- andrearG2043HB00Very bad customer serviceVery bad customer service.Booking was done 4 months in advance and had to be cancelled - only 90% refund (booking was fully paid 4 months in advance!!!). Extremely disappointing service
- 946h_l_nam00Amazing experience !We are in Lapland for 1 week and we book all our activities with Lapland Welcome. We done already 2 of them : husky safari and snowmobile driving and I had to say that we never had guide tours as wonderful as them. It’s like private experience and not with a huge group. Guides are really kind and careful. They pick you at the hotel and then arrange everything. You just have to relax and enjoy. For snowmobile we were during 4 hours only 3: my husband, the guide and me. We could appreciate all the tour. It was an amazing experience and I really recommend this company ! Thank a lot to them for that!
- mathild3_c00Great experienceGreat experience ! It was very fun to explore the forest with snowshoes and the barbecue was huge and excellent. I highly recommend it. I particularly thank our guide, Utsav, for this moment :)
- 128umesha00Adventure with SafetyThe team ensures your safety by providing essential clothing, shoes and attire.. For first timers a little more training before setting off could help.. The landscape... Tundra...is amazing... A must for all...
- wendyrP4710TN00The best part of our trip!We went on two tours with this company, the snowmobiling and the aurora tour. They were both the highlights of the trip! Maris took us out for both excursions and we all couldn't stop talking about how wonderful he was. It felt more like we were out exploring with a friend than in a customer service setting. He provided us with much knowledge about Finland and the auora, and even read our fortunes for the new year! For much of the night there were no lights in the sky but sitting around the fire cooking food with Maris was a special treat in and of itself. He was very attentive to our ever need and made efforts to continually check in with us individually to make sure we were okay. We will never forget Maris!
- rothandrea00Shocking service! It is shocking!!! We have booked 4 months in advance for Jan 2023 and already paid 300€ and now the office does not know anything about the booking! Great warning to everybody!!!
- joannemH5944JW00SnowmobileExcellent guide, Maris took his time with us so we didn't feel rushed at all. Lovely BBQ. Tons of fun. Felt safe on the snowmobiles
- boram15700Nature and GemstonesWe had a great trip to the Amethyst Mine. Our guide, Irina was amazing, very friendly and reliable. After the visit at the mine we had a nice barbecue at one of the typical finnish lavvu in front of a beautiful lake. Would highly recommend :)
- Dream72964800Different from what you can do in RovaniemiBeautiful trip in the forest north of Kemi. We crossed a lake twice, which allowed for a hint of speed as cherry on the cake. Very nice, attentionate and welcoming guide, respectful of the amazing nature around us - and of life in general. Well-kept snowmobiles and gear; we felt safe. 100% will do it again. 100% true to the advertising.
- SovakarN100helpPlease guide and suggest a family trip in early June 2023 for 14-20 days to Finland, Sweden, and Norway. Need the most scenic and memorable trip guide. Thanking you
- FarzanCDamania00Exceptional serviceIt was a magical experience meeting Santa and crossing the Arctic Circle. The best part of it was our guide, Reetta. She is an amazing human being. She's very friendly and a genuine soul. She definitely added to the wonderful experience we had. It was like touring the magical land with a kind fairy.
- tinaz60500Amazing hikeIt was one of the most beautiful drives and hikes I’ve ever had, the scenery was surreal. Our guide Gordy (from Barcelona) was super friendly and gave us great care and attention the whole way. I would do this trip again and again. Thank you Lapland Welcome for this wonderful experience!
- dalopinto00Great addventur in wildthis tour was a beautiful experience, and luckily we saw the northern lights , even if not 100% perfect. the guide David, and his colleague were good in the instructions, in guiding us through the forest and the frozen lake. it takes energy, and a bit of strength to drive the snowmobile, but it is an experience that I recommend.we started on time, after having the thermal clothes. and in reality the tour lasted longer than expected. excellent organization of the staff...we started on time, after having the thermal clothes.and actually the tour lasted longer than expected.excellent organization of the staff.congratulations
- vak020800Absolutely top from start to fin(n)ish!Absolute top!!! The biggest thank you to Nico our guide who made our stay in Lapland even better!! Did two tours because of our great guy and were both times just the two of us with him! Absolute top organisation and we will be back for sure!! If in Lapland book with them!!
- kathrynmW1255VW00An amazing day! After a pick up from our hotel, our guide for the day, Reeta, took us to the main office to make sure we had all the equipment and clothing we would need for the day. We were very fortunate to be the only ones on the excursion and Reeta couldn't have looked after us better. She drove us to the nearby track and after a quick introduction we were off into the beautiful forest. We had a slight issue with ski poles which Reeta quickly addressed and put right. Reeta also checked in with us all at regular intervals as we all have different fitness levels and happily took photos and videos for us throughout the day. We stopped for lunch in the middle of the forest at a firepit where we had a huge range of food (meat and vegetarian) to try. This was accompanied by delicious hot berry juice or tea. After we were all well fed we continued on the track back to the minibus. We were a little concerned fitness wise how we would cope with a full day, but Reeta allowed us to go at our own pace and it is certainly an activity we look forward to doing again in the future. An unforgettable day with some great pictures and videos.

