWritten October 26, 2023
- ClarenceB4990 contributionsJust what the doctor orderedWent at the end of a great day having seen whales, and a great end to the day. There's something special about relaxing in hot pools in the dark, with little but the light from the pools themselves. We spent a couple of hours there, by which time I was well and truly boiled.Written October 10, 2023
- BryantheCaptain0 contributionsA moment of beauty and relaxationSo we wanted to do at least one spa day during our Iceland ring road adventure. We wanted somewhere different as everyone does Blue Lagoon. Husavik is a beautiful town (an hour off ring road) which I strongly suggest you all visit. I had made a reservation and paid weeks earlier but a day before I could not find the confirmation. I had left a message the night before and they called me the next day to rebook my reservation. The night of our reservation was heavy fog (actually met a couple on our flight home who were suppose to go that night but they cancelled because of the weather) When we came upon the spa it was gently hidden in the hill, one of the nicest designs for a building I had ever came across. Upon entry we were warmly greeted and reminded YOU MUST SHOWER. No needs for carrying a lock or wallet as the wristband they give you does both. Two notes for an extra 10 dollars you can get your phone waterproofed. Bring your own towels and you save 10 bucks. The showers and locker facilities were fantastic, the shampoo and soap they provide is wonderful ( You can buy upon leaving but crazy expensive) Upon entering the pool area you have two beautiful infinity pools to enjoy the water , With the fog the glow of the nearby famous lighthouse was even more romantic and breathtaking. The bar itself was fair priced for Iceland. We loved every moment hereWritten January 12, 2023

- U101XLpauls0 contributionsI wish we could have stayed longerAfter a full day of travelling on what was our first full day in Iceland we ended up in Husavik and booked in to GeoSea, it was our first hot pool experience in Iceland and later did the Sky and Blue Lagoons, but Husavik was special as it was our first. The only issue was ours in that we had to get back to our accommodation in Akureyri so couldn't spend as much time as we would have liked. To soak in the thermal salt water and watch the sun slowly go down was an amazing thing.Written November 3, 2022
- gazter0 contributionsFantastic geo thermal pool.Out of all the outside thermal pools I’ve been to in Iceland, including Blue Lagoon and Myvatn. This is the best. It’s not crowded. The layout of the changing rooms, the smart bracelets for lockers and ordering drinks all work. The water is very toasty with an incredible view of the bay. You also can get a discount if you have been whale watching.Written October 28, 2022
- LoveforLuxuryTravel0 contributionsPoorVery unpleasant situation. Drove all the way from Akureyri just to find it closed. They indicate that they are open till late it’s 18:00 and they are closed. What a waste of time and money. Very unreliable information provided.Written October 6, 2022
- FoodyMama0 contributionsYou'll feel pamperedWhat I liked about this place was that it seemed very upscale but wasn't pretentious or costly. The view from the negative-edge pool made us feel as if we were in a magazine shoot, with the mountains and the ocean. I was dealing with an ankle injury and wearing a boot, but they have a seat in the shower area so I could sit down to wash, and once out near the pools, I could take off the boot and get right into the water. Compared to some of the other baths people in our group went to, this was the best and we would rate it the highest. It was also NOT crowded.Written September 12, 2022
- 743walterw0 contributionsSpectacular view from poolsGeoSea – 5 Interesting and lovely spa with thermally heated seawater. Everything here was great. Spa design is visually pleasing but also importantly has an overhang over one pool to shelter clients from cold and wind. The view is spectacular from the pools over the mountains across fjord. The dressing room was nice and the locks actually work.Written August 15, 2022
- abroomhe0 contributionsRelaxing experience, whatever the weather. What an experience! The weather wasn't great, but it didn't really matter. The water is warm and the view is amazing. After you receive your wristband, you enter the dressing room area and remove your shoes and socks before entering the locker room. Find an open locker and hang your clothes in it (but keep your towel with you). Close the door and scan your wristband to lock the locker and assign it to you. Take a shower (naked), put your bathing suit on and enjoy! There is a swim-to bar for drinks, with alcohol free options if you're driving. Be sure not to drink and drive in Iceland.Written August 1, 2022
- rebeccarK3706QN0 contributionsPeaceful, local spa: Go!Wonderful spa/hot tub! We had paid in advance, and discovered after the fact that the whale watching tour we’d done earlier in the day offered a 10% discount on the spa. When we arrived, I asked about this, and we were offered free drinks instead, which was just fine for us! The night was picture-perfect; water was magnificent, views even better, and the people there were having fun in a calm, peaceful way. Not touristy at all, and very clean. We rented towels and bathrobes, which may have been a bit pricey, but what do you do? You’re on vacation, what’s a few extra dollars to be snugly warm when you come out of a hot spa? Definitely one of our favorite evenings of our entire trip.Written July 25, 2022
- 2coats0 contributionsViews over HusainHot water spring with views out to the ocean. A fairly small spa with 2 main pools , both at different temperatures. We went on a wet cloudy day, but it was still great to be in the infinity pool( can only imagine it’s amazing on a clear day). Staff were friendly and you get a tag which you charge drinks to and pay on exit. They charge for towel hire , so take your own.Written July 19, 2022

