- G601YSemmam0 contributionsBest trip everWe stayed at the Vaattunki Wilderness resort in the Panorama Huts which was lovely and warm. The staff were all soo kind and helpful. They helped us to book a taxi and kept us up to date on the status of the Northern lights. The food was made fresh every day and it was delicious. Every day you could choose between a meat, fish or vegetarian option with a selection of salads and soup. All the activities were arranged via Safartica. All the staff were also soo kind and helpful. There was a daily shuttle bus from the resort to Santa Claus village and the town centre. We did the snowmobile safari to the reindeer farm, which was fantastic. We also got to feed the reindeers. Everyone was also so knowledgeable. The husky safari was also a must do and you got to cuddle with the dogs afterwards. The northern lights search by snowshoes is a work-out and harder than we thought, but also a must do. On the last day we had the Lappish Kota diner and we never had better salmon than that. The food was traditionally cooked in a Kota and a must do for your last day in Rovaniemi, but do remember that there is no central heating so put your suit from Safartica on. It was also nice that you did not need to hand in the suit for every activity but we got to keep our suit for the week and could hand them in at the resort at the end of our trip. This was definitely a trip to remember and the staff made it extra special and made the experience even greater.Written May 30, 2024
- Flyer407359915450 contributionsBrilliant evening SnowmobilingWe had an amazing time snowmobiling and Jenni was the best instructor and tour guide we had on our entire holiday. Loved the stop over break by the fire to enjoy some traditional finish food before driving back in the dark.Written April 15, 2024
- advaitt20230 contributionsAwe inspiring auroras! It was an amazing experience, absolutely splendid to see the lights dance across the sky. The guides were very helpful and friendly. They took us to a location with very little light pollution where we had a clear, cloudless view of the sky. Thank you safartica for the superb experience!Written April 10, 2024
- kamillarenatad0 contributionsEaster in RovaniemiI took part of an Italian group. We have spent the Easter holidays in Rovaniemi. We had an italian speaking guide, Isabella. She was really a great guide, very kind and well-informed about every issue regards to Rovaniemi and about northern lights. She talked us about a lot of interesting things. I really enjoyed the programs we had.Written April 4, 2024
- 665federicam0 contributionsUnforgettable day in the depth of the artic forestThis was one of the best experiences we had during our stay in Lapland. Boris, our guide, was extremely polite and so knowledgeable, he knows the area so well and we got to drive through some amazing spots. Everything was just perfect: our guide, our small group, the weather (we had snow which was amazing), the landscape and the ride itself! It's really full day and you are really able to make the most of snowmobiling as the tour covers lots of distance. We totally recommend doing this experience if you are looking for snowmobile tours in Rovaniemi. Thank you sooo much Boris for an unforgettable day of fun and beauty!Written April 3, 2024
- M1198KFbeatrizv0 contributionsAwesome! We did the snowmobile tour and it was awesome!!! Our guide Joaquin drove us to a lot of beautiful places and took care of us during the activity. We would repeat this experience hundreds of timesWritten March 31, 2024