Joined Auroras – Northern Lights Trip by Car and on Foot (photographing tour) back in Dec 2019. As mentioned on the website it was by car but turn out to be a big tour bus for around approximately 50 pax! The tour was even overbooked as some of the people did not have a space to sit in the bus. the tour started by heading over to their office at Rovaniemi city center for a change in clothes. It was so chaotic as it was such a big group. No clear instruction was provided. Wasted lots of time too.
When we reached the base camp, we wasted time again by unloading our existing stuff down from the bus. Everyone was rushing to the toilet and there was only one cubical.
It was mentioned on the website that it is a “photography tour” and "We take pictures on the tour and then upload them on our blog. However, if you have a camera and/or a tripod, do not hesitate to bring them! Our guides can help you with the settings."
Firstly, do not expect the guide to take picture of you together with the northern light. The whole session the guide just kept on shooting the northern light. If we want pictures of just the northern light, there are plenty online.
Secondly, after you set up your tripod and placed if it placed slightly in front of the guide's camera view. The guide will tell you off. Shouldn't it be a photographing session whereby we should be the one shooting/ learning how to capture the northern light with our own camera. It turns out to be like we are paying to accompany the guide to chase the northern light and the guide hogged the best angle.
Been to so many tours, this tour is totally disappointing. Badly organized and unprofessional guide. Highly do not recommend!

We were sold the Northern Lights Photography Tour for New Years Eve. From the outset it was an absolute debacle. We arrived at the office to get the bus and it was chaotic. No one knew what was happening. We were given out to the location, and dropped, left with no instructions was the bus driver went inside to get himself a hot chocolate. There was no guide insight and after talking to a number of waitresses, we discovered that we could walk up the top of the hill to where everyone was. Blindly we walked up there along a duck off with no idea really where we were going. We arrived at the top which was apparently the northern lights tour that we were supposed to be on. We were sold the idea of teepees with food, fortune-telling, sledding and a guide. None of this was actually the case when we arrived at the top. There was over 200 people there and clearly they had oversold this tour. It was disorganised, there was no plan, and they certainly under-catered. There were two teepees which catered for a maximum of 50 people total. There was barely any food, all of which were supermarket bought packet food, and barely even any hot water to make a cup of tea.
By the end of the night, we had received no food, no drink whatsoever and when we walked down to get back on the bus, there was no bus for us as they had even underestimated numbers for the bus. We were left to sit around and wait for over 45 minutes with no update of what was happening, until we were finally told that our bus driver was up the hill collecting people who haven’t yet come down. It was freezing cold and we were still waiting for people who were drinking inside.
Overall it was absolutely disgusting. I wish we never bothered as the experience was actually really terrible. Do yourself a favour and find yourself one of the smaller companies who actually care for their guests. We regret that we didn’t do the same, but we hope that this review gives you that opportunity. Either way, save your money time and effort and don’t book with this company.

Thank you for your feedback about our New Year Auroras tour. In addition to normal Auroras - Northern Lights tour we had great fireworks and sparkling wine offered. Pictures of Northern Lights were shot and delivered to all participants who wanted to see them. You can still reuquest them if you were there, by email. We didn't run out of barbeque food or drinks, maybe just temporarily but not totally. We also offered shaman program in the 3rd teepee down by the river. New Year's Eve is very popular day here, the peak day in a year. People were allowed to walk around and visit different service points like warm indoor hall, washing rooms, shaman teepee, snow igloos, barbeque teepees, sparkling wine delivery, photographing spot and fireworks at midnight. I am sorry if you have felt lost there. In our mind all went like planned, nothing went wrong. It was just many people there but is a very spacy area. And we are sorry that it was hard to get the last people into the buses. We couldn't leave people there. We did have transfer planned for everyone. Many people shouted "Bravo" for the long lasting colourfull fireworks. But Mother Nature didn't show us the best Northern Lights but something at least in the pictures. It is out of our control. Happy New Year!

We (2 adults) had an excellent experience with this company! The seasoned tour guide provided us with snow boots and flashlights and, if we hadn't already been wearing warm winter clothes, he could have also helped us out in that department.
Once the tour proper started, the guide entertained us with funny anecdotes as well as fascinating scientific explanations of the Northern Lights. The guide never lost hope (it first seemed like we wouldn't get much of a display) and expertly showed each place best suited for spotting the elusive lights.
We easily reached our final destination on top of the hill and were blown away by the Auroras that painted the starry night and lasted for a long time. From the detailed photographing instructions to the nice pictures and the warms food and drinks, this trip was an all around pleasant experience. On our way back to Rovaniemi we even spotted two fluffy mountain hares!
Nice to know: If you don't have the necessary photographing equipment, that's not an issue. The tour guide will take professional grade pictures of the Northern lights for free while you sit back and relax as mother nature shows you her most beautiful side.