Super recommended spa. Clean and nice organized (deliver at the entrance a bracelet with which you can access all services). There are only two baths but with spectacular views. During the summer they remain open until midnight, I recommend making the evening entrance to admire the midnight / sunset sun. In addition, they cost slightly less than other spas in Iceland. Absolutely not to be missed for a moment of relaxation!

After a whale watching tour we relaxed in these pools with a really great view - be there for the sunset and enjoy this sensational view with a glass of wine or beer!. The water is salty and pleasant for your skin. To get the time slot you want, be sure to make an online reservation in advance!

The overall experiences and the view from the bath is great, very relaxing experience. We bought the tickets in advance online and the tickets were sold out very quickly! We were there on a Wednesday about 7pm and it was busy but not crowded. The only thing we would comments on were: 1) there's no social distancing in the changing room (small for the number of people inside, but I guess the place was not intended for tourists?); and 2) the changing room could get a bit "messy" as it was not frequently being cleaned; 3) The drinking cups/glasses could also be collected from the pool side more frequently; 4) and there's quite some moss in the cheese barrel side pool - a bit of scrubbing would do the job.

We booked here on New Year's Day hoping to see the 3-4 hours in the spa. We arrived at 1.30 and the woman on reception had a less than welcoming attitude from the start. But the biggest issue was that it closed at 4pm that day and that information was not on the website when we booked. Or even told to us when we arrived. When we questioned this the surly girl on reception got even more unhelpful. She started saying our booking was only for an hour (on the website it says that you can stay as long as you want) and that she had no obligation to tell us it closed early. It feels very dishonest to not make that clear when people book. Another couple arrived at 2.30! The place itself has a great view but I would say is that it is pretty small, it would have been unbearable if it was busy. There is really only one series of connected pools and a steam room. Absolutely not worth the money TBH and the poor service, attitude and lack of communication of opening times sullied the experience even further.

We went to try their baths as the views, in photos, seemed beautiful... and the truth is that they were... seeing snowy mountains by the Arctic sea from an infinity pool at 38 degrees is a pleasure.... The catch is the time to enter or leave the pools... which is windy and cold and you freeze... maybe you should think of some method to avoid those moments.... Also, being a “high” area, it is quite windy and not very pleasant at times.... Still, we liked it... the price was about 45 euros per person and you could stay as long as you wanted... there is a bar to order drinks that are paid for separately... towels and bathrobes, if you are not wearing, they are also paid for separately.... Facilities are fine: clean and spacious.... Comfortable showers... the truth is it's a good choice for thermal showers.

This thermal sea bath was our family’s favorite. We went late in the evening after whale watching earlier in the day. GeoSea seemed a little smaller than some of the other baths, but this only added to the charm. The views were spectacular and the place was very clean. Perfect place to relax. It also seemed to be frequented by many locals which only added to the experience. If you don’t bring a towel, you can rent one. We did rent the robes but found that to be unnecessary. While the water was warm, the temps outside were cold, so a hat or ear covering really made it more enjoyable for us.

This was a very relaxing thermal pool to visit. The ability to do the cold plunge into the surrounding water/ lake added to the experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. At the time I went - late afternoon in summer it was not too busy…peaceful. Highly worth the visit.

Geosea provides a compelling combination of outlook, modern facilities, great spa waters, and infrastructure (eg food and drink delivery, showers and change rooms etc) that really works. The view from the infinity pool-like thermal pools perched high on a cliff overlooking the ocean at husavik is worth the entry fee itself! You can relax in different temperature spas, enjoy the view, have a drink (alcoholic and other) and reconnect with yourself or your partner as the case may be.
As good as any place in Iceland.

We had booked but still had to wait in the locker room for a locker.
Way to crowded when we got there. The potentially great experience kind of got ruined with to many people. The concept looks like a relaxing experience. The next guys toes touching my calves the whole time really is not what we were paying for.
Even dirty and small locker rooms.
Hopefully we just hit on a bad time in the baths.
The view is great.

This geothermal bath beats them all. My new favourite pool in Iceland. I had a great time watching the whales swimming in the fjord and the juices at the bar are super refreshing. Great ambiente and facilities are new and from good quality. Overall a very relaxing and joyful experience with amazing views!
