Learn to ski cross-country skiing and admire beautiful landscapes with a local guide. Spend a nice day or half exploring the nature! This trip is suitable for beginners as the guide will make a skiing lesson first. You will learn traditional cross-country skiing and you will have a chance to try skate skiing if you like. This trip is a great opportunity to take nature pictures and with some luck you may also see footprints of wild animals or even animals themselves. You may try sliding on even surface as well as downslopes. Warm beverages and snacks are offered during this trip. Great fun for all! Two starts a day: At 10 AM and 2 PM for half-day trip. Full Day Trip is 5,5 hours, starts at 10AM. Snacks and warm beverages are offered during this tour. All day trip includes lunch, too.

Family trip and loved the Santa village trip
Really an amazing experience trip to the Santa village, no rush of course as off season so get to meet Santa and have a nice chat with him. Crossed the artic circle line and got a certificate on it. Utsav from lapland tours was a great guide and enjoyed the morning to afternoon excursion. Recomment it highly. Send a post card, bought some circular playing cards from the Santa's post office.

        Frauds
This company and owner are FRAUDS. It’s more than a month since we took this tour and are back to Dubai also. I have been following up since 11th March every single day since two weeks asking them to share the pictures that were taken on their DSLR. 1st they said that the pictures have come blurry. Then they share some of their existing pictures which are already posted on Instagram. Then the they sent some other groups pictures. Trip advisor has awarded them some most photogenic award. I think you should review it and take back the award. ITS the WORST Tour company in Roveniemi LAP - T64275081 BR-1113126025

Just because it’s cheap doesn’t mean it’s good
I wish I had read all the reviews before making this booking. All the bad reviews are true . They are not worth it . They will say it’s a small tour but in actual they will stuff a lot of people on 2 buses and take you a lane owned by company . Which is bit further away from North hence reduced the chance of seeing lights . . Made no effort whatsoever to chase the lights or to time it properly . There were brilliant lights around that time and all other tours saw them and we were unlucky and got stuck with them .

        Snow mobile tour adventure
10/10.. excellent guide. Very particular about safety and gave clear instructions on that aspect. We were two couples and I had my young daughter 9 years old on the tour. She was made comfortable on the sledge. We were offered comfortable and appropriate clothing to make the whole tour cold friendly. Enjoyed the whole ride as both got to try our hand on snow mobile. Through the wilderness and beautiful surroundings, one must experience!!! Finished off with a camp fire and comfort food.

        Incredible night
Weather in Rovaniemi was extremely cloudy and snowing. We decided anyway to proceed without any hope. Our guide Shoja studied weather condition using many satellite images and found a location suitable to catch northern lights. After 2.5 hours driving under the clouds we found ourself in the middle of nowhere under an incredible sky full of stars, and suddenly northern lights appeared in front of us. Shoja is a professional photograph and made amazing pictures of all of us. Thanks again Lapland Welcome for this amazing experience

        'it is forbidden by law'
We booked the longest tour 'further into the wilderness' which requires participants to have snowmobiling driving experience. Although we would give our guide four stars for trying really hard to make us happy in any way he could. Still the review has only two stars, because just after the right the start after driving with the green key for a bit (which has a speed limiter and is normal practice also at the other companies to evaluate driving skills) we were told that although we were good drivers that tourists can only drive with the green key as it 'is forbidden by law' to let them drive with the grey key. Actually we did only see less than half of the 'further into the wilderness' compared to the tours we had done before (since we liked it so much, this was our third full day snowmobiling) and the guides quickly changed keys. Since they claim that it is forbidden by law for tourists to drive normal speed we would recommend to check carefully before booking with them or go somewhere else if speed >30km/hr is your thing. Anything else is just fine, good clothing provided, helpful guide, etc.

Pleasant tour with a very friendly guide
We booked this activity ad hoc as we wanted to take advantage of the good weather and hoped to see aurora. Our guide Kamila met us in the office and took care of us as well as other participants. She then drove us to quite remote place outside Rovaniemi, making a few stops on the way and checking for auroras. we then arrived to a place with tepee where Kamila made fire and we were had some barbeque (vegetarian option was available for us). We loved hot blueberry juice. Unfortunately we were not lucky to see aurora but Kamila looked after us very well and did everything to make our time as pleasant as possible.

