About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- SJPW330 contributionsFabulous food in AthensWe have done a few tours in European cities, which have all been good. But this one was the best. Our guide Tonia was amazing. She knew everything and everyone and we really felt like insiders rather than just visitors. Tonia’s English was fantastic and she was extremely entertaining. She did everything possible to make us feel special and help us learn about the food of the city she clearly loves. We actually saw how some of the food we tasted was made, which was so interesting. All the food was delicious and, although we have travelled for many years in Greece, we learned so much more in just a few hours about the country and the city’s food. I would thoroughly recommend this tour, but give one word of warning. DO NOT EAT BEFORE YOU GO! And pace yourself on the tour - you will not go hungry and you will eat some of the most delicious Greek food you have ever tasted. Thank you Tonia for making this such a great and memorable tour.Written January 15, 2025

- claytont9110 contributionsGreat Chef + Good Food = Great Experience! We had an AMAZING time at this cooking class! Highly recommend for a dinner in Athens! Chef was fun and serious at the same time. He truly wanted each persons food to be a delicious master piece. We loved that he incorporated personal stories and aspects from his life into the class and food. Again, I would HIGHLY recomend this class!Written January 8, 2025
- RichardW8920 contributionsWonderful trip, great food and perfect hostI cannot recommend this tour enough. Our guide, Antonia was first class. Very knowledgable, attentive and looked after our family party perfectly. The food stops were varied and food absolutely delicious. The indoor market was fascinating. Our favourite stop was the Tavern where we shared numerous tasty plates of tapas style dishes, ranging from sardines, squid and delicious cheeses to the perfect vegetarian plates. We watched pastries being made and greek coffee being brewed - overall a truly wonderful experience.Written January 7, 2025

- Huw Eurig H0 contributionsJohn the archaeologist rocks the Acropolis!John, the archaeologist, was great fun and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend it. The climb up the acropolis was made easy by frequent stops on the way up to catch your breath. A plethora of interesting facts and stories were combined masterfully to create a very enjoyable day.Written January 3, 2025
- Sarah R0 contributionsExcellent tourThe guide was extremely knowledgable, there were plenty of stops and the tour was just long enough (we have two children aged 11 and 8. With our two youngsters I was happy to not add on the museum tour, this would’ve been too long for them). The tour finished at the Acropolis so we were left to explore more at our own pace, so you could make it longer than the 1hr30 specified.Written January 3, 2025

Amazing symbolic monument museum at sea front. A must to see when you visit the city.
Thessaloniki's top landmark, the 34m-high White Tower has a harrowing history as a prison and torture chamber.

We learned so much of Thessaloniki's history in a visual and engaging way. Our tour started at the Church of St. Demetrios, where we went underground into the old Roman baths where the Saint was killed. We learned about the history of the many incarnations of the Church from Roman times onward. From there, we saw Byzantine architecture and symbolism in the Church of Agia Sophia and learned more about the origins of the Iconoclast movement. Another highlight was the Rotunda, which was built by the Pagan emperor Galerius, turned into a Christian church, and then turned into a mosque by the Ottomans. We also visited the Arch and Palace of Galerius, heard the history of the White Tower, and ended by the statue of Alexander. The pace of the tour was excellent for us and packed with new information. By far the best walking tour we took in Greece.
