About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- cecilia20 contributionsChris is great!Chris was exceptional. I joined the tour with our 11 and 22 year old daughters. We all loved it. Made our say in Stockholm!Written August 4, 2024

- B9343PJkellyb0 contributionsCallum is your guide to bloodshed and bloodbathsIf you can do one tour in Stockholm, do this one. Admittedly, a “ghost tour” when it’s bright out (the sun never seems to set in Stockholm in June) hits differently. But, what you get is entertaining history of the bloody history of Stockholm. Callum was brilliant at engaging the audience, keeping it age appropriate for younger participants when discussing adult content, and even shut down a hipster heckler delightfully. The super creepy ending I won’t ruin, but, wait for it. I’ll give a plug for adding on the dinner option. I looked at both options, one looked tasty and like a good deal, the other was a historically significant location but I wasn’t interested in the chosen dinner. So we booked the first, and went to the other location on our own to choose from the greater menu. We actually met Callum first as we were leaving. He admitted they were two of his favorite restaurants. Frankly, they were two of the best meals we’ve had in Stockholm.Written June 8, 2024
- 977malink0 contributionsLoved it! Callum is an amazing guide! My boyfriend and I went on a tour in Gamla Stan with the guide Callum. It was very interesting, exciting and fun (Callum made us laugh a lot and is an amazing story-teller). It was a great experience and we were intrigued throughout the entire tour. We were a big group of people and he managed to make us all feel involved. He was also a very considerate guide. I'm from Stockholm - but my boyfriend (who I went with) is not from Sweden and he were chocked about the history. Now he finally understands how mental Swedes really are, haha! I highly recommend Stockholm Ghost Walk and a tour with Callum. I would definitely go again and recommend that others book a tour too. You will have great time! (And also: My boyfriend and I want to say an extra big thank you for being so understanding and helpful with the booking). /Malin 👻Written May 8, 2024
- staceyrR4025US0 contributionsCallum was both factual and entertainingI've read the less than flattering reviews and I must think, what on earth were people expecting!? We got exactly what we expected. Historic facts, some gory but delivered theatrically with humour and suspense. There was plenty of Ghosts mentioned, perhaps the others with negative reviews actually expected to see them!? The group was large but Callum (our guide) ensured everyone was involved. We weren't rushed but time wasn't wasted either. Plenty of photo opportunities. My wife and I added the dinning package which was excellent! Both in quality and value. I would recommend anyone to go on one of these tours.Written April 27, 2024

- stephandant0 contributionsEvening tourOn a wet February night we took the English tour with Callum who was a very good host. The tour took around 90 minutes, it's more a historical tour with bloody facts than an out and out ghost tour. We enjoyed it despite the rainWritten February 16, 2024

Sadly didn’t enjoy. Callum has a strange way of speaking, I found it quite unintelligible, speeds up his sentences then emphasis on the last word. Combined with the Scottish lilt to his voice and the whisper he engaged at certain points I felt we missed 60% of the speaking. Many of the group were not English but seemed to be laughing along so they were either being polite or we really did miss something. I guess it’s a love or hate thing. As previous reviews dramatic tour rather than true history. Some of the dramatics we felt was over laboured and not particularly interesting or clever. We did enter some streets we probably wouldn’t have ventured into without a tour, but overall not good value for money and we regretted booking 3 places.

Brilliant tour! Highly recommended for someone that wants to see a bit of Stockholm and hear it's history in a vivid, descriptive with some hands on visual way. Our guide, a Scot, told us numerous tales, historical and folklore, in a most humerus way I ever heared from a guide. English is not my native language, but I understood his accent without any problems. He engaged the tour participants into his stories, which created interest and attention. The historical tour ended in a building's creepy dungeon with some ghost stories adding a bit of thrill to the tour.

I had a few days to spend in Sweden with my sister and friends and one of the things we decided to do was to go on this ghost walk. Calum ( or is it Callum?) was our ghost walk guide and he was brilliant. I would recommend this ghost walk to anyone who wants to learn a bit about some of the darker sides of Stockholm. The tour was very entertaining and Calum gets a full ten out of ten for telling the various stories sprinkled with a good dose of fun.

I went on this tour with my family while staying in Stockholm. We did the tour later in visit and I would recommend doing it earlier in your visit as it does provide a good historical basis and understanding of the city. Our tour guide had a great sense of humor and was very entertaining and interesting to listen to. Overall we genuinely enjoyed the tour. The only critique that some members of my party had were that there were not very many ghost stories in particular.

Had a wonderful and entertaining tour with Callum. He maintained such a positive energy throughout the tour -- his passion really shows! It was a little unsettling to learn all the grisly goings on in the Old Town area; Callum really brought the stories to life! His animated delivery and quirky sense of humor fit the subject matter perfectly. I recommend the tour highly!!

Calum greeted our group with a lamp and mysterious bag, more of this later. He was dressed most appropriately for the night ahead with a wonderful hat and clock. He led us deeper and deeper into the bowels of old Stockholm. It was a bitterly cold snowy night and his tales cut through the air like a knife pushed deep into our souls. His voice sometimes calming sometimes creepy, whichever way it was impossible not to listen avidly to his every word. He told us of murders and grisly executions, of plagues which tore out the heart of the local population and made Covid 19 seem like a sniffle compared. It was, as I had hoped it would be, a piece of drama played out where the event’s actually took place. And the bag? Well it was part of the drama which he used to perfection. Bless you Calum. I hope it was just a cold and that the intrepid group will not sneeze and all fall down never to rise again except in the form of a spectre .

We did the tour a second time, had done the same tour ten years ago with the same guide.
He is a really good storyteller. Not too much "ghost" stuff going on, more like history of the city wrapped up in a creepy package. Very entertaining though.
The only criticism I have is, the group was too big.
We had about 30 people in our group and often the guide would just whisper something, to be extra spooky, I couldn't hear it.
I think it'd be better if the group size was limited to 15 people or so.

Thank you! Happy to see you again on our tour.
Sometimes a group of 30 feels like 10 people and sometimes a group of 15 feels like 100 people. We usually goes with around 20-30 people without any problems.
We will talk to the guide that he has to speak louder ;-)

About an hour and a half of we’ll done storytelling, attention retaining, and joke cracking. Callum was a great guide and storyteller and felt like he genuinely enjoyed performing.
I went solo and enjoyed it thoroughly, and I can safely say that it would be just as good, if not better with friends.

We used this as a springboard on our first night to get a feel of the old town. We got a decent dose of history and the tour brought the streets to life, instead of just wandering around a collection of interesting looking buildings. Callum the tour guide was great; drew everyone on the tour into the stories and was very funny and knowledgeable. A really enjoyable evening - and scary at the end (I'll say no more!)

This was an awesome tour! The tour guide was very fun and animated, while putting on a show featuring some jokes and scares. We learned a lot about the history of Stockholm while visiting various locales around the city. The tour was about spot on with the estimated duration of 1 hour 30 minutes. We highly recommend this tour to all who plan to visit Stockholm.
