    Sightseeing buses - Athens
Athens is a great city to visit and we had a fab time. The only disappointment being the hop on hop off city sightseeing bus. We paid €66 for 2 for all routes. However all we saw in 6 hours is a ridiculous amount of traffic lights and the same route around the park. Traffic is horrific in Athens and I doubt you could do the whole route of one tour in a week! We got off and used the metro instead and it was great. Only €8 for a 5 day pass and very frequent and efficient service, even down to the port. The route lines are easy to follow and we had multiply trips day and night all over the city. Forget the buses and use the metro and you’ll certainly fit more into your

Walking would be best where you can
Absolutely awful idea for the location. Used these buses numerous destinations but here was just awful. Too much traffic, meaning a 90 minute route takes 4 hours without getting off anywhere to sightsee. Of course they don't tell you this and even in the bus the narrator says the same. If you want to see Athens sufficiently you’re best walking where you can. This also means you can do some sightseeing and shopping along the way. Maybe they should start placing bus lanes or tourism lanes, this may assist but the vast amount of traffic was just madness.

    Find a different way around
Have done this bus in another 6 cities through Europe, all excellent. Athens is not a good city for this bus. Very heavy traffic for half of the route makes it unenjoyable with many stops in traffic that grind it to a halt. Also uses same route stops back and forth for 1/3 of trip before going on to other stops. Worst of all I've been on.

Good way to see lots of attractions
Convenient way to get around between all the tourist attractions. Not always 15 minutes in between busses, and sometimes they are full so you have to wait for the next one. Air conditioning was a blessing.

The hotel was great. We were 3 friends and we booked a 2 bedroom suite that was giant and very comfortable.the room was very clean . The receptionist yanis and Maria was the best. They were so nice and friendly and always helped us and make sure that we are having the best time. We will back for sure. It was an amazing experience. Thank you so much 🩷

    Decent
Good for getting about and seeing what you want to but uncomfortable seats, plastic and therefore sweaty. Not always clear which stop you’re at but overall a good little jaunt

    Perfect city break
Athens was so easy to get around . The Acropolis is a must visit and the rooftop bars where you can see it lit up at night. Lovely bars and restaurants and the Athens people were very welcoming

    Never again!
Attached is A View of the Acropolis through a Red Bus Window. Need I say more? Unfortunately, yes. The audio is as bad as the vision, confirmed by the fact that most people on the bus had removed their headphones. Much of the sound was musak, and such words that we could pick up suggested uninformative content, along with self-advertising. Unquestionably the worst Red Bus - or any sort of bus - experience we've encountered - which is really saying something, because we'd recently taken a Red Bus on Corfu. We got off half way, when we were about to be bundled into another bus, and caught a taxi home. Why didn't we travel on the upper deck, I hear you ask? Simply because, being of a certain age, we couldn't manage the stairs. I guess the operator doesn't realize that infirm people form part of its clientele. A better, and probably cheaper option for Athens: take taxis from A to B. Enough! Never again.

Excellent way to see other parts of Athens at a reasonable price
We enjoyed our hop on hop off bus journey to the beaches and the riviera of Athens. A grea way to get out of the city centre and discover other parts of Athens. Good value and when you time the bus it is great

    Don't waste your money
On the tour now, please DON'T waste your money. Half way around they make you switch busses and it's a free for all to get back on. Another bus coming now but told it's full to 💩☹️

    Athens in August
I found the service to be extremely convenient and an efficient way to get around the touristy area of the city. The upper deck provided a nice breeze on hot days.

    Nice but lack frequency
The company sales force is ready to sell you the "Dream Tour" ... they tell you about the bus schedule (start / end)... unfortunately, the bus frequency was not as advertise.... waiting at the Acropolis for almost 1 hour (arrived at stop at 16h00 ... bus showed around 16h50) ... so we can finally return to the hotel! This BUMP in our schedule was not expected and had an impact on other activities.... so before saying YES ... just be aware of the BUS schedule.... other options exists

City Sightseeing a great way to see Athens and the Beach Riviera
City Sightseeing Athens was a great way to see Athens and the Beach Riviera area. The lower-level has air conditioning, which was a welcomed relief during the hot, July summer day. The ear plugs were a bit wonky, but, other than that, we enjoyed seeing Athens this way, then taking advantage of the HOHO to spend a little more time at our favourite sites. I recommend both the red line (Athens city center) and the Beach Riviera routes.