- Roving648859395720 contributionsReally fun snowmobil tripSuper Fun. We dad perfect weather. No rain, No clouds. fresh snow. Perfect conditions for driving. The guides used that opportunity and we had a blast, driving on the frozen river and throug a forrest. The english was super easy to understand.Written March 23, 2024
- 703siemv0 contributionsA reliable company with great serviceWent on multiple excursions in the Rovaniemi and Ylläs area with Safarica in the past week, the team on each of them felt like a well oiled machine. The most impressive part, was the collective number of languages spoken by the guides. I was especially blown away by the girl with the blond & brown hair speaking 4 languages pretty much fluently.Written March 22, 2024
- 618abhib0 contributionsGreat overall Experience! Were able to capture the Auroras! The tour was really good. We were able to spot the aurora at the 2 locations the guide took us. The guide was good and took us to great viewing spots, as well as captured good photos. Overall happy with the experience and will recommend to take the tour at least once when in Lapland!Written March 20, 2024
- SURFINGMADZIA0 contributionsBest of the best! Snowmobile activity for bucket list.Snowmobile safari was on my husband bucket list and we reviewed carfully each and every company before deciding for Safartica tour combining not one exciting attraction but 3 (ride + hotel + dinner). But from beginning. We were picked from Santa Clause village and taken to the Rovaniemi city center office. We collected our equipment, bought extra insurance (think it was good to have), walked to the river side where we got proper instructions from our guide Hugo. We were in a group of 9 (5 snowmobiles) which was really good size (maybe we were lucky). We drove to the hotel with max speed of 40km/h. Snow hotel is a unique place. I really did not think it would impress me that much. Lappish dinner in Kota was another special experience. Salmon portions were good size and soo tasty. On the way back we were allowed to drive 70km/h. Summarising only positive feedback: + guide Hugo 11/10 - knowledgable and friendly + total 80km ride 9/10 - snow conditions made it a bit bumpy ride (should not blame organisers about weather conditions, it was beatuful sunny day) + snow hotel 10/10 - suprisingly exciting attraction + lappish dinner in Kota 11/10 yammy + nice and well organised group 10/10 Thank you Hugo and Safartica!Written March 18, 2024
- Fly-Wills0 contributionsAmazing company to book through. Would highly recommendHighly recommend the company for any bookings during your stay in Rovianemi. Extremely friendly and professional. All equipment provided including snow suits, boots, gloves, socks etc. Office is conveniently located in the centre of Rovianemi city. Transport to the excursion is comfortable, clean and spacious. We used Safartica for our Buba Huskey visit and our Safartica rep was great! She provided knowledge on the way about the city, the dogs and what to expect and was there to answer any questions we had. We highly recommend Safartica for any excursions bookings.Written March 16, 2024
- 766braydanc0 contributionsA mystical experienceHaving never been to a place quite as cold as Rovaniemi, I felt quite out of place in the beginning. By the time I was gone, I was incredibly thankful to have come out of my comfort zone and created so many great memories. This was largely due to having an enthusiastic and skillful guide named Noa. He had a great sense of humour and made sure to maximise our fun whilst prioritising our safety too. Despite the clouds covering the sky during my visit, I would definitely recommend going to Rovaniemi and looking at the beautiful snow forest on a snowmobile, going ice bathing, and much more. Hopefully you get a guide as good as ours!Written March 15, 2024
- Jain7420 contributionsNo Lights: Good TryVery well done. Seeking the Aurora, the bus (comfy and large) went to several locations seeking lights. While we didn't see any Northern Lights, the staff were helpful, tried hard to find good spots, and were careful with the customers. Nothing you can do about clouds, but this group did its best. Would go back with them -- if the weather was cooperating.Written March 14, 2024
- Relax160077728430 contributionsSnowmobile tour in RovaniemiVenturing into the snowy landscapes of Rovaniemi, I embarked on an exhilarating snowmobile tour guided by Mr Alejandro. His extensive experience in snowmobiling was evident as he briefed us on safety protocols, ensuring that each participant felt confident and prepared for the upcoming expedition. . Their adeptness at reading the terrain and assessing potential hazards instilled a sense of trust and security among the group, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the thrill of the adventure.Their infectious enthusiasm and good humor kept spirits high, turning even the most challenging moments into opportunities for laughter.Whether you're a seasoned snowmobiler or a first-time rider, I wholeheartedly recommend embarking on a tour with Alejandro for an experience that promises excitement, enlightenment, and lasting memories.Written March 8, 2024

Was ok, like others they borrow you overalls which are very warm. First time on snowmobile, steering was tricky but i learned from other tour that if this is the case most like cheap made snowmobile as the weight only is in front and not spread till the end. It was true as we done 3 tours in kittila and were much better and easier. It was fun as it was our 1st ride. Went fishing no catch 🤣. Martin and timothy were really great, especially Martin 😁Oh i forgot they cooked reindeer soup, and provided hot cranberry juice in which its their custom.

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to leave the review! Great you enjoyed the company of our guides and the experience overall :)
As for snowmobiles, we use Lynx Adventure or Xtrim models, which are, subjectively, the best touring snowmobiles in the industry. Plus, they are locally manufactured. Of course brands and models are matters of personal preference, but either way these machines are some of the best in class. Snow conditions that can change even during one day, as well as track conditions play a huge role in how the steering feels. Driver's experience and physical shape is another factor. What is possible, if it was a very busy day, you drove some of a bit older snowmobiles. Snowmobiling takes some time to get used to, so it's totally normal that your first time felt somewhat difficult ;)
Cheers from Lapland

We had originally booked all of our activities through our resort which then closed earlier than our intended arrival so we had to redo all of our bookings. Our new accommodation (Glass Resort) had Safartica as a recommended tour operator and because they were open when other providers had stopped operating in early April we booked almost all our things through them and I’m very happy with that decision so far. The included gear is a huge plus: snow boots, wool over-socks, snow jumpsuit, leather mittens, balaclava, and helmet. It’s truly everything you need and they were able to fit everyone well and fast and everything was clean. We had a small group of 6 and everyone had a wonderful time. The included lunch with tea, soup, flatbread, cookies, and coffee was largely prepared fresh for us in the Kota and was filling and delicious. It’s a great balance of activity and leisure. The directions were always clear and we never felt rushed. Thank you Martin and Safartica for a perfect day. We can’t wait to come back.