It was an experience of a lifetime! My cheerful tour guide, Anthony, was on time as we started at 10 PM from Rovaniemi. We drove to a base camp about 55 km from the Rovaniemi city center, and then climbed a hill called Kätkävaara with another assistant Ella.
The night was clear and moonless, so conditions for aurora-watching were great. Sure enough, a long pale green arc right across the star-filled sky could be seen, though it remained like this for a very long time without changing. Anthony explained in detail how the aurora is formed, and patiently answered all my questions :) Despite the cold and lack of action, he waited, and finally our patience were rewarded as we were able to see a quite bright display of flickering as 2 separate arcs seemed to form. A moment to remember! We then went inside a small 'cabin' on the hill, and had sausages and hot chocolate sitting around a fire Anthony and Ella lit earlier.
Later I learnt I was quite lucky, as the aurora prediction for that night was quite bleak!
Aurora viewing needs luck, but that does not change the service provided by Anthony of Lapland Welcome, which was simply fantastic. Such warm behavior made withstanding the cold while waiting for the aurora display not only tolerable, but also enjoyable! The photography was Anthony was also brilliant!!
Thank you, Lapland Welcome!

Booked last minute and was one of the few tours still available. Got confirmation to meet at 19:20 for an 20:00 start, which seemed a little early. We didn’t actually go outside to the coach until 20:20, we were left waiting outside the coach with no tour leader. I went inside and the staff were just as confused. Another 20 minutes of waiting, there were too many people to fit on the coach (which was already a red flag, as the huge coach felt very impersonal), so some people had to be taken by taxi. At the destination we all had to cram into two tiny huts, where again waited without direction. Someone came in after an hour and asked if we had been served our ‘traditional BBQ’, we hadn’t, but then got told there weren’t enough sausages for everyone. I managed to get one, along with a dry bun, and that was it. No lights, but they still offered to take photos of us in the night sky, but the tour guide could work the camera as it had ‘frozen’ and all the photos were blurry… surely these are common weather conditions? So our northern lights photography tour with BBQ didn’t have any photography, nor a real BBQ. Avoid this tour company.

Thank you for the review. We have there warm bathrooms and several teepees for barbeque. The location is perfect and the best in Rovaniemi area. These peak season days can be crowded as so many people weant to see the lights and often they are visible only on our site.

We would like to express our thanks to both guides Anthony and Eriky for their professionalism displayed during our aurora hunting last night. Anthony tried his best to help us catch the Northern lights
Although we did not managed to catch the Northern Light last night, we really had a wonderful experience understanding the information you shared.
thanks Anthony for also sharing the positive finnish culture with us as well. It was really nice. And also wanted to thank the helpful assistant Eriky who was very busy catering us that he had no time for his own feeding. As we were totally tired and eager to rush back to the bus we did not managed to say a thank to both of you in person. So hereby once again thank you guys for the hard work. You certainty amazing! 😊 Will definitely recommend this safari to friends who are intereated., 👍🏻

Terrible tour. Lack of customer service. The tour guide never said hello when picking us up and rudely said “get out” when we arrived at the offices. There was just a friendly guy who greeted us and gave us the equipment (a Colombian named Andres) but unfortunately went with a private tour.
Our group was very big, about +30 people, some of them very noisy and rude (This was not the fault of the company but if the guide had given a briefing and some rules to follow such as the importance of being at a natural site and not littering) this could have been better managed.
Additionally, the guide didn’t introduce himself, or explained anything at all about the northern lights. We didn’t get to see them, but that is understandable given that is a natural phenomenon.
You can’t predict nature but a company can definitely improve its customer service.
Not recommended at all!

My wife and I went to Rovaniemi for three nights to see the Aurora.
The first night the sky was cloudy, the second night we try to do it alone (without lucky) and for the third, and last, night we decided to buy the tickets for this tour with lapland welcome.
Camilla came with the car in our hotel to take us, and she brought us in a special place, kilometers far from Rovaniemi, in total darkness.
We started to see the Aurora during the road trip, and Camilla was so kindly to stop in the middle of the road to take pictures of us with the Aurora.
Then we arrived in a tepee and Camilla turned on a fire and we had a fantastic night looking at the Aurora and having fun and bbq around the fire.
Thanks Camilla for this fantastic experience and to have made our dream comes true!

We (2 adults and 3 children) had a wonderful time.
Our Northern Lights guide, She was excellent and knew exactly where to take us for the trip. We had so much fun.
It was really great time!!
I would highly recommend this tour company to everyone.
Thank you so much.
Best Regards

Aurora borealis (Northern Light) hunting. I would say that this tour staff and guide are fantastic. Quick response and superb active, excellent guidance. I really enjoyed the trip and turn out a magical show. I would recommend strongly going with them and you will enjoy it!!
