I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this experience. For the steep price of almost 500 EUR, one naturally expects more—especially given the way the tour is advertised. The promise of seeing whales and puffins up close is a major draw, and the primary reason most people would opt for such an expensive excursion. However, the reality fell far short of expectations. We saw puffins, but only from a distance of approximately 1 kilometer, if not more. As for the whales, we caught just two brief glimpses, and even then, only faint silhouettes were visible. I understand that this is wildlife, and the crew has no control over animal behavior. Yet, it feels dishonest to market the experience in a way that leads customers to expect something far more engaging and intimate. Moreover, the price is highly disproportionate to what is actually delivered. Given the lackluster experience and the misleading advertising, I cannot say that the cost is justified. In essence, it feels like the tour is not delivering on its promises, and customers are left disappointed as a result.

Loved the guide! She was so passionate when she spoke about the whales and gave a lot of informations on their behavior! Loved how close we were while being respectful of the whale’s environment! My one complaint is that we did more with puffins but still enjoyed! Overall one of my favorite days in Iceland and it’s worth the drive up north!

The tour was great. Ended up seeing 3 whales and plenty of puffins. The guide was extremely knowledgeable. Would highly recommend.

Our guide gave us excellent information about the birds, dolphins and whales that we saw. We hit a bonanza day for white beaked and harbor dolphins as they were in pods that seemed as though they had been paid to entertain us! The captain obviously knew how to follow the signs for the wildlife in the sea. A great day!

Fantastic fun! Saw heaps of whales! We would recommend this exciting trip to everyone. We saw heaps of wales up really close. It was unsafe to travel to Puffin island the day we went, so we have to appreciate that our safety was top priority. All the staff were fun and super-friendly!

They did an excellent job rescheduling our trip since the weather was bad in the original area. They gave an option for refund or reschedule. Once on the trip they were very informative and professional. Fun trip.

We unfortunately had a terribly stormy sea and as such, our trip was cut short for safety reasons and we didn't see any whales. What I appreciated was that they gave us the option for either a return visit or a full refund. I value companies that are highly ethical and do the right things. That's how I felt about Selka.

Booking the tour was a little struggle and ended up booking for a higher price (as only then there was place available for the same tour). BUT the tour itself was very well done. Very nice staff both on and off the boat. Have seen several animals: humpback whales, Minke whales, white beaked dolphins. Got good clothing against the wind and a nice hot chocolate on the way back. Left on time and not too busy on board. We didn't get very close to the island of the puffins - which is a bit of a pity as you'd love to see them closer, but also very good that they don't want to disturb the animals breeding - which is of course more important.

This was an amazing whale watching experience. The weather did not fully cooperate (it was wet and rainy), but it didn’t matter. We were provided with plenty of wet weather gear. The guides were knowledgeable. We saw the puffin colony and multiple humpbacks. One even swam under the boat and breached right in front of us. We also saw them feeding. Absolutely incredible!

This was the trip of a lifetime! We were given overalls and a waterproof coat to wear before setting off, it was very much needed as it was a windy day and the waves were quite choppy! There was an informative commentary throughout the trip while the boat searched for any whale sightings alerted by other boats (they keep a safe distance from the whales to protect them) We were extremely lucky to see a Minke whale and several Humpbacks who gave an incredible show-two breaches and lots of fin slapping on the surface of the water! We then moved on to an island where puffins were nesting, the boat couldn’t get too close but we still saw lots of puffins flying and bobbing on the water. I felt very privileged and emotional being able to see these beautiful creatures in the wild, I highly recommend this boat trip!

The crew members on our excursion were terrific and quite knowledgeable. We were disappointed, however, that this company crams WAY too many people on board! I don't even know if that is safe when considering lifeboats. When the crew member directed passengers to a whale sighting, everyone would rush to that side of the boat in hopes of seeing the whale. Unless you happen to be in the right spot, or don't mind being rude and pushing your way through other passengers, or 7 feet tall, you will struggle to see the whales. The boat was much TOO CROWDED.

Sightseeing is unpredictable, but the guide and captain did their best to find wildlife and share their passion with the viewers. All the guide boats talk to each other so you are sure to find something if it’s in the bay.

We went on a rainy and windy day and we were offered to reschedule. Unfortunately we were only in Husavik for one day so we decided to go anyway. Well.. my girlfriend got extremely seasick but i was able to enjoy at least the largest part of the tour. We saw lots of puffins and despite the Weather we briefly saw a whale! The guide was good and took care of the passengers and it was all organized very well. We got a big lifevest from the company so we werent cold.

The trip was really good, great captain and great info on all the animals. Our trip was meant for the Sunday but weather was too bad so they moved it to the Saturday in which we got to see the puffins and the whales and dolphins. Plus great hot chocolate at the end
