We saw five bears that night, so bear wise all was good. However the rest of the experience was really poor. It started with the reception which was far from welcoming. No one asked how to be of help when trying to check in. No info was given unless specifically asked for. The complete opposite of what we experienced at a competitors hide in Lieksa. I would have expected some info on what was seen the recent nights. A nice welcome (and a coffee or tea) but nothing like that. Also the briefing in the filmtheater was very tame, very impersonal, and with incorrect info. So I will never recommend this place to anyone looking for a good hide to see bears or wolverines. Please step up on the receiving part and that will give your clients a much better experience.Written June 10, 2023

We expected a Guided tour and included photography. The guidance stopped at the lookout and the only explanation we got was that we had to be very quiet because the bears were wild animals. (We had thought of that ourselves). Of course you depend on whether the bears show themselves. At 5pm we were at the meeting point. We were dropped at the lookout after a short walk with the announcement that he was not expecting activity for an hour or eight hours. Then our “Guide” left. He did give us a bag of snacks.
Around 7:30 we were lucky that a bear came and a second bear a little later. Then our “Guide” was also reconnected. After about ten minutes we had to go again (it was also dark and the bears were gone.) Around 20:00 the excursion (which according to the description would take 5 hours) was over. In summary; nice that we saw the bears, but for €99.00 per person you expect to walk a little more than ten minutes to a lonely, cold lookout with a double sandwich, some yogurt and instant coffee

The meal before we left was incredible (just like my Finnish grandma used to make). We received our safety briefing and then went to the viewing site. The first bear came into view within five minutes. We ultimately saw four bears, two quite close up. The evening ended with an appearance by the local wolverine. The entire experience was wonderful and well worth the price.