Thank you so much for your time to leave this kind review. So great to hear that you had wonderful time with us and enjoyed the experience. Beginning of April is often the best time here with longer days, not very cold weather, yet usually still with a lot of snow to do all winter fun activities. Happy you joined us (it was meant to be) and hope to see you back again

My family and I took the 5 hour snow mobile and ice fishing tour and lunch with MARTIN. First off, Martin was nothing short of amazing! He was kind and funny and did his absolute best to make sure our kiddos had the best experience. We were extremely lucky and were the only ones to book the tour that day, so we had a private tour, making the day even more special.
The views while snow mobiling down the river and through the forest were exceptional.
The ice fishing was a fun and informative activity. We weren’t lucky in catching anything, but it didn’t take away from the fun at all.
We then took the snow mobiles to a quaint cottage in the woods where Martin started a fire and cooked soup, sausages and bread for lunch. It was a nice warm break and provided more time to learn about Finland from our amazing guide.
Martin told great stories and even gave us better recommendations for the hike we planned to take the next day. (We took his advice and the hike was perfect!)
The tour was definitely a 5 star experience and an absolute highlight of our time in Finland! Thank you Martin!

We had an amazing snow mobile/ice fishing/ lunch tour with Tiia. She was an excellent guide. She was very knowledgeable and it was empowering as a woman to have a strong guide like this. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the this tour. It’s wonderful to snow mobile through the snow covered woods and someone in our group caught a fish! We were cooked a lovely hot soup and warm bread over an open fire for lunch. There was hot juice, coffee, and cookies as well. Plenty of snowmobile time as well. Would recommend!

I'm really happy to read about your lovely experience with Tiia. She truly is a great, professional guide!
If the fish one catches is big enough we also prepare it for you on the fire while making the sour lunch :)
Hope to have you back one day!

We took the looong snow mobile tour (75 km.) which was a bit too long in arctic temperatures. Our guide, Martin was very friendly and professional. The instructions and information was adequate. The ride was through the forests and across the lakes. Ice fishing part was a bit weak but we hardly cared. The lunch was reindeer soup that Martin cooked for us in a small cabin. Overall a nice adventure that is carefully designed and expertly executed.

Dear Tekirova,
Thank you for your feedback. I will let our guide, Martin, know about your appreciation of his professionalism and of his cooking skills ;)
Thank you again and we hope to see you again. Hope you had a nice and say trip back home.

Very touristy, extremely large group meaning you have to stop frequently for snowmobilers who get stuck or veer off the path. The “ice fishing” seemed like a time kill and the food included was poor quality. The whole tour seemed to have little thought put into it (which should have been a minimum ~2 hours shorter).

Thank you for taking time to leave the review! We appreciate it even though I'm sad to hear you weren't too happy about the program. It would be helpful to know when you did the activity, so I could get more details on it.
Depending on the season, the group size may vary a lot and we split groups if they get too big, yet there is always an option to do a safari privately. December is obviously a very busy time, so if you want to have less people around, springtime is a way to go.
This is a relatively beginner-friendly safari (for driving) and everyone has different skills and physical shape, so of course our guides don't leave anyone behind and generally wait for the slowest in the group for safety reasons as you understand.
That is why we have a wide range of different safaris to chose from: if you want a bit more advanced driving and not interested that much in ice fishing - there is a full day snowmobiling, quick spin and now also some new activities we made for the upcoming season.
What comes to the outdoor lunch, it's actually the first time I hear someone being disappointed about it. Food made in the wilderness on the fire is an experience on its own and usually we get super positive feedback about it.
I hope you got to enjoy your stay in Lapland nonetheless, and hope to see you back some day!
All the best,
Mikhail, Safartica

It was our second snowmobile trip, this time with Mikael and his co-worker (forgot huis name). Beautifull trip through the forest, between the snowy trees and across lakes. We learned about icefishing: how to drill the hole and how to fish and Vught a little fish! At the cabin the guys prepared a nice lappish soup and good coffee, after which we had to return. It is a really nice trip to take!

This was such a great experience. We have never taken our 9 year old fishing, so for him to have ICE fishing as his first experience was awesome. The reindeer soup was spectacular and the guides were superb. We felt very safe and excited!
