- kallyns20220 contributionsExcellent TourMy hubs and I took this tour and it was definitely worth it. Carl was an informative and engaging tour guide. He was very knowledgeable, but made it fun at the same time. We saw numerous runes, learned the history of the changeover of the “old gods” to the new one, got to walk around Sigtuna and had Fika in Uppsala. It was a long day, but worth it to see areas outside of Stockholm. Highly recommend.Written November 26, 2024
- emilt9550 contributionsHighly recommend for corporate groupsWe are a Swedish event organizer that recently hosted a Japanese corporate group for a conference trip in Stockholm. Jonathan and his team at Sweden History Tours arranged a guided city tour from our conference venue in the city to a restaurant in Gamla Stan, which was originally planned for three smaller groups. At the last minute, we encountered a sudden downpour of rain. Thanks to Sweden History Tours' problem-solving skills, flexibility, and extensive network, they managed to secure a bus on short notice and completely reorganize the tour. It turned out to be a great success and truly saved the evening. A big thank you to Sweden History Tours, and we highly recommend them for corporate groups. Their planning is professional, meticulous, and impressively well-executed.Written November 25, 2024
- eshwaru20240 contributionsAmazing Experience, highly recommended.Amazing, tour guides were wonderful, the tour itself was amazing, highly recommended. The tour guides were clearly passionate about the history of the vikings and the area and the places we visited really gave us an inkling of what it would have been like to be there back in time.Written November 24, 2024

- vanessasE7900PC0 contributionsFantastic day outWe had an amazing day out, tour guide was fantastic and built the trip around our preferences. Gave us the right amount of time at each place and indulged our fascination with the snow! Would highly recommend as a day trip.Written November 24, 2024
- F3820CJjenniferc0 contributions9hour Viking TourWe had such an amazing day with Calle as our guide and a guest appearance by Jonathan. Calle was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to include our two kids (aged 8 and 10). The snow fights were just a bonus ;) would highly recommend!Written November 23, 2024
- S4961UWjamesp0 contributionsRunestone tourThe 3-4 hour tour took us to four sites, where Carl gave us a great explanation to the significance and historic meaning behind runestones and Norse way of life. Christian, who helped get us around, was able to talk about downtown Stockholm, embassy row, the university system. Both were excellent at engagement with the tour, on both an individual and group level. Will return for the longer tour!Written November 11, 2024
- AmyB60120 contributionsGreat day well spent!Olaf was amazing! We learned so much history about Sweden. He was a great driver and tour guide. Everything we wanted and hoped for!Written October 28, 2024
- johnkT8324QY0 contributionsPerfect way to spend a day outdoors in the Swedish countryside while learning stuffThis was a great day. Got to tramp through meadows looking at Viking rune stones and visit a 'thing' (a stone circle where Vikings held meetings to discuss hot-button Viking issues). Visited Sigtuna, where I had a good lunch, and then Uppsala for a tour of the cathedral. Somewhere along the way we had kippa, sort of Swedish teatime. Finally a trip to the burial mounds at Gamla. The guides Ulaf and a woman who looks like Meryl Streep whose name I can't remember right now (which is a shame because she was great), were both extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Bring water and good walking shoes. And, if you visit in October like I did, bring a warm jacket. Surprisingly, unlike my home in California, Sweden is actually quite chilly in October. If you have any interest in history or Viking culture, this is a perfect way to spend a day outdoors in the Swedish countryside while learning a lot.Written October 23, 2024
- dedetee0 contributionsUppsala and Sitguna DayWhat we saw was great and the guide was informative and friendly. The only issue was we finished an hour earlier than expected. I also expected to see more of Uppsala so this was disappointing.Written October 18, 2024
- Cally E0 contributionsOverpricedThe tour was interesting but we felt we could have accessed the attractions ourselves. Our guide was a little reserved and we had trouble hearing him from the back seat of the car.Written October 15, 2024
- marjorieb4310 contributionsFollowing the VikingsErik's indepth knowledge of the Viking runestones and overall history was what we were hoping for. We learned alot and saw the lovely country side and villages. It was a fun day.Written October 4, 2024
- Adventure401159532240 contributionsSigtuna: Oldest Town in Sweden...980ADSigtuna, is the oldest town in Sweden. It was founded by King Erik the Victorious in 980 AD. This quaint town, with it's cobblestone streets, traditional wooden houses, and beautiful scenery takes you back to medieval times, especially with the ruins of 3 Churches - St. Olofs, St Lars, and St Per's. Runestones can be found throughout the town. Sigtuna is full of restaurants, book stores, a unique candy shop, the Sigtuna Museum, a small movie theater and much more. Cinnamon Rolls is their specialty.Written September 28, 2024
