          Excellent Viking Tour
My family (including 15 year old son) just had a wonderful day tour of Broby Bro, Jarlabanki’s Bridge, Arkil’s Tingstad, Gamla Uppsala and Uppsala. The tour was made even better by our guide, Olof. Olof was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. I also appreciated how accommodating Sweden History Tours were, letting us tailor our itinerary including where we went and at what times. I would certainly recommend both Sweden History Tours and Olof to anyone interested in seeing some of Sweden’s most important Viking sights in an informative and efficient manner.

Viking history made interesting by guide Gabriel
Our tour guide was Gabriel. He was very knowledgeable at his craft. Although when we deal with history, it is usually is boring, he was able to make it somewhat interesting and entertaining, by adding question and answer, trivia, mini games, etc. That way, me and my companion, never lost interest; at the same time, we learned a thing or from him regarding viking history. Shout out to Gabriel for a job well done!

Olof’s Unique Historical Tour of Viking Origins
A great tour and Olof who managed and guided us on the tour was exceptional. The tour is very different from any standard historic tours of any other major country as it tells you about life and times of some consequential people and what they left behind which is intact even today even though the govt has kept these historic sites and monuments and stones open for public without building any guardrails around them. The small group of max 6-8 persons make it quite convenient and less tiring!

          Excellent Tour
My hubs and I took this tour and it was definitely worth it. Carl was an informative and engaging tour guide. He was very knowledgeable, but made it fun at the same time. We saw numerous runes, learned the history of the changeover of the “old gods” to the new one, got to walk around Sigtuna and had Fika in Uppsala. It was a long day, but worth it to see areas outside of Stockholm. Highly recommend.

          Highly recommend for corporate groups
We are a Swedish event organizer that recently hosted a Japanese corporate group for a conference trip in Stockholm. Jonathan and his team at Sweden History Tours arranged a guided city tour from our conference venue in the city to a restaurant in Gamla Stan, which was originally planned for three smaller groups. At the last minute, we encountered a sudden downpour of rain. Thanks to Sweden History Tours' problem-solving skills, flexibility, and extensive network, they managed to secure a bus on short notice and completely reorganize the tour. It turned out to be a great success and truly saved the evening. A big thank you to Sweden History Tours, and we highly recommend them for corporate groups. Their planning is professional, meticulous, and impressively well-executed.

          Amazing Experience, highly recommended.
Amazing, tour guides were wonderful, the tour itself was amazing, highly recommended. The tour guides were clearly passionate about the history of the vikings and the area and the places we visited really gave us an inkling of what it would have been like to be there back in time.

A great day out of Stockholm
We visited several interesting sites as described on the website. Our experience was made excellent by our guide, Calle. He was friendly and engaging and well informed. And tells a story well. We had a very good day and recommend the tour.

          Fantastic day out
We had an amazing day out, tour guide was fantastic and built the trip around our preferences. Gave us the right amount of time at each place and indulged our fascination with the snow! Would highly recommend as a day trip.

          9hour Viking Tour
We had such an amazing day with Calle as our guide and a guest appearance by Jonathan. Calle was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to include our two kids (aged 8 and 10). The snow fights were just a bonus ;) would highly recommend!

          Runestone tour
The 3-4 hour tour took us to four sites, where Carl gave us a great explanation to the significance and historic meaning behind runestones and Norse way of life. Christian, who helped get us around, was able to talk about downtown Stockholm, embassy row, the university system. Both were excellent at engagement with the tour, on both an individual and group level. Will return for the longer tour!

Perfect way to spend a day outdoors in the Swedish countryside while learning stuff
This was a great day. Got to tramp through meadows looking at Viking rune stones and visit a 'thing' (a stone circle where Vikings held meetings to discuss hot-button Viking issues). Visited Sigtuna, where I had a good lunch, and then Uppsala for a tour of the cathedral. Somewhere along the way we had kippa, sort of Swedish teatime. Finally a trip to the burial mounds at Gamla. The guides Ulaf and a woman who looks like Meryl Streep whose name I can't remember right now (which is a shame because she was great), were both extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Bring water and good walking shoes. And, if you visit in October like I did, bring a warm jacket. Surprisingly, unlike my home in California, Sweden is actually quite chilly in October. If you have any interest in history or Viking culture, this is a perfect way to spend a day outdoors in the Swedish countryside while learning a lot.

