Learn about the castle’s royal history, and how it is tied to Shakespeare’s play, Hamlet. Visit Frederiksborg Palace, the largest Renaissance castle in Scandinavia. Move to Roskilde Cathedral, burial spot for numerous Danish kings and queens. Tours between November and March don’t have access to the cathedral interior; visitors will take narrated walk around the structure's exterior instead. Start:Multiple pickup locations offered.
  • Coach parking Tivoli Copenhagen, H. C. Andersens Blvd. 26, 1553 København, Denmark
The starting point is a parking area for tour busses by the back of Tivoli Gardens right across the street from Copenhagen City Hall (Rådhuset). If you have any problems finding the pick-up point please feel free to call the local operator, Hamlet Tours, for directions at +4530700667.

You will receive an e-mail with the exact pickup time at least 24 hours prior to the tour. We do NOT go to hotels outside the city center. This includes hotels near the airport such as Crowne Plaza and AC Bella Sky and hotels in the Nordhavn area such as Adina Apartments. Certain hotels which are located within a few minutes' walk of the starting point are also not included because you would spend a lot more time getting picked up and then driven around to other pick ups rather than just walk a few minutes directly to the starting point of the tour if you are staying right next to it. Great experience with Hamlet Tours in Copenhagen
Took a tour of castles and palaces with Ross as our guide. Pickup and drop off at the hotel. Ross was very knowledgeable and we visited some astonishing sites (Roskilde Cathedral, Viking Ship Museum, Frederiksborg Palace and Kronborg Castle). Wonderful experience and highly recommended.

        Great tour!
We did a day tour with Silas! It was a great tour, he was funny and engaging. Everything was on time and the drives were all less than 1 hour. It felt like a nice mix of guided tour and self touring. Would recommend for sure!

        Great day!
Great day spent with our awesome tour guide, Sillas. He was super fun with lots of knowledge about the stops. The tour was well managed and we did not feel rushed. The recommendation for the lunch place was excellent. We would absolutely recommend this tour to everyone. And ask for Sillas if you want to make sure it's great!

        Excellent tour and guide
Excellent experience and tour. Rene was our guide and we saw all planned destinations. He provided clear instructions, directions and recommendations. Rene also helped us navigate choices and modified/kept us on schedule after some unplanned interruptions...guiding us on the Kronberg Castle tour to see all.

        Roskilde/Frederiksberg/Kronborg - great tour in 1 day
We went on a tour with Benji from Hamlet Tours (through Get Your Guide), on a day tour of Roskilde, Viking ship museum, Frederiksborg and Kronborg castles. The tour was fantastic. Lots of great and interesting facts from Benji about Denmark past and present, and wonderful places to visit. The tour was organized very well. Would highly recommend as part of your Copenhagen visit.

Took an 8-hour tour with Benji to Roskilde Cathedral, Viking Ship Museum, Frederiksborg Castle, and Kronbetg Castle! It was fabulous, entertaining, and full of interesting historical tidbits you don’t get visiting on your own! Benji kept us on time and was fabulous! All around great day! Highly recommend!

        Great value for money
Today I went on a tour with this company. Roskilde, Frederiksborg and Kronenborg. It was superb. Our guide was super knowledgeable and also funny. He kept the group together and made sure we had a fantastic day. I think this tour was great value for money and better than trying to do all 3 sites independently

        Hamlet day tour
Benji did an excellent job with our day tour through Denmark. He was very informative with background stories and histories that he would speak about on the way to each destination. Would definitely recommend this tour! Great way to see more than just Copenhagen and not have to pay for a private car/driver!

Great one day trip to must-see Denmark attractions
We had a great experience with Hamlet tours and our driver/guide Benji. He ga e us private tours in Roskilde cathedral and Kromburg castle and drove us safely to all 4 attractions. Small groups (no more than 16) and visiting Kromburg at the sunset is a magical experience. Highly recommended if you want to see everything in one day.

From start to finish, our trip was an great experience. Our guide, Benji, was so nice and his storytelling was excellent. He had an abundance of knowledge about each of our stops from the Roskilde Cathedral to Fredricksborg and Kronborg that painted a perfect picture as we meandered through each place. I believe they max the groups at 15, but ours was a bit smaller and the intimate group made the trip all the better. 10/10 would recommend this day tour to anyone visiting Copenhagen and looking for a laid back and insightful tour.

The sites are beautiful - all stops are good choices. A really good itinerary that allows you to visit the distant sites. 👍. Our tour guide (Sven Erik) was terrific (super friendly, considerate, knowledgeable, all in all a nice guy!).

