- C3062WHadriann0 contributionsFantastic experience for all the familyA really well organised experience for the family, picked up on time and taken first to a Reindeer Farm in the middle of the Finnish forests, met and greeted by our local guide and explained the itinerary. We then had a sleigh ride through the forest before feeding the reindeer. Children loved every minute. Following the experience we then heading in for a hot drink and biscuit whilst being told information about the reindeer and how they are managed and looked after. Once this ended we were then taken back to Santas Village where we had our husky experience, we were taken straight to the sledges and were straight into our ride (no waiting) the kids loved this, Even taking what they learnt and pretending they were huskies mushers. Following our ride through the forests we then headed back for a talk from one of the handlers who was very informative and engaging. Here we got a warm drink around an open fire. After this to end we were then left to explore and meet the huskies at our leisure. The kids loved being able to pet some of the dogs and meet them close up. It was a great experience and one I would definitely recommend. Special mention for our guide Alex who was always willing to chat and offer his knowledge not only about our tour but others too, including places to go and see the northern lights etc. Children aged 5 & 9 and were engaged and excited throughout.Written December 11, 2024
- elizabethaE2317YV0 contributionsBucket list item - ticked off! What a cool experience. It was awesome to get to experience a husky sled ride, learn about the dogs, and of course - to give them a pat after! Our ride was about 10 mins long and went across a section of frozen lake, which was fantastic and very beautiful. Once we finished our ride we went into a traditional tent to ask questions around a fire - of course with hot blueberry juice and gingerbread biscuits. We were picked up from our hotel, and had the option of being dropped off at Santa's Village after or in the city/hotel. Our tour guide, Alex, was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable - and knows how to take a good picture of your group too!Written December 11, 2024
- elizabethaE2317YV0 contributionsAn absolutely wonderful afternoon!Wow what a fantastic afternoon! Wonderful to have a sleigh ride with the sun setting, and to be able to feed them! We got to learn about the reindeers in a cosy hut with a warm drink and biscuits. Our guide, Alex, was wonderfully helpful and friendly and made sure we had a great experience.Written December 11, 2024

- Getaway239707182220 contributionsReindeer fame is fantastic, but can arrange betterThe guide was on time. Reindeer farm is only ~15-min drive from Rovaniemi city centre. The tour in the reindeer farm is informative and we learnt some interesting facts about reindeer. We had a fun ride with reindeer. It was not fast so we can took amazing pictures. the staff helped us to take fantastic pictures too. after the ride, we could feed the reindeers and took pictures at a close distance with them. We then had blue berry tea and biscuits in a warm house. It was amazing. Unfortunately, the husky part was not very good. We were told that because of the weather, we had to go to a husky farm which is further away. But we didn’t expect it was that FAR. We took almost another 2 -hour drive to the husky farm, for a only 3-min husky ride. the tour supposed to last from 9:30 to 12:30, but we only arrived the husky farm at 12:30. Luckily , there is a tasty restaurant so we could still grab something to eat before we took another 2-hour drive back to Rovaniemi. I didn’t know if is because too late and hence there is no one introducing the huskies. After a 3-min husky ride and the quick lunch, we didn’t spend more time in the husky farm and we had to go back Rovaniemi. We finally arrived Robaniemi at 16:00, which is 3.5 hr late compared with original schedule time, which greatly affect our subsequent scheduled activities. I guess this is an isolated unfortunate event to go to another husky park which is far away. But I guess the staff could tell me earlier that the event would require 3.5hr more, instead of just telling me “the husky part is a bit further away and the tour will take longer” .Written December 2, 2024
- valg4660 contributionsSuper experience well organisedThe reindeer farm is amazing and they look after the deer to well. We got hot drinks and coffee after the ride. Then on to the husky farm which was very enjoyable. More coffee after that! V well organised- would thoroughly recommend it.Written December 1, 2024
