About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Tas-wanderer0 contributionsWeaving a photographic memory of Stockholm- Brilliant !!I have just spent three most enjoyable hours in Stockholm learning so much about photography!! I met Dennis at the appointed time and place in Gamla Stan and we proceeded to dissect what photography was about and in an instant Dennis seemed to understand what I wanted to glean from this photograph course- I didn't want to just take pictures I wanted to learn how to compose interesting, memorable (especially for me) time capsules. To say that Dennis was so patient, so knowledgeable, so professional and just so excellent weaving a web of photographic options to challenge my concepts of what I liked about my composing a photographic memory of Stockholm. Just brilliant!!! and I am now thinking how I can put these amazing ideas(I say ideas as I have a lot of practice to develop these into skills) into my daily photography !! This 3 hours in Stockholm learning new concepts have made my solo trip to wonderful Sweden the most memorable time!! Dennis made that happen with his quiet questioning, his delightful way of not making me feel inadequate - he just saw dimensions and concepts which initially eluded me - and together we went on an exceptional journey in Stockholm !! The communication prior to the photography lesson was excellent and Patrik kept in contact making sure I knew meeting places and contact details. Thank you so much for so much fun while learning all the time!!Written July 22, 2019
- Chris Y0 contributionsFantasticI had wanted my 13 year old to join a group photo tour but none was available so we booked a private tour which was really beyond our means but ended up being the best thing. Dennis, our guide, was incredibly patient and quickly tuned into what we wanted from the tour. My daughter wanted technical tuition and Dennis was superb at this. He seemed to understand intuitively how to deal with a shy teenager and showed her techniques for photographing people without drawing attention to herself. Before we got back to the Metro after the tour, she was already messaging her friends to arrange to meet up and go out photographing. Dennis is a lovely guy - a really talented artist, and empathetic and communication with him and Patrik was very good. And to the person who gave a poor review because of the weather and the mixed ability group.... really!!!???Written July 20, 2017
- mysterioustraveling0 contributionsGreat opportunity to Capture Stockholm at nightI signed up for this tour prior to my departing for Stockholm on business and some vacation. He photographer for many years, I rarely have the opportunity to photograph in the evening hours. This was an excellent opportunity to try some new things with my camera, and with some advice from Elizabeth, our lovely guide, thoroughly enjoyed this experience. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys photography, and would like to try some new things with their camera at night.Written July 4, 2017
- annettpitt0 contributionsPerfect private night photo tourI booked a private photo tour - Stockholm by night. It was a thrilling lecture in photography with real cool photos as result. I didn't bring my own equipment but it was no problem to rent a good camera and a tripod. Patrik is a patient photographer full of knowledge. He also lets people just play around. Now I know some more places for making photos. I will book a day tour for my next visit in Stockholm.Written January 8, 2017
- Javier E0 contributionsGood but lacking...Ok, so it was built up to be this amazing tour where you could take in beautiful sights of the city... it was that to an extent but lacking. The good: Our guide Dennis was very nice and pleasant. He spoke English and Swedish and everyone in the group was able to understand him. The Bad: Weather was minus degrees and being outside in the bitter cold didn't make for a fantastic time to take photos. However, there was some sun and the lighting was good (this is good!!). There was a mix of amateur and experienced photographers in our group so the ones who wanted to see more places and experience taking better photos didn´t get that. Dennis focused more on the inexperienced photographers and took a lot more time to explain to them the inner workings of the camera. The Ugly: This should not have been a photography class. City Photo Tour company should have tours for amateur and experienced photographers. Had I known this I would not have paid $100 dollars for this tour.Written December 12, 2016
- Joseph H0 contributionsGreat for experienced photographers too!Patrik gave a great 3-hour tour of Gamla Stan (Stockholm's old town) and the surrounding districts. We stopped at a lot of interesting vantage points, and he provided many tips and thoughtful comments that will continue to use in my street photography, cityscapes, and landscapes. I have been an avid photographer for many years and I really felt that Patrik knew how to help me (or a photographer at any level) in a short time!Written June 21, 2016
- Simon M0 contributionsSuperbI can pay no greater testament to my tour with Patrik than he managed to get me from beginner level to shooting in manual within 3 hours. A fast-paced and thoroughly enjoyable evening. The pictures have made for an excellent souvenir. RecommendWritten June 6, 2016
- Sara P0 contributionsVery good tour!Max made this three-hour tour a very nice experience. We got lot of photo tips and enjoyed very nice views of the city on a bright sunny day. Definitely recommended.Written May 16, 2016
- SMG20090 contributionsGreat way to see the cityI spent a morning with Patrik walking around the old town area and had a great time. He took the time to find out my level of skill and what interested me. I only had a short time to spend so this was a great way to cut through a few layers of touristy things and also to get a wonderful perspective on some cool vantage points. Patrik was patient and knowledgeable, but above all he was terrific company and helped me with my photography too. I would recommend that even if you're not that into photography, you'll still have a good time and get some pics that you'll be pleased with. If you're into photography then it'll bring even more benefit to you.Written March 30, 2016
- Poketlynnt0 contributionsAbsolutely loved our tour!We loved our Stockholm by Night: Photography Walking Tour. It was snowing the evening of our tour and all of the other participants canceled, so it was just my husband and myself with our guide, Patrick. Although he could have canceled our tour, Patrick still met us and really took the time to show us all of the beauty Stockholm has to offer at night. Patrick was clearly very knowledgeable not only about photography, but also about Stockholm and it's history. It seemed like he knew some bit of history or folklore about every alley we passed. Patrick was so friendly and easygoing, he made us feel very comfortable even though we are photograph novices. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Stockholm!Written February 28, 2016

We got to see the highlights of the city as well as many secret spots, completely off the main tourist grid. Highly recommended for any visitor to Stockholm, photographer or not, equally good!Written July 16, 2015

What a great way to see the city, and learn how to use a “real” camera too. It was fun to learn how to see things how a photographer sees them. Patrick was wonderful and really fun to spend a few hours with. Highly recommend.

I chose to book a private tour with Patrik because I wanted to be sure to get the time I needed to set up the photos I wanted, and I wanted Patrik to have the time to give me feedback on my photos. I see the tour as an investment to learn and grow my skills while also getting great vacation photos. It was everything I wanted it to be. It was well worth the added expense to have the one-on-one session, and the price is very reasonable considering you are working with a professional photographer. I found Patrik knowledgeable on the technical aspects of photography, and he gave me a new understanding of some of the tools on my camera. I've been on two other one-on-one tours in other countries and was pleased that Patrik showed me new things that I hadn't learned before. Patrik was also easy to chat with and I felt comfortable with him right away. He reached out to me about "plan b" in case we were to have a rainy evening, which I appreciated. All around great customer service. Thanks for a great evening! I would highly recommend this experience to others!