However, our mini bus had defective air conditioning - as a result most of the ride was above 30C/86F. Good that the tour group was quite small!! We also had too short of a stop at Frederiksborg Castle (the highlight location).
I attribute these two negatives to getting back in the swing of things, Post Covid shutdown. Quite sure these will get worked out quickly.

All in all, a very nice tour in a lovely city.

Dear Corinne Thanks a lot for gong on our tour today! Sorry to hear about the problem with the AC. It was the first time in a year that this bus was on a tour so you are right about getting back on track. We will get it fixed. It was unfortunate that it was such a hot day then. Temperatures above 30 celcius are unusual in Denmark but today was extraordinarily hot. kind regards, Rasmus Hamlet Tours

Took part in Hamlet Tours’ Grand Day Trip around Copenhagen, and “grand” is the perfect description. Our small group of 10 saw so much packed in one day (0900-1800): the Viking Ship Museum, Roskilde Domkirke Cathedral, and both Frederiksborg and Kronberg Castles. Also had delicious Smørrebrød (open-faced sandwich) for lunch at a quaint café (Café Valentin—service was fast and friendly) near Frederiksborg castle, with new friends I made on the tour. But most importantly, our tour guide/driver Benji was what made the experience unforgettable. His super-friendly demeanour, humour and wealth of information as we visited the sites (especially at Kronborg Castle—ask him what royalty did for washrooms back in the day lol), was above and beyond. He easily bonded with everyone and even discussed his love of Filipino cuisine with me to make me feel welcome. I highly recommend Benji as your tour guide—ask for him, to enjoy the ultimate walkabout experience. Thank you Benji for a most memorable day on my Copenhagen adventure.

Double decker Big Bus tour and Boat Tour is all what you need to have a great idea about this beautiful city. The bus tour allow me to get off and get on many times and enjoy the city while I was taking photos and videos. I can say that it couldn't be better. I recommend other travelers to do the same

This was a terrific, full-day experience. The guide, Thomas, was outstanding, providing extensive historical background and commentary at all four sites we visited. (In a jam-packed itinerary, he also did a great job keeping us on schedule). I appreciated the small size of the group, as well as the clean, comfortable mini-bus.

Overall, this was a fabulous tour. We got to see a wide variety of locations and our tour guide was prepared, informative, and entertaining. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I think there were one too many stops. I don't know which one to drop, but I felt rushed at each location, wishing I could soak up more. Especially at Fredricksborg Castle where we needed to fit in lunch as well. I wanted to get a chance to walk around that cute town a bit but time didn't permit it.

Note, if you do want to get the Copenhagen Card, note it when booking and you can save some $$ on the tour and use your visiting power of the card. I forgot to do that and basically paid double... whoops!

We saw a lot on this tour that we may have otherwise never seen on our own. The tour takes you to two castles, the Viking museum and the most historic Cathedral in Denmark. Thomas our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. You could tell he really knew the history of each place inside out and wasn't just reading from a script. We explored Kronborg with Thomas and Frederickborg on our own because it is just so huge. Despite the size we had enough time at both. Overall it was a great tour and gave us the best overview of the history of Denmark from our trip.

Since this was my first time travelling to Denmark, I wanted to explore this city's rich history. This trip provided me with the opportunity to see a number of landmarks that I otherwise would not have been able to see since I did not want to rent a car. I was not disappointed, as I had an amazing trip touring a few of the breathtaking landmarks outside of the city. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe the entire time and even bonded with a few of the members of the small group. I thoroughly enjoyed the knowledge and humour of our guide, Benji. He ensured that we had enough time to visit each site while also keeping us entertained and informed throughout the day. I would highly, highly recommend this trip to anyone who is interested in history and/or exploring a few sites that are difficult to reach outside of Copenhagen. You will not regret it!

We booked this a few weeks in advance and with some communication back and forth found out that for the places we were visiting we could use our Copenhagen Card to gain entrance, so that was a nice touch and saved a few pound.

The tour was enjoyable taking in four stops taking in the history of the areas around Copenhagen and Denmark as a whole. Tour guide Thomas was full of information at each stop and everything went smoothly.

If you have an interest in sightseeing and history then give it a go, at around £100 per person if you have Copenhagen Card it's a pretty good deal. Highly recommended.

Terrific day visiting interesting and informative sites outside of the inner city. It was a full day visiting Roskilde, the Viking ship museum, and Frederiksborg and Kronborg castles. Benji our tour guide was helpful and knowledgeable and added much to the experience. I was so glad I was able to experience these historic and majestic sites, one of the highlights of my trip to Denmark. I would not have been able to do all of this in one day with Hamlet Tours and would highly recommend this tour company and experience!
