The entire day was brilliant. We were picked up by Michael at 8:40ish and from there on we had a lovely conversation, completely at ease within the beautiful air conditioned car. Also water was provided which was a wonderful bonus. We went to Knossos Palace that was lovely, and not totally busy, although a few tours were taking place with many people that we struggled to get past at times. From there on, we went to the museum which wasn't too busy, before heading off to see the old pottery village in which my girlfriend had the opportunity to make her own piece which was very cool! We then had a lovely lunch which filled us up at a nice relaxed taverna. Michael was great to be with from start to finish. Full of facts and interesting conversation pieces from the history of Crete to Olive oil, to pottery and everything in between. A joyful day out had by all!

What an amazing day! Our guide Gaetan was exceptional and made our day so memorable! The cave was so cool to see as well as off-roading on the mountain. Gaetan was very attentive and great driver and made us all happy and laughing the whole day. He was a pleasure to be around and if I could give him 10 stars review, I would. Thank you so much for a beautiful authentic experience in Crete :)

This trip totally surpassed our expectation's. Having arrived a few days prior in Crete we had already fallen in love with the geography of the island (we are staying in Agios Nikolaos), with the glorious coastal views and picturesque seafront. We wanted to experience the mountainous areas of the island and thought that this trip would be a good way to do that. Our tour guide, Gaetan, was fantastic. He has a joy for life and a fun personality that is infectious. He provided plenty of great conversation throughout the trip, showed good local knowledge and passion for his role. The variety in this trip makes it more than worth the price.The olive factory was interesting, the tasting delicious. The town of Krista was friendly and beautiful. The goats in the hills were very friendly and sweet. Lassithi Plateau and the roads through the area provide an incredible panorama of the dramatic Cretan landscape. The food we ate was absolutely delicious, and the location was spectacular. The cave of Zeus demanded a fairly rigorous hike, but was totally worth it - a very magical place, like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Finally, the old church we visited was a very special place. The mix of great locations, a good vehicle and a friendly driver made this an experience we will never forget. This is extremely high value for money and I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a good day out. We plan on returning to Crete in the future and will likely book again on another excursion! We went on this trip as it was the only one available from our location that we hadn't previously done. We knew about the steep and uneven walk up to, and in, the caves and were planning to stay at the cafe whilst fitter people than us went to the cave. At our first stop our driver (a mad Frenchman whose name I ever did get properly) spoke to us about that element and voiced his concern about us trying it. He was understandably relieved when we told him of our plan. The other 2 couple, both much younger and fitter than us, said it had been hard work and one said they wouldn't try it again. Overall though it was a great day out with a visit to an Olive Oil factory, which may not sound exciting but we found very informative, a short stop in Kritsa, then up onto the plateau with fantastic views and real off-road travel. The only slightly disappointing element was the lunch. It was advertised as a traditional meze and, as we had experienced this on a previous trip with Adventure Crete, we were really looking forward to it. It really was not what we expected. It basically consisted of a choice of either chicken or pork with a couple of potatoes and a salad. Despite that slight negative it would not stop us travelling with Adventure Crete again. One of the great selling points for their trips is that all seats are forward facing rather than the typical Land Rover setup of side facing bench seats in the rear which, we know from experience, offer limited views and a not very comfortable ride. Adventure Crete might want to consider either fitting side steps as getting in and out of the vehicles can be a bit of a struggle for the less nimble.

We were picked up from our Hotel at 0930 at the specified time. Our guide Enrico was Italian and spoke very good English, he was very friendly and knowledgeable and helpful especially when going up the richtis gorge to the mountain waterfall where I went for a dip in the cool water for some good photos. We visited an olive farm and had a taste session which was good the staff were all very friendly as well. The views from the Taverna where we stopped for lunch were amazing and the food was local and very nice. After lunch we headed to the ancient settlement and one of the oldest trees in the world. We didn’t feel we were rushed along and could stop and take photos when wanted. We arrived back at about 1730 after having a fantastic day and would thoroughly recommend this tour.

