Meet your guide and group in the center of Old Town at Stortorget, Stockholm's oldest square. Stroll the cobblestone streets of and listen as your guide tells you about such historic characters as Birger Jarl, the man who founded the city of Stockholm in 1250. Walk through atmospheric narrow passageways and along streets originally built for horse-drawn carriages as you head for the Gothic cathedral, Storkyrkan. Continue to the Royal Palace to admire its splendid baroque-style architecture, and the palace guards who protect the Swedish royal family's residence. Next, it's time to explore the archipelago further. Take a ferry to Djurgarden island to visit the Vasa Museum. Explore the highlight: a nearly intact ship that sank off Stockholm in 1628 on its maiden voyage. Your tour concludes in the museum, so feel free to continue exploring, or perhaps grab a bite to eat (own expense) at leisure.

    Wonderful tour with excellent guide
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour with our guide Sofia. She was very knowledgeable and told us so many amazing facts and gave us such a well rounded tour of Old Town and the Vasa Museum. It was a wonderful way to spend the morning getting to know this stunning city and its rich history. We would highly recommend this tour and our guide.

A great introduction to the old town
We booked this trip after reading the many positive reviews here on Tripadvisor. The meeting point was easy to find, right in front of the Nobel Prize museum. Our guide, Cathrin, greeted us and made everyone feel welcome. Our group was not very large (about 10 people) so it was easy to hear what the guide was saying, and we all got to see the different points of interest. This was a great introduction to the old town, and Cathrin kept our interest throughout the two hours. We were encouraged to ask questions, and she kept us engaged with historical facts and humor. We were four people travelling together where two of us have been on many walking tours, and two of us never had been on one before. All of us agreed that it was a great way to spend a couple of hours, and would be happy to go on more tours like this. This trip is accessible to most people, but there is a little bit of walking uphill, and down a few steps. Our group was mixed in terms of age and fitness level, but our guide made sure that everyone was included and waited when necessary. Make sure to wear appropriate shoes for walking on cobblestones. On some of the stops there were benches where you could sit while the guide talked. Thank you for a great day :) Our tour was on july 19th at 2pm

Worth the walk and the Talk
I really liked the walk from down town to the museums! Its fantastic that many museums are within a walk of each other! Tha dive-ins,the people walking fast, the treeined walkways, the cold from the sea...and the way people dress is quite pleasant. Lets say,its a lively, busy city...easy to navigate on foot, long as you have googlemaps on your phone! Although,i dont remember does the city have open public wifi... We walked it in the warm winter sun...it was quite warm for winter!! And the evenings.....wow!! The city center is breezy with lights...all manners of lights!! There are loads of restaurants to choose from...from the top notch to the cheapy hole in the wall!!

    Great tour
We really enjoyed this tour and our tour guide was wonderful! So interesting and informative and easy to talk to. The experience of walking around Stockholm and having the history explained gave us some great overall context to our visit. The conclusion of the tour at the Vasa was an excellent one. Our guide even helped us rearrange our ABBA museum tickets when we realised we were next to it at the Vasa

Informational, fantastic tour of Old Town!
The first thing my boyfriend and I did when we arrived in Stockholm was take the 2pm tour of Old Town, with guide Sofia - and I would highly recommend it! It is a great way to get yourself oriented in the Old Town area of the city, and also learn some fun and interesting history about the area. Our guide was fantastic; very knowledgeable and a great storyteller.

    Great fun
We were lucky to walk past the booking office in Gamla Stan. We organised a tour of the beautiful gardens via Segway based on the weather forecast. After instruction and practice we were off in the bike lanes (which are full or electric scooters) through the city to djurgarden. Once in the garden it was less hectic and our guide stopped along the way to point our various sites.

This was a good tour of an overview of Stockholm. I felt like it was a good length including main attractions supported by some nice storytelling. Our guide Joel was on time, fun at storytelling, and kept a good pace. I slightly wish we had more time with him in the Vasa Museum as I enjoyed his stories in there but we didn’t quite cover the other floors. Overall I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants an overview of the main highlights as well as inclusion of the Vasa Museum.

Stockholm is a really cool, sophisticated city. The architecture is such a wonderful mix of modern and art nouveau very reminiscent of boulevards in Paris.
As we only had a day to explore we opted for the “Hop on hop off “ bus and boat tours. Both were an excellent choice and value for getting a great overview of the city. We were able to hop off at many interesting sites, then rest weary feet to see more of the city and sites with headphones on both bus and boat for a great narration and overview of what we were seeing and the next stop!

We visited the Vasa museum. Fabulous exhibit of an ancient Viking ship that has been restored.

We also visited the Old City as well as the longest pedestrian steel with fabulous shops, cafés, and restaurants. We actually stopped in a lovely café and had a most delicious café mocha, a cappuccino, and two delicious desserts, a cannoli and key lime pie (ha!, in Stockholm!

All in all, a fabulous stay!

This was one of the best walking tours I have ever been on, thanks to the wonderful guide, Kevin. Rather than focusing on the typical boring historical facts, Kevin weaves together a fascinating tale that really brings Stockholm to life. From old town to the Vasa, you will leave feeling better connected to the city, its people and its history. I highly recommend starting your visit with this tour, it is a good grounding for the rest of your stay. Make sure Kevin is your guide!

Fantastically organized and informative museum all about the great galleon ship the Vasa which sunk in Stockholm harbor on its maiden voyage. It was then raised 333 years later...it is astonishing and the restaurant in the museum is fantastic. A must see while in Stockholm.

An astonishing piece of modern museum craft. Built around the 'wreck' (which honestly is pretty complete), this building is functional in ways that most galleries can only dream of. While gazing at the ship in all its majesty can take many hours, don't skimp on the huge amount of contextual material that explains so much of the life and times on each floor of the exhibits. I can with reasonable expectations, and left staggered by how brilliant this is. Just avoid the school trips and peak crowds to get the most out of it

Great fun tour with history of the old town and Sweden generally. Learned a lot and our guide was engaging, fun and entertaining. Tickets also included short boat ride and entry to the Vasa Museum - which is breathtaking. Small
Group of no more than 16 on the tour which was perfect. Be on time as they leave the meet up spot right on time. Highly recommend.

I was prepared to see an old sunken ship that had been brought up but this was so far beyond that I'm at a loss for accurate words to describe the Vasa. This is unbelievable in so many ways. Its massive- well beyond what I was expecting- the craftsmanship is amazing and the whole layout of the museum is just fantastic. This is truly one of the coolest museum experiences I've ever had. In my personal scale of life, if the Grand Canyon is the apex at a 10, this is a 9.

Three hours flew by. Kevin was a great guide, friendly, knowledgeable and good fun. The first part of the tour concentrated on the old town and then it was off on a ferry to the Vasa museum.

Kevin had multiple recommendations for us and his suggestion to lunch at Bla porten was a great end to the tour.

I wanted to take a tour that would give some history to the area I was staying in. My friend and I decided on this tour. Our guide, I believe her name was Katerin or Katherine, was simply excellent. She took the time to explain the history of old town, the vasa and the story behind it. She was engaging and pleasant and despite a rather overly know it all person in another group she handled it with grace and kindness. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in the history of Stockholm. Thank you again for a wonderful afternoon.