We had a fantastic time on our tour. Our guide, Gabriel, was so engaging and imparted the history of the Vikings with great energy and a depth and breadth of comprehension that was most impressive. We learned so much from him. We also had a lot of fun along the way. He went out of his way to ensure we were all comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Anyone who spends a day learning and exploring with Gabriel should consider themselves very lucky.

This tour was exactly what we needed for our day trip from Stockholm.
My husband is Swedish, so we spend a lot of time there and like to find new things to see and do each time we visit. This time we decided to combine his interest in Viking history with my love for archaeology by booking the full day private viking tour. It ended up being a great experience. Our guide Jonathan was very knowledgeable and friendly, and we had a blast exploring Uppland with him.

The guide was very knowledgeable and professional. She added lots of human interest stories. Time allowed at the stops was just the right length. The group traveled in small vans and the guide was in the other van so we did not get the advantage of information she provided during the Lind drive between stops.

The day was fantastic. The tour was so interesting - Sigtuna was such a lovely town and Uppsala was also beautiful. The owner of the company was so responsive and flexible; and our guide Gabriel was so knowledgeable and interesting and fun, we really enjoyed being with him the whole day. Gabriel knows where the best coffee and pastries and chocolates are, so listen to everything he tells you!!

The guide, Gabriel, was fantastic. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and very engaging. His commentary on what we were seeing and his discussion of the Vikings and of Swedish history were clear, informative, and entertaining. He was also very concerned to ensure we were comfortable during the tour and were seeing all we wanted to see and that he was answering all our questions about Sweden and life in Sweden.

Thanks a lot for taking your time to write down your thoughts. Happy to hear it was an enjoyable experience, and that it did encompass a lot of viking stuff but also much more than the Vikings only. It makes me happy to read that it became a tour giving you a full picture and a good introduktion to Sweden and how it is to live here. Will send this review onwards to Gabriel as well and let him know your kind words.

The tour was very informative. The tour guide Emma had a wealth of knowledge and was very personable. On the day, my wife and I were the only customers but we were collected from our hotel in a comfotable car and had the tour guide all to ourselves which was an added bonus. We are glad that we took the tour as it provided us with the opportunity to see some of the surrounding towns and countryside that we would have missed had we stayed in Stockholm and of course we learned a lot about the viking culture along the way. Great way to spend a day's vacation.

This tour was excellent. Our guide Gabriel was extremely knowledgable. We visited many sites that combined help tell the story of the Viking era. From farm paddocks to an old village, to churches, Rune Stones, mounds and more. Fascinating tour.

Emma (guide) was wonderful and our driver (Bianca) was terrific. Only concern this was a Viking tour and felt the new town of Upsala should have been omitted We wasted time at a church and then didn’t get to see the Viking Museum in old Upsala as it was closing in two minutes. Very disappointed! We chose this tour as we wanted Viking history not another European church!

Hi, thanks for the feedback on the tour itinerary and thanks for taking your time to leave a review. I understand that you're disappointed and I will take in your feedback and think about it in regards of the Uppsala stop. We added Uppsala due to many requests to stop by the cathedral, but I understand that it doesn't fit anyone, and I'm sorry to hear that you felt it took your time away from the Viking stuff, and also that you missed the museum (who isn't included in our normal tour but whom we could have added by request). I understand that you're disappointed and I'm so sorry I can't change your tour experience, and apologize if we where not listening enough on you during the tour if you said you didn't want to include Uppsala city. I'm happy to read that you liked both our guide Emma and Bianca and seems to have enjoyed the tour apart from the Uppsala city stop. / Owe.
