In Dourakis winery we will wander through the vineyards, the wooden cellars of the winery, and feel the culture and history through the wonderful aromas of the different grape varieties.

- bjwin00Good experience and learning. The experience was wonderful however for the cost paid we expected at least better Wine and wine while preparing. If you go take your own wi e because the first batch is good but then it goes way down after that.
- Companion75200300Rethymno Tour and GastronomyThe tour was really interesting and we learnt a great deal about the local cuisine. The food was delicious. Our host Vincent was very knowledgable and polite. I highly recommend the tour.
- andygB7548TC00Brilliant experience!Loved it guys, great experience! Abseiling, jumping, swimming and hiking in a beautiful gorge, brilliant. The team where safety conscious, clear with instructions and we’re there to help us have a good time. Thanks guys, we’d highly recommend.
- erikenglund6500Best way learn about real Creete. This was a perfect way of not only learn about the Greece food. But also to know à lot about Creete. Under very nice circumstanses in a garden inside Creete. The hospitalet were super!
- junashac00Simply amazinggggggThis was the best adventure activity of our entire trip in Greece. An activity that is a must during your stay. The crew was amazing and we really had a great time. Thank you for an amazing experience.
- Moon_Moonia00« Escape In Action » was PHENOMENAL! 🫶🏼Exceptional experience with my 2 teens (18 & 15yo). The Team is incredibly nice, friendly and professional. Very safe activity and the gorge is just gorgeous ! Thank you Escape In Action Team - It was PHENOMENAL 🫶🏼
- Culture3049737674200Excellent history and very tasty foodGuide was exceptionally friendly and informative. Learn lots about the history of the town as well as Cretan food. With a very varied set of tastings but all of exceptional quality and taste.
- finmika00Authentic time with food and laughterExperienced guide who truly gave us value for the money. Tour was modified on the fly based on any wishes we had. Specially memorable visit to the authentic bakery. Michalis provided also good tips for the rest of our trip in mind including restaurants that the locals go and some small cities worth visiting by a car.
- mtp197000The best experience in a gorgeOne of the most fun activities you can do in Crete. I was a little skeptical in the beginning, because Crete outdoors can be rough. This particular activity is a very safe one because of Nikos team. You will experience jumps, as well as climbing down with ropes and swimming in very cold waters. You’re being watched and guided all the time by multiple people. it is an activity recommended for older teenagers and adults and cautions should be always used. There is a lot of excitement and you can see unbelievable nature. No prior experience is required. If you’re local, you can even get a discount if you ask.
- robertalP1175GS00Great way to see RethymnoOur guide, Michael, was incredibly knowledgeable. In addition to terrific food and drinks, he pointed out important historical landmarks and gave us a lot of history about Crete and Greek. My whole family loved it!
- Laura B00Engaging, informative & fun. This tour was a great start to our Cretan holiday. We were expertly schooled in Cretan history whilst exploring the streets of Rethymno & indulging in some delicious Greek food. Vincent our guide, was charismatic, knowledgeable & amiable - we enjoyed his company very much.
- jamesgO2960SV00A must do in Rethymno.I did the Rethymno Walking & Gastronomy Tour and the Wine and Olive oil Tasting with lunch. Both the tours were exceptional, and unlike the other tours on offer within Rethymno, ECOevents is personable. Nora was our guide for the walking tour, she made us feel very welcome, and through food and history, Nora helped bring the city to life. We left with a full stomach and a great appreciation of the town. Michalis took us on the Wine and Olive Oil Tasting. He provided us with a real insight into the Cretian way of life. It was fascinating to see the olive oil process and to get off the beaten track for lunch within the hills and views of the mountains. I would highly recommend it!
- Laura-Adriana-uae00Informative city tour, would have loved to sample more dishes and learn more about the history of the dishesInteresting way of discovering Rethymnon, an informative tour, however the choice of timing was not suitable for summer months and we spent a good 4hours mostly in the sun although our guide tried his best to find shaded spots. We were looking forward to learn more about cretan cuisine and sample different types of cretan cheese, olives, and dishes, but can’t say we achieved that, although we learned a bit more about the architecture and history. We felt that the options were limited and the tour description wasn’t clearly showing the number of stops and what we will taste. The first stop was at a coffee shop where we had coffee and sampled a traditional cheese pie, followed by a raki, olive oil and honey sampling, however it was only one of each making it difficult to compare and understand the differences. The next stop was by a famous bakery for some baklava which we took to go followed by lunch at a regular restaurant where we had few dishes to share.
- arond63300Incredibly Fun and TastyWe did the walking gastronomy tour with Vincent and we had an amazing time. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the food, culture, and history. I highly, highly recommend this tour to anyone interested.
- WendyB362400A walking tour with a twist as the food and drink tasting was great and Vincent, our guide, was knowledgable and engaginWe chose this tour as we thought that it would be a little different to the usual waking tours which we usually do and it was. In fact there was not that much walking involved as the ‘Old Town is not very big however there was a lot of eating, tasting and drinking of Greek and local cuisine, which was great. Our guide Vincent was knowledgeable and engaging. We learnt some interesting things, the fact that there were only 2 couples on it ( the most is 8 people) and it was very relaxed. we would not hesitate to recommend this tour.

If you want to experience the Cretan/Greek culture, history and food this is the trip for you. We had a fantastic time. From start to end we were immersed with the wonder of Crete. Our tour guide (Noura) was very knowledgeable, lovely and was happy to answer all our questions. We were in Rethymno for 7 days and this was the highlight of our trip. Highly recommended.

Vincent was our guide along with one other couple. We did not know Vincent or the other couple when he picked us up, but we all knew a lot about each other by the end of the tour. We were able to see and learn about so many local customs and the history of the Creatans, which is what we hoped for.
Being such a small group, we could always ask questions about things that interested us.
We highly recommend this tour!

We travelled with Michalis in a private car. He was knowledgeable and very humble about the Cretan culture. We enjoyed olive oil, wine & lunch in a local village. Highly recommend this tour company and their personalised service !

The whole was great really enjoyed ,although the olive 🫒 oil operation was verbal as not olive harvesting time.but we tried different samples and local Raki which was 1st class. The wine tasting was a great experience but thought we would eat at the winery like other groups. We were taken to a local restaurant which didn't make sense as we need to soak up the alcohol lol .lunch was like maze, nice but average and not what we expected.

Hello from Rethymno :) thank you for your review and feedback! Unfortunatelly the harvesting period for olive oil is after End of October.
You have been in the winery in a calm period and a calm year. Many times you have a lot and a lot of people and busses passing by, so we prefere to eat in a local taverna 20 min far away in order to have a more personal time with our guests.
We are sorry that you found the food average... perhaps they had a bad day..because if you see the reviews of our tour and on the tavernas itslef, its almost clear 5 stars :)

It was fascinating to see how Olive Oil in Crete is produced and to understand family values. The factory tour followed by the tasting was excellent. The vineyard and wine tasting was well organized allowing us to understand some of variety of wines available in Crete. Getting away from the water to see real Crete including our stop at the Taverna for lunch helped us understand and respect the culture in Crete including how it grew as well as how it was influenced by the countries that occupied Crete. Cretans have my great respect. Vincent was an outstanding guide.

Hi, I’m interested in doing this tour with you for myself and my partner when we are in Rethymnon in the beginning of August. I’m just wanting to know what the cost of this is and if it is a lot of wine tasting as well as olive oil tasting? As we are quite keen to do quite a bit of wine tasting. Thank you! Joanna Rizzo.