        Highly recommended!!
My friend and I joined this Aurora-Northern Lighs Trip Photographing Tour on 17th February 2024. We were so lucky we were able to see and witness the spectacular and magical Aurora Borealis! Thank you very much! Our tour guide Aneeq was very nice and accommodating. He made sure that we keep warm and provided our snacks. We had the best hot blueberry juice ever! He’s also very knowledgeable, gave us infos about the tour. If ever we’d come back to Rovaniemi, I’d definitely book tours with you again! I even told my friends about Lapland Welcome, if they would go to Rovaniemi. Excellent!!! 👍👍👍👍👍

Fantastic Hotel in an Amazing setting
The hotel looks exceptional and it truly is a unique experience. We arrived in the afternoon & reception holds onto your luggage. As day visitors will be walking through the rooms to see the various cultures you don't take your belongings there until you are ready to sleep. At that point everything is stored in a nearby warm locker area. The grounds around are fantastic. It starts with some young reindeer to feed, then a series of ice art installations, & a frozen lake where you can ride snowmobiles, or go hiking. We booked that Sauna package, which although it seemed pricey at the time turned out to easily be worth the money. It starts with a traditional Finnish sauna, followed by the steam rooms that are formed entirely of ice, before retiring to a private hot tub in a snowy area. The is perfectly matched with a bottle of champagne! The Ice Bar seemed like a novelty for people visiting for a few hours, but I would 100% recommend the Ice restaurant if you are staying or have time to dine. Normally at themed hotels you temper expectations on quality, but the dishes we were served were outstanding, plus we were dining in a very unique setting! Aftwerwards the Kota bar is a warm area where you can pass the night looking out, beside a warm open fire. We stayed in one of the inside ice rooms and it was as COLD as you'd expect! The staff provide you with everything you need to stay warm during the night which works perfectly, you just do not want to too exposed outside your sleeping bags.

magic night watching the aurora in the forest
Our guide, Maris, took us out for a private tour to watch the northern lights. we had a nice evening around the fire in the private cabin in the first, with barbecue and hot blueberry juice, and then the aurora started. it was a magical night that we will never forget.

Avoid this company at all costs
What an adventure. This tourist trap is all talk but no results. People have seen more Northern light in the santa clause village that day than your poorly situated location. Winning an award 4 years ago doesnt mean anything today… your standards you are claiming to be the best didn’t show itself on our journey. These people claim to be professionals who also claims that they would explain anything about the stars and other topics that are related to the northern lights. However, all we got is a little explanation of reindeers and ear cut markings and how happy the Finnish people are in this country. What a complete joke this organisation. We understand that the Aurora is a natural phenomenon but we were suppose to go hunting for it and move up North? We went more south straying away from the light, going to a place that is owned by the company. How is this “chasing” and “hunting” the light? Complete scam I would say. Also, the guide we got assigned to was also a mute and stayed complete silent about the trip. He didn’t state what the plan was and suddenly we were in the middle of nowhere telling us to get out. We had the impressing that he was about to do something to us. No actual storytelling or explanation. We had to ask what the actual plan was. In the end, we wasted 100 euros no refund for some cheap chicken nuggets - hotdogs, blue berry syrop juice and 5 hours of our time. These so called professionals should atleast have some forecast and add a partial refund or anything. We also got a “professional” photoshoot with no aurora in the back, making it seem like this is some sort of consolation price. So sad.

        Hampered by poor organisation.
Guides do a good job but organisation is poor. Changes in timing of activities are not advised in advance, we had some start hours later than we were advised and others an hour or two early. The activities are good, although they are sometimes hampered by poor or wrong equipment being supplied. Guides do a good job to make things work as well as possible.

Our family of 4 signed up for the 3 hour cross country skiing program. It was just us on the trip and the guide assigned to us was an Asian student on an exchange program. The trail was at the Ounasvaara Sports centre, very scenic and beautiful. The guide, however, was not skilled in skiing. He taught us the basic theory of cross country skiing, but was not able to demonstrate. Half the time he was behind us and on his phone. When I asked him to teach my teenage child free style skiing, he said he has not learned that yet. The adults in our group were practically walking with the skis, but the guide did nothing to correct us. He just trudged behind our group. When I asked him to go in front of us so we can see him ski and learn from him, he walked in front for a few minutes and fell back behind to trudge along again.

When I gave the feedback to Lapland Welcome office at the end of the tour, they just said sorry and that the guide was an exchange student and still a trainee.

I feel we will have a different and better experience with an experienced guide. Lapland Welcome should not expect customers to pay good money for sub-par service.

I will not go back to them and do not recommend this service provider.

Thank you for your feedback. Our young skiing guide that day was Yanling. He has studied for winter sport instructor in Finland for 2 years and he was on obligatory training here with us. He reported that you had asked him teaching skiing by skating style. It is unfortunately impossible without special arrangements as we normally organise skiing by traditional way. For skating sking you would need different skis what we don't offer without special order. This is the reason why he couldn't teach you skiing by skating style. Another point is that instead of exhausting skiing we offer nature trips on skis. We enjoy the nature without hurry and try traditional skiing which is rather easy to learn. Welcome!

      Great skiing with Cristina!
It was well organized and Cristina minded our safety during the activity. She is a good instructor and a guide, and we appreciate the random tips she gives us about the city. Recommended!