- Nupeys0 contributionsMagical experienceThis was an amazing experience! They were incredibly well set up with loan outer jumpsuits, wool socks and boots to make sure we were very comfortable as it was -13 degrees! The reindeer herder was very knowledgeable and the animals looked to be very content and in healthy condition. We were seated one per sleigh and on a skin to keep warm and rug over our laps. We set off through the forest for well over 40 minutes with the reindeer taking their time. At one point the lead reindeer stopped to have a good dog at the ground as he’d smelt something delicious. He wasn’t hurried along but given a few minutes to enjoy before he chose to move on. After the ride we were able to feed them moss and then we were treated to a hot drink and cake while more of the animals was explained to us in a log cabin with crackling fire. Wouldn’t have missed this for the worldWritten November 30, 2024
- Roam4543710 contributionsAbsolutely shocking & unsafeWe booked our husky ride trip which got cancelled a day before. We then got put on another husky trip which was nothing like what we had originally Booked. We had to drive our own sledge with very young children. No safety garments such as helmets provided. A rushed 5 minute explanation on how to manoeuvre sledge. It wasn’t adequate, Resulting in my sledge turning over and crashing with 2 young children in it & myself sustaining broken ribs. A total rip off for the amount of time we had here. Do not book this trip!!Written November 29, 2024
- Lesley A0 contributionsMagical adventureGroup of 5 ladies fantastic day out, from start to finish everything ran smoothly . - NorthStar436217106470 contributionsDon’t waste your moneyNot worth the money 3 reindeers on slippy ice Talk was informative probably the best part No snow this couldn’t be helped but really this company should have cancelled it was dangerously slippy on the steps esp for young childrenWritten November 18, 2024
- Tracey B0 contributionsExcellent guide who was knowledgable and funny at the raindeer farm. Beautiful setting. The huskies were lovely to meet and feedExcellent visit to raindeer farm. Very knowledable and friendly. They are well looked after and have acres of space. The huskies at Santa Claus village were friendly and it was amazing to pet them however I felt a little sorry for them pulling carts on gravel instead of snow. Im sure they are well kept but it didn't fit right with me.Written November 18, 2024
- crystal k0 contributionsReideer slwdge in the wild forestWonderful magnificent experience , Enjoy the sledge ride in the wild forest n on the lake. We did the Northern Lights Snowmobile safari on 20th January 2019. They picked us up from our hotel in Rovaniemi on time and took us to the venue where we changed into the appropriate clothing to keep us safe and warm. I will be honest, I was not looking forward to this trip at all as I was terrified of going on a snowmobile but my partner really wanted to do it.
We shared a snowmobile, my partner drove and I was the passenger as I didn't want to drive. It turned out not to be very busy and it was just myself and my partner with our own guide on a snowmobile in front. This was great for us. Our guide ( I think his name was Franz) took us to our snowmobile and showed us how to use it as we had never been on one before. It had heated handle bars which is good for the driver. Franz explained that accidents only happen when people get over confident and go too fast especially around corners. He also showed us hand signals to use if we needed to stop, slow down etc. As we set off I was petrified and my partner a little nervous as he hadn't driven one before. We ended up going so slow that we got stuck going round a corner as we didn't use enough power. Franz was very patient with us and explained we could go a bit faster and would be safe.
We drove for about an hour, driving through the most beautiful scenery which was simply breathtaking and over a frozen lake. I eventually began to relax as my partner got more comfortable driving the snowmobile and I just appreciated the stunning views. We stopped after about an hour and our guide built a campfire where we warmed ourselves up with a hot chocolate and warm cinnamon bun. My partner was a bit disappointed as the info we got did promise sausages over a campfire but I had emailed them as I am vegetarian so we ended up both getting a cinnamon bun instead. After warming up and the guide telling us stories about the Northern Lights ( we didn't see them that night as too cloudy) we headed off again on the snowmobile. The guide stopped to show us places of interest and it was honestly just the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. After about an hour we headed back which we were glad about as we were beginning to get cold. Our guide was worried as he thought we would be upset at not seeing the Northern Lights but we knew this was not guaranteed and were just so happy with the views and experience we had just had. Our guide Franz made this trip, he was so friendly and made me as a very nervous passenger feel safe. I ended up loving this trip and would go on a snowmobile again. I highly recommend this trip.
