Boarding the tour bus and beginning the journey to visit the Meteora. Tour guide was so knowledgeable. The timing was great to provide enough time as needed at all sites. 100% would recommend this tour.

It was a little bit of a "last minute" decision, we initially thought of doing it in a little different manner, but it all turned out great. All the vouchers were immediately sent upon payment, with exact information "where to go, when to go", we were met at the Kalambaka train station by Vassilis (I hope I didn't misspell his name), who turned out to be a real gold mine in terms of history knowledge for the area and more. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good value travel agency!!

We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Katerina, was excellent, as was our driver. It would have been helpful to have the fact we needed to change trains highlighted on the information we were sent - it did say on our train tickets but only in very small print. Also there are a lot of steps to climb if you want to go in to the monasteries which should perhaps be mentioned, along with suitable footwear - not flip flops, my standard summer wear! Altogether though it was very well organised and we felt well looked after.

I never was able to make it to the tour.
They had me be at the Thessaloniki train station at 8:18 for a 8:56 train and I assumed there would be someone to meet me there???? No One. Got on the first train at 8:56 which was supposed to arrive at the second train station at 10:35. Paniced at 10:49 when it finally arrived at a train station I got off, only to find out that this was a stop too soon and the train was running late. Never made it to the second train . The train station was kind enough to turns my three train tickets in for a ride back to Thessaloniki. A waste of about 6 hours and 150.00E which it cost me with the taxi trips to and from the train station.
Not a good trip to take with any language barrier!!

Hello,
My name is George and i am the Manager at Visit Meteora.
We are so sorry to hear that you missed the train station at Palaiofarsalos and this turned to be an unpleasant experience for you.
You get off one station before the correct station although you had the name of the station at your tickets.
Our tour description and instructions are very clear on where do you meet with our stuff.
We always wait our clients at the terminal station Kalampaka.
When we reached you by phone to offer a solution you refused it and return to Thessaloniki with the next train.
Please read the descriptions carefully next time is much better to be well informed for something that you buy than to just assume..
Unfortunately you never made it here to enjoy our tour. If you ever come here in the future please contact us and we can offer a free tour for you and your family
Thank you
George

This one day train trip from Thessaloniki to Meteora and back with guide was just what we were looking for. The tour of the Meteora monasteries and ancient church in the area with the excellent guide Vangalis(?) was great. However, the logistics which the Viator travel company provided for getting to the region by train left much to be desired. We knew we had to change trains somewhere along the way but our tickets and all of the railroad station signs were written in Greek with no English translation, so we had to depend on the good graces of the friendly Greek travelers to get us on and off the train at the right stations! Luckily, for us people were helpful and friendly, but on the way back to Thessaloniki we were informed that the train we were traveling on was headed for Athens! A very helpful young man made sure we got off at the correct station for changing trains headed for Thessaloniki...and if it wasn’t for him, we would have ended up in Athens!!! The tour company needs to give very specific travel instructions to its tour participants and in this respect they were sorely lacking!!
The tour itself in Meteora cannot be faulted, but I wouldn’t book a tour again through Viator, because of the faulty logistics.

All aspects of this tour were top-notch. Email communication before the trip was prompt and clear. The tour buses are Mercedes mini buses and are very new, clean and roomy . All the guides are friendly and very helpful. The restaurants for the dinners that came with my package were great. I signed up for the sunset tour, hiking tour and scrambling tour. All were planned and executed very well. I highly recommend using this company.

Visiting Meteoras was on my bucket list ever since my mother visited it. It was a breathtaking special expreience. We are an undergraduate couple from Hungary.
We made the best choice with choosing this travel agency. We would have never known this much of the history of this unique place. I am addicted to history, and after visiting Rome this was ar my best expreience. it was a bless, a sentimental visit.
Maria, our tour guide was even better: she grew up on this area, her personal stories, humour made this trip so touching. Our driver was sooo cute, he helped taking pictures, came to us, set the position, and our best pictures are the ones that he made. We cannot say anything, just thank you for this once in a lifetime expreience.
We travelled by trains from Thessaloniki, our trip was good, because the agency gave everything to us: basically ur job was to get on the train and then get off. :)
You have to see these blessed monasterys. Also the view is amazing: you can't miss it.