Great trip through the plateau and up to Zeus’ cave. The stops were worthwhile (mostly small villages), and the food at the tavern was enjoyable. Our driver Gaetan was loads of fun and the other guests were good value. Thankfully the Range Rover was air-conditioned!

Amazing day exploring the interior of eastern Crete with our excellent guide Enrico who couldn't have been more accommodating. His English was amazing despite hailing from Italy! Highlights were the olive oil processing plant (yummy tasting and really interesting to hear about how they process the olives), stopping for leisurely stroll and coffee in Krista, the winding drive up to the Katharo Plateau (extraordinary views and so peaceful at the top with no sound other than the wind through the mountains, the sound of goat bells and accessional cry of eagles), lunch at Dimitri's taverna (a consummate host serving simple, yet delicious food and a great story about how his business came to be) and the beautiful great Plain Tree at Krasi. We did enjoy Zeus' cave once in, but be prepared for a big (and in our case hot!) climb to reach it and likelihood of queues at the ticket office). The day is a long one (9am-5pm) and our teenagers were flagging a bit by 3pm so we kept the visit to Krasi and Selinari short. Overall would highly recommend!

I have gone on many tours around the world, including in Greece and Crete, and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. Due to poor communication and customer service on the part of the operator, Viator, and Trip Advisor, I was charged a large sum (and full price) for a tour I did not even go on. My experience and interactions with the operator, Trip Advisor, and Viator were so bad I would strongly recommend against using them in the future (it actually led me to deleting the Trip Advisor and Viator apps altogether).

We had a wonderful time. Micheal our driver / guide was very knowledgeable, very nice and really took care of us. He walked us through every stop, explained everything, made sure we had water because it was hot. Discussed the history of Crete as well as Spanalonga.

I recommend this company, it has great staff that promptly communicates with customers, and wants to make sure people will have a good time! Our guide was super friendly and attentive to us :)

Great adventure with Michael, who was the perfect host. Very knowledgeable, informative and accommodating. Would definitely recommend.

Our guide today was Michael, and outstanding and outgoing guide. He arrived right on time at 9 am and we began our journey. Since we had previously been to an Olive Oil factory, we went on to drive up the mountain and learn about the goats in the area. Michael had brought along some corn for us to feed the goats and the herd(?) came running upon seeing the car. It was fun playing with the friendly goats and saw some climbing in trees. After that we moved on to a high view of the Lisithi plateau for nice photos. Moving on to the Psychro cave, the reported birthplace of Zeus. There was a fairly steep path going up to the entrance but once in the cave the air was very cool, the cave had decent steps to enter and exit. We went to eat traditional Greek lunch at Taziapxos tavern nearby the cave , were treated to excellent food, wine and Raki. While there we met the owner who is a native Cretan and was in traditional dress. Loading up again in the Land Rover we drove to a high mountain pass where a line of very old windmills stood as a testament to the wind powered mills that was once used. We proceeded to the oldest Plain Tree in Krasi village, the trunk is truly impressive. At the end of our trip Michael was full of information relevant to everything we passed, especially the local flora and fauna being fascinating. The trip was everything we hoped for and Michael was a real treat.

This woman from this company was incredibly rude to me this morning while I was sat down on a video call to my friend showing her the view this woman came and stood directly in front of me so close that her back was touching my phone giving me absolutely no personal space she may as well have been sat on my knee she spoke enough English to communicate with her guests and could have easily said excuse me or just stood elsewhere as there is lots of space the woman seemed annoyed that we were there even though this is a well known public view point company seem unbothered after I contacted them AdventureCrete when booking a safari in crete book with Safariclub.gr as I've encountered their drivers daily for over 15yrs and never had any problems with their drivers

It’s small and easy to do in an hour with young children. Awe inspiring cave. Excellent value for money we all really enjoyed it.

Fully recommend this tour company, friendly, informative,great company to be with. We had a fantastic day in the Mountains,Spinalonga,Caves and topped off with Olive oil tour and a fabulous lunch. Thank you for making our holiday .