Great tour but even better customer service
The bus trip was great, lots of stops, great audio guide and the bus had a cover to protect us from the 38 degree heat which a lot of other companies didn’t have. But, this all pales in comparison to the amazing customer service we received from Evi And Euphrosyne - not only did they happily send us our voucher when the email confirmation was delayed in some internet server, but after my daughter left her sunglasses and water bottle on the coach, they asked the depot to look for them, found them, got them delivered to their office in the city centre for us, kept them for 3 days until we were back in Athens and had topped my daughter’s water bottle up with fresh water and kept it in the fridge for us. They were so kind, helpful and deserve a shout out (or a bonus if their managers are reading this!)

Nothing but appraised should be told for the people working at the port. When I visited they were dealing with a lot of angry costumers and never lost posture and patience!
However in regards to the visit you can find cheaper versions on both lines with the public transportation of the city.
Like some reviews said the audio on some buses is very tricky and most of the time is music.
It’s a very overpriced tour since you can visit the same things for much cheaper.

Worst bus tour ever. We often do these but for 19 Euros we got to see the back streets of corfu town and port. When we got to the various points we could not see eg the view, the palace where Prince Philip was born etc without getting off and the bus doesn’t stop long enough. There was not enough there to make it worthwhile stopping. It would be better to hire a well informed taxi driver at the port and there are quite a number of them

A lovely way to visit Corfu. We took the Hop on Hop off bus from the cruise port. We stopped at the top of the hill overlooking Mouse Island and walked down to get the boat across (3 Euro), then a stop for a wander along the promenade, and then at the old fort where we had a lovely lunch at a cafe overlooking the sea.
Next time we’ll take our swimwear for a dip in the ocean.

Our fault but you need to know this. The bus itself was fine but we got it because we wanted to go to kanoni to see the monastery. It was a slow bus and spent most of the hour in traffic jams in the city, we got to Kanoni fine though it took a while. With hindsight we found the Kanoni bus stop was almost next to the Blue line 2a bus stop which also goes from Corfu town. The 2a ticket is 1.80 euros each way rather than 22 euros for HOHO. So depending on what you are doing and how many places you want to see but for us it was a massive waste of money. We could probably have got a taxi for a similar amount

Nice scam, in fact you pay 22 euros for a line, the red one, which only makes 6 stops. The comments are tasteless. The only plus is the fact that it's a double-decker bus and you ride with your hair blowing in the wind.

Prefer to take the “blue” bus, the Corfu transport company, which takes you everywhere for 5 euros for a day pass.
They run every 20 minutes and are on time at every stop.

Not worth €19. Barely goes to any sights. Corfu is such a big island with multiple beaches and attractions. It would be nice if this tour had a route to north and south Corfu so tourists could explore those beautiful sights instead of the city centre which could be easily done via walking.

Not worth the price, I have been on multiple hop on hop off buses and this was definitely the worst! Corfu town is so small that it doesn’t warrant a hop on hop off bus, audio was that crackly it was uncomfortable to listen to and the ‘tour’ only took nearly an hour because we were stuck in traffic! Definitely not worth £22

Extremely hot on board, air condition not working or not enough powerful. No chance to move on more ventilated part of the bus without autist yelling. No chance to open windows while moving because “A/C was On” but probably only in the mind of the autist because passengers were feeling sick for the heat. Finally an operator declared AC was not working. Overpriced and unacceptable service.

Really disappointed as a family pass was €50 or €80. The price was quote high considering you went around almost the same as the local bus at €1.70. A lot of waiting and had to change the bus halfway round. I would have hoped to travel a bit further but this was nit the case.

Done quite a few "hop on, hop off" tour buses and this, by far, was the worst. We sat for ages in the port just looking at a cruise ship then on through town to Church of the Hypapante at Gouvia, or rather - the end of the runway for the airport. It didn't actually go down to the Church as the path down was closed. We usually 'do the bus' to listen in to the local information but I found out more on Google maps.

Dear Ardly . This is the Athens Hop On Hop Off. Kindly submit your comments to the Corfu Citysightseeing site. We are the Athens CitySightseeing 510 kilometres far from Corfu. Nothing to do with the Corfu Operation. Thank you so much for correcting your misplaced comment
